The Biden-Harris regime’s appointments to the administration have been nightmares going back to Interior Secretary and “Water Warrior” Deb Haaland, but with the nomination of Tracy Stone-Manning as Director of the Bureau of Land Management they’ve broken new ground.
They’ve nominated an actual eco-terrorist who collaborated with EarthFirst sabotage. Stone-Manning received legal immunity in exchange for her testimony in a 1993 criminal trial according to The Daily Caller. It is highly likely that given the preponderance of evidence against her, the Democrat would’ve been convicted had she not flipped on her fellow eco-terrorists.

And this reminds me of Ryan Hartman. Everyone living in Lake Worth back in 2016 remembers Ryan Hartman, who I found out later was a cop hating anarchist and was a member of EarthFirst,described as a radical environmental advocacy group.
After a sit-in in Palm Beach Gardens where he got arrested, he cleaned up his act and ended up running for commissioner, recommended by the late commissioner JoAnn Golden.
He wanted to save our beach from the commission at the time who was planning to turn it over to developer Hudson Holdings that all sorts of idea for our beach park, even a hotel. that got my attention! Later he admitted to being an anarchist. As it turns out, he was not one of my better political choices and a mistake. But it taught me a valuable lesson--to do the research myself on candidates.

They must like to make fools of themselves. Even Lake Worth's anarchist and top cop hater will be demonstrating. He is part of Earth First, a radical extremist group that calls Republicans racists and fascists. Truth in Journalism - Doesn't exist in local Tabloid

Not only were the lies outrageous during this past election regarding Ryan Hartman and all the candidates running against the incumbents (lumping them all as anarchists or worse, even this blogger), and blown 100% out of reality, our local news "reporter/editor" was a part of the hateful and deceitful conspiracy to divide this city even further than it already was.
The trio, with professional guidance, reached into the soul of people and their basic fears and anxieties by over exaggeration, downright lies and character assassinations telling us if we did not re-elect the Trio, our lives and city would be doomed to slum, blight, crime and trouble. Their lies worked with the biggest landslide of recent memory.
Pelican Pete, who has been drinking the Kool-Aid back as far as I can remember, published his paper this week that mocks the Earth First group that he previously reported would be here for the Hartman campaign with its sole purpose of helping an anarchist. Scads of people were to be here even registering to vote. Of course, and as usual, there was no truth to his wild and twisted suggestion. But he ran with it and perhaps believed it but personally maligned a candidate.
Today he prints in his loony bird column: "By the way, this bird hasn't seen the musical supposedly being made in February, you know the one that called for people from all over to come to Lake Worth and sleep under the stars. The one that would like people with strong telephone experience to perform in. Have you? Didn't think so."
Can we ever get truth in journalism from our local newspaper? When a newsman writes a story, he should be interviewing both sides in order to report honestly and fairly. This rarely happens here. Take his Christopher McVoy crack in this week's editorial calling him "less than honest." I would bet any amount of money on it that he never talked to Commissioner McVoy about the topic at hand (dinner meetings behind locked doors) nor does he talk to him about any matter. He listens to his preferred Trio.
The bird must have failed Reporting 101. Accuracy is essential if journalism is to inform the public debate. A news story needs to be balanced and representative of the widest opinion base in order to protect credibility. This is why Margaret Menge was so good at what she does and why she was so feared by this side of politicos in this city and why they brought her down. Honesty in journalism has little chance to survive here.
But this is all written by a political bird, so accuracy, credibility and honesty be damned.

Hello Neighbor,
My name is Ryan Hartman and I'm running for City Commission in Lake Worth. The election is only a few days away and I am acutely aware of the slander that has been printed about me. The misinformation my opponent and the developer-funded PAC—The Committee to Protect Florida are telling about me are sickening, out of context, and a distraction from the serious issues we need to address in Lake Worth. I am writing this letter to set the record straight.
Over the years, I have written letters, spoken at commission meetings, worked with local and federal representatives, and attended protests. Our country has a long, proud history of civil disobedience and I am among many who have been arrested during peaceful protest in the course of effecting change. My acts show my commitment to stand up for what I believe in—equality, safe neighborhoods, protecting the environment, and government that represents the people—not special interests.
Like many people around the country, I have become concerned about the increase in deaths from questionable police shootings. Comments I have made about the police in the heat of the moment were unnecessary and I regret letting my frustrations get the better of me. My goal is to facilitate safer neighborhoods with the support of the PBSO. I understand the importance of keeping our contract with PBSO. I have already met with Captain Baer and Lt. Groover, and shared with them that if elected, I would work with them to improve public safety.
I am running a campaign without funding from developers or outside interests. The volunteers helping me get my message to you are long-time residents who share my vision of a unique city. They support my goals of fixing roads in our neighborhoods, attracting small businesses to create employment for residents, seeing the renovation and re-opening of the historic Gulfstream Hotel as the catalyst for resurgence in tourism, and addressing public safety.

County Sales Tax Proposed increase - All Lake Worth incumbents want to raise your taxes
A recent Palm Beach Post headline read: "Survey: Many candidates oppose hike in sales tax." This survey is in a link on the right side of my blog.
Let's take a look at what our Lake Worth candidates had to say.
PAM TRIOLO: FOR
GARY ANTIEAU: AGAINST. His argument? It has not been said what or where the money will go.
DIANE JACQUES: AGAINST. Her argument? I don’t favor a sales tax increase, because low income and middle class families shoulder the greatest sales tax burden. Decreasing property taxes by increasing sales tax favors upper income families who traditionally pay a higher rate of real estate taxes. First and foremost, taxes must be fair and sales tax increases invariably have the greatest impact on low income and middle class families.
ANDY AMOROSO: FOR. His argument? Tax increase would help fund a much needed infrastructure.
FRANK McALONAN: AGAINST. His argument? I would need to learn more about the allocation of those proceeds between the municipalities. At this time I would not support a sales tax increase.
SCOTT MAXWELL: FOR. His argument: The proposed local sales increase speaks directly to funding infrastructure projects
RYAN HARTMAN: FOR: His argument? I support a tax increase if the voters choose a tax increase. My job would be to do what the voters want.
The county has crafted wish lists with $712 million in projects. The Cultural Council of Palm Beach County, has a $228 million wish list says the Sun Sentinel. Under state law, cities would be entitled to 40 percent of revenue generated through a sales tax increase.
Diane Jacques argument was excellent but all those who voted "no" want to know where the money would be allocated. They want to know more details on this proposed sales tax that would be in effect for 10 years raising $2.6 billion county-wide. If it went 100% towards infrastructure, this could be a good thing but there is no guarantee just like in the Lake Worth General Obligation Bond that was defeated by the voters. And even if governments tell you money is dedicated, things have a way of changing when you're dealing with politicians.
The City of Lake Worth is doing that right now with the Utility Bond of 2004 that was for a 13.2kv upgrade and now the city is pushing/considering a 26.4kv upgrade. My question is how do you get taxpayers to pay for a bond that was for a 13.2kv upgrade and now the city wants to change that to a non-standard voltage? We still owe over $50 million on the 2004 Utility System Revenue bonds that were refinanced twice as well as interest of over $12 million. This presentation was supposed to be on last night's agenda.
Things just don't seem to get better and continue to go backwards.

Potholes in Lake Worth- Commissioner Scott Maxwell blames residents on potholes

Once again, Scott Maxwell is blaming the potholes on the residents who turned down the general obligation bond he was pushing in the amount of $63.5 million over 34 years that would have ended up costing the taxpayers $131 million. He never mentions the real cost and never was forthright with the voters on bond details. He also ignores the huge amount of taxpayer money used to convince the voters ($50,000) on the general obligation bond in comparison to those who supported a referendum. He never tells you about the $3.2 million with each commissioner getting $800,000 of that bond money nor does he tell you about all the millions he was going to grab for the Park of Commerce. Now he says workers will be laid off.
How Scott Maxwell answered the Palm Beach Post question on Potholes:
The city offered a comprehensive roads and infrastructure bond referendum to the voters in 2014 and lost by 24 votes. [It was 25 votes] There is no pot of money available to address our pothole issues in our city. The best way to address the potholes is to replace the failing roads as required. Absent the proper funding to do so, we will need to find opportunities within our budget going forward of 1% across the board departmental cuts to help roughly double the annual funding for pothole maintenance. Although I was told three times over two days that the general public was not allowed to attend this meeting, I understand that some of the public was in attendance to hear and meet the incumbents and their challengers for the upcoming City of Lake Worth March 15th election. Following is District 1 candidate Ryan Hartman's speech:
"Thanks to the Vernon Heights neighborhood association for having me. I spent a few hours today, walking around the neighborhood and listening to folks' concerns. Like every time I go door knocking, today was pretty eye opening. As you all know, I'm running for city commission in District 1 and when I win, I will address as many of these concerns as possible.
For the past two months, I've run a positive campaign; choosing to focus on the issues our neighborhoods are facing as opposed to spewing negativity about my opponent. Unfortunately, the three incumbents have not played the same game. They are degrading our democratic process by acting like bullies and fabricating stories about me. The worst of which is Scott Maxwell telling people I am a terrorist. Why would he do that? These questions kept me up at night. Then I remembered that Maxwell has run unopposed for the past two terms and is scared of having an opponent...worried about voters having an option to pick a different District 1 Commissioner.
And he should be worried because from going door to door, it appears that public trust is low for the current majority. They have ignored the opinions and demands of the residents. They have refused to put amendments into effect, and they have given the public misinformation about the beach project finances in an attempt to bring private development to the beach. They have rubbed their corruption in our faces with their back door meetings, their dinners at Dave's, and most recently by hosting an event together at a local bar where they gave people free alcohol to register to vote. At one point during that event, it was announced that the drinks were courtesy of the city commissioners. They have sat up here and denied that they have these back door meetings, but just this afternoon, before their public meeting, they were behind a locked door doing who knows what.
I understand that this is politics, that in order to win an election often times energy has to be spent throwing dirt on your opponent. I encourage anyone who has questions about my activism to talk to me. I trust that voters are independent thinkers who will research each candidate before they make their opinion. And when you do, you will find segments of Maxwell's radio show “Connect the Dots” where he espoused his anti-immigrant rhetoric.
These commissioners have had a 3-2 majority for the past year. While 3 is surely a bigger number than two, it is by no means a mandate. I can't imagine being part of a majority and silencing the voice of the minority. This is not the way government—or anything—should be run. I was at the two city commission meetings where the anti-homeless ordinance was passed and the one where the resolution finally went through. The vote was 3-2 and the voices from the crowd were equal. Did that make these incumbents go back to the drawing board and try to come up with something that we could all feel ok with? Nope; they ignored half the population and 40% of their peers, and as usual did what they wanted to. This was a horrible, non-solution to a serious issue this city faces, and the vast majority of folks here know that.
The homeless ordinance is just another in the long list of examples of the arrogance of the incumbents. When I talk to people in neighborhoods they tell me that they want their roads fixed, that they want the beach to stay public, that they voted for a height limit, and that they want the Sheriff's department held accountable for the rise in crime. Some support the Park of Commerce, but are frustrated to hear that at the behest of Scott Maxwell—the City is allocating millions of dollars to benefit commercial property owners while our roads are riddled with potholes..
I want to be city commissioner because I want to do what the people want. It doesn't matter what I want; it matters what the people who hire me want. It's about compromising, working with people that you may not see eye to eye with, and making decisions for the betterment of the people in the City of Lake Worth. Every person who lives in Lake Worth should have an equal say in what happens to Lake Worth. As much as we need tourism and new residents, there are over 35,000 people who live here now, many of whom have lived here for quite a while, who feel like they are being ignored by this commission as they rush to make Lake Worth like every other city in South Florida."

At the Bryant Park Neighborhood forum:
"...there was a brief testy exchange between Amoroso and Hartman after the commissioner called Hartman a “self-proclaimed anarchist” [Hartman has already said that he is a philosophical anarchist who believes in benevolence towards others...See my blog]. The Post writer goes on to say that Hartman plans to bring a group of Earth First! members to the city in February to register to vote, per Amoroso. "Earth First! is a radical environmental advocacy group," the Post wrote.
Actually, Hartman has never said that he personally plans to bring this group to our city as stated in the Post article or has anything to do with this group's decision to come to Lake Worth or that he has any clout over a national movement. A radical is anyone who takes a position against the norm or just takes action for what he believes. A simple definition of the word "radical" is that others are actually trying to get things done or take a different position than the norm. Most of us just sit around and do nothing when something "bugs" us. Constitutionalists are considered "radical" by progressive Democrats. I've been called a "radical" by some in this city for my conservative political views.
At the forum, Commissioner Amoroso said that we need to embrace all people but in this article he said, “They will be making decisions for you, the taxpayers,” Amoroso said. “It’s a wedge piece.” Hartman responded to the Amoroso charge by saying that the Earth Firsters are coming to produce an outdoor musical and even asked the audience if anyone wanted to help with it. “None of them, to my knowledge, will be sleeping in Bryant Park,” Hartman said.

Earth First describes itself as not an organization, but a movement. They actually try to protect the environment and our planet that in many ways are being slaughtered by human activity. "There are no members of Earth First!, only Earth Firsters. It is a belief in biocentrism, that life of the Earth comes first, and a practice of putting our beliefs into action."
Earth First! has survived attacks by moderates, would-be leaders and the agents of the system, remaining the most diverse, passionate, committed, and uncompromising group of environmental activists. Our direct actions in defense of the last wild places only seem radical compared to an entire paradigm of denial and control, where the individual is convinced they are powerless, and the organizations set up to protect the wilderness continue to bargain it away."

Bryant Park Candidate Forum

Last night this forum was held at the gorgeous Lake Worth Golf Course. The candidates were seated in alphabetical order. At one point during the forum, it was announced by Darrin Engel, president of the Bryant Park Neighborhood Association, that candidate for mayor, Diane Jacques, had a previous commitment and could not attend the forum.
Andy Amoroso: In talking about the casino, he said that this is the first year we have started to pay back the loan to ourselves and that the building needs to pay for itself. Also we inherited a bad business plan--everything leaks. He said that the recent Ordinance that he helped pass was not about the Homeless but rather it was about safety. When talking about the Sober Homes issue, he said that he didn't think that his opponent had talked to the Sober Homes at all. He said that "people will be knocking on your doors telling you that he wants to privatize our beach. That's a lie." Gave the PBSO a 9.5 out of 10 rating.
Gary Antieau: The city has nothing for the Seniors.
They took away the Senior center, the Shuffleboard courts, the Trolley. The addiction and mental illness that afflicts our city should be discussed with those who know how to treat them and get a solution. When asked about his lack of social media skills, he said, I'm not ashamed that I don't know it." Regarding the casino, he said, "Just rent the upstairs." Gave the PBSO an 8 rating.
Ryan Hartman: He will value the opinion of every single resident. We have increasing crime and need to tackle crime reduction, have safer streets and have more transparency in city government. Listening to the people is a top priority. Says that we need to advertise our pool and that this is an amenity that does not necessarily have to be profitable. We need to keep our entire beach 100% public. We need the city to go forward and there will be no homeless camp in Bryant Park or any park. Gave the PBSO a 7 rating.
Scott Maxwell: Was against the rebuilding of the casino and said that the money could have been spent at the Park of Commerce. We are losing hundreds of thousands of dollars a year on the pool. Until we fix that building, it will be very difficult to market and pay the bills. The casino was to pay for itself; it hasn't. Says he is proud of lowering the electric rates and we are now the 4th lowest in the state of Florida. Gave the PBSO an 8-9 rating.
Frank McAlonan: Says it's all about team work--the best team works together. To make the beach park more profitable, parking rates should go up during the season on tiered rates. Fixing our roads could be done for $20 million--take the money that's been allocated from the Park of Commerce. On the recent Ordinance regarding opening and closing time for public property, he said that he would not have passed an Ordinance that could put us into a lawsuit and that people need to read an Ordinance before passing it. He is working with a group on solutions for the Homeless. Gave the PBSO a 9 rating.
Pam Triolo: Working hard to help Lake Worth realize its full potential...don't listen to the rhetoric or sound bytes--I offer real solutions, she said. On the casino, she said that the upstairs space is in litigation because of faulty workmanship and they can't rent it. Our beach will always be public. Says that there is still no Certificate of Occupancy. Nothing we can do about Sober Homes. Says she is still working on roads. Said that she was the only homeowner when actually there are three others who own their own home (Gary's is in his wife's name). Gave the PBSO a 9.5 rating.

Lake Worth's Royal Poinciana Neighborhood Association invites Scott Maxwell and Ryan Hartman to speak

Royal Poinciana met on Wednesday night at Lake Worth High School's Media Room. The invited guests were Vice Mayor Scott Maxwell and Ryan Hartman, both running for Commissioner District 1.
Someone who is on the Board of the Royal Poinciana Neighborhood Association actually asked him a very rude question--She said, "I love your idealism. It sounds a lot like my misspent youth. Did you ever consider getting a job within the city before you ever thought to take it over?" Ryan said that he had a job and never had any intent to take over the city. Running for a city commissioner is not the way to take over a city and would be impossible to tear down the city as he is one vote out of five. He would be able to help pass legislation. Ryan said that he was a philosophical anarchist and a realist and he believes in participation in the system. It's all about community and it means not relying on someone else to solve our problems.
Commissioner Maxwell said that one of his accomplishments was moving forward with the $15 million Park of Commerce project. This has been "his baby" for years. We are getting $6-7-8 million from our Utility (reserves) and will be paying for wiring, plumbing and infrastructure for these developers/businesses that will be there. We own the streets and he is trying to get a matching grant from the State of Florida again as Gov Rick Scott turned down their grant request last year. He is also looking for some money from the Federal govt. He mentioned the lost General Obligation Bond vote hoping at the time that the voters would approve a $63.5 million dollar obligation to pay for our infrastructure needs. He failed to mention that the final cost would have been $131 million and for a thirty year pay-back paid by all the property owners with property value over a certain level. He mentioned our poor city and the high unemployment and also touched on code enforcement.

NA to host Scott Maxwell and Ryan Hartman
Royal Poinciana Neighborhood Association of Lake Worth is in District 1. They will have Scott Maxwell and Ryan Hartman, candidates running in their District, speak to them tomorrow night.

Just endorsed by the DFA (Democracy for America Palm Beach County), this past Sunday, Ryan Hartman spoke to many people who came to hear him and ask questions. For a young man, he is very mature...calm, cool and collected. Being an activist, he is used to controversy and confrontation and stands up for what he believes. He is not going to back down to the fact that people and the environment need to be protected and some, like the Homeless, need a lot of help.
Right now we have a huge Homeless problem within our city. Back in 2012, the incumbents signed an agreement with Palm Beach County that said that the PBSO would take the Homeless (at their cost) to the Philip D. Lewis Center on 45th Street but conduct screenings to ascertain who among them had active arrest warrants and those who were sexual offenders before they qualified or referred to the Center. Now, 4 years later, our Homeless situation in Lake Worth has grown leaps and bounds, some of it due to Sober Homes. Does PBSO take any of them to the 45th Street Center? We don't know as they have never told us in a public meeting.
When elected, Ryan plans on doing something about it and will look for solutions to the growing and out of control Homeless problem in our city, one of the things he touched on Sunday night, along with safer streets for everyone and transparency in government.
Ryan says, "Everyone agrees that Lake Worth is riddled with homeless people and drugs. Scott Maxwell has been in power for six years and in that time, the problem has only grown. I arrived in a town full of homeless people. I arrived in a town that has heroin needles on the sidewalks. Obviously what Maxwell is doing isn't working; it's time for a change."
