New Immigration laws in Florida

Florida House passes sweeping new immigration bill. Here's what's in SB 1718:

Tough penalties and restrictions that aims to obstruct the flow of illegal immigration to the state after the House approved the measure, (CS/SB 1718), in a mostly party line, 83-36 vote on Tuesday and will be in effect on July 1.

The new legislation strengthens employment requirements, bans local governments from contributing money to organizations creating identification cards for undocumented immigrants as we did in our city, bars driver’s licenses issued to non-citizens in other states from use in Florida and repeals a 2014 law that allowed undocumented immigrants to be admitted to practice law in Florida.

Reasonable relief from Unreasonable regulations

No More Crazy Local Ordinances-New Florida Law Empowers the People

We are always being told about Home Rule by Lake Worth Commissioners.

Getting a building project through a Florida city is often complicated and the project could get killed because of an arbitrary local ordinance that was ridiculous and over-burdensome.

Not anymore, Bill SB 170 (HB 1515) Local Ordinances, sponsored by Republican Representative Robbie Brackett, protects Florida businesses from excessive local government regulations by allowing a court to award attorney fees, costs, and damages for successfully challenging a local ordinance.

SB 170 gives citizens and businesses the tools to challenge local government’s authority. Elected officials in every municipality will scream “home rule” when they catch wind of this new law, but home rule is only as good as those ruling.

According to the majority office, this new law prohibits a county or municipality from enforcing an ordinance subject to challenge. Additionally, local governments must consider the economic impact of proposed ordinances on local businesses by preparing a “business impact estimate” before adopting specific local ordinances.

It also clarifies public notice requirements to allow properly noticed consideration of a proposed ordinance to continue to a subsequent meeting under certain circumstances without further publication, mailing, or posted notice.

New Florida Law on Displaying Flags on Government property

State bill would ban flying most flags on government property

Lake Worth Beach's pride flag outside City Hall would be in violation

and ironically, the city has gone all out to celebrate PRIDE this weekend.

The U.S. flag, the Florida flag and the six-color gay pride flag fly outside Lake Worth Beach City Hall.

"We respect the United States flag of America of course," Lake Worth Beach Mayor Betty Resch said. "It's always going to be right on top, but every community has its own flavor." She said her city is inclusive to all people, including the LGBTQ+ community. "It's a symbol of letting people know that they're welcome and that we're celebrating who they are," she said.

"It feels very intrusive to have the legislature in Tallahassee tell us what flags we can fly on our streets," Resch said.

So, from this article, it seems those who "love diversity" have not made a decision to respect the new state law that will be in effect on July 1.

Read about it...

Everyone knows that Lake Worth Beach has a large population of LGBTQ's and other minorities. Flags of this nature should be flown on private property.

Under the proposed law, Senate bill 668, governmental entities and their officers and employees would only be allowed to display the following listed flags:

United States flag
State of Florida flag
Flag of the Confederate states
Flag of the United Nations
POW-MIA flag
Flags of foreign nations
Flags that represent the branches of the United States Armed Forces and the Florida National Guard
Flags of Florida’s counties, municipalities, public universities, and colleges
Flag of the Olympics
Flags indicating beach warnings

Biden won't use his pen on repealing D.C.'s crime law

President Biden will allow Congress to overturn new D.C. crime law

In a private meeting on Thursday President Biden informed Senate Democrats that he will not use his veto power to block a GOP-led effort to repeal D.C.'s new crime law. Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer confirmed the decision to reporters following the meeting.

The president later confirmed his decision in a tweet stating: "I support D.C. Statehood and home-rule – but I don't support some of the changes D.C. Council put forward over the Mayor's objections – such as lowering penalties for carjackings. If the Senate votes to overturn what D.C. Council did – I'll sign it."

Congress has unique legislative power over Washington, D.C., outlined both in the U.S. Constitution and the 1973 District of Columbia Home Rule Act, which gives Congress the power to block any laws by the D.C. Council. While rarely used, it is not unprecedented.

Trump on Scotland's Communist Xenophobe Nicola Sturgeon

Good riddance to failed woke extremist Nicola Sturgeon of Scotland!

Scottish leader Nicola Sturgeon unexpectedly resigned Wednesday following months of outrage over relaxed transgender laws that allowed a rapist to be sent to a female prison.

"This crazed leftist symbolizes everything wrong with identity politics.

Sturgeon thought it was OK to put a biological man in a women’s prison, and if that wasn’t bad enough, Sturgeon fought for a “Gender Recognition Reform Bill” that would have allowed 16-year-old children to change their gender without medical advice.

I built the greatest Golf properties in the World in Scotland, but she fought me all the way, making my job much more difficult. The wonderful people of Scotland are much better off without Sturgeon in office!"

Illegal Activity at John Prince Park

The sorry people at John Prince Park

It is getting common place for people to ignore our laws--take the invasion at our southern border as an example.

Yesterday, I had to chase these people off the park by telling them that what they were doing was against the Park rules. I told them to get the hell out of our park or I would call the sheriff.

They did attempt a capture but the iguana got away.

If you see this Ford van around Lake Osborne, please report it if they are doing something illegal again.

Twitter and FBI Break the Law?

It Looks Like Twitter and the FBI Broke The Law

And the Legal Penalty Might Be Massive

Thanks to a new dump of “Twitter Files,” fresh from the archive in San Francisco, we now know just how deeply embedded the FBI was within the social media giant.

The question is, did those involved break a major federal law by violating the constitutional rights of individuals who were censored on the platform?

The FBI had an inordinate number of former employees on the payroll at Twitter, most notably former FBI general counsel James Baker.

In the days, weeks and months leading up to the Hunter Biden laptop story, furthermore, FBI employees or alumni had tried to influence Yoel Roth, then Twitter head of site integrity, that a Russian disinformation campaign was afoot and that it involved the laptop.

Democrats bill for Pathway to Citizenship

Senate Democrats Introduce Immigration Registry Bill to Provide Pathway to Citizenship for Millions

The news media constantly mentions the number of illegals in our country as 11 million. They have been using that number for years on end. We all know that is totally BS, another liberal lie.

Illegal immigration is the migration of people into a country in violation of the immigration laws of that country or the continued residence without the legal right to live in that country. Why then are Democrats violating our laws by allowing open borders?

Only 134 of the nearly 20,000 Colombians who crossed the border in May were subjected to Title 42. Biden administration is busing illegal migrants to shelters deeper in the U.S without permission of the states. FAIR estimates about 15.3 are illegally living in our country, Double that...If I would guess, I would say that we have 30 to 40 million illegals in our country.

Senate Democrats introduced a bill on Wednesday that would provide a simple, sturdy pathway to citizenship for undocumented immigrants who have waited decades for relief, alongside millions of documented immigrants languishing in backlogs.

“Our outdated immigration system is hurting countless people and holding back America’s economy,” said Sen. Alex Padilla (D-CA), a cosponsor of the bill along with fellow Democratic Sens. Dick Durbin (IL), Elizabeth Warren (MA), and Ben Ray Luján (NM).

The companion bill to the “Renewing Immigration Provisions of the Immigration Act of 1929” was introduced in the House by Rep. Zoe Lofgren (D-CA) back in July, where it now has 60 cosponsors—all Democrats.

Panhandling

Palm Beach Sheriff Offers Advice On How To Deal With Panhandlers

Local panhandling ordinances continue to fall and Palm Beach County Sheriff Ric Bradshaw explains why that's happening.

He says case law prohibits enforcement.

"In the courts it said people have the right to ask for help because they're homeless. Having said that, there's a difference between somebody coming up to you and saying 'Can I have a dollar?' and what we call aggressive panhandling where someone comes up and bangs on the window of your car."

The Lake Worth Beach City Commission this week voted to repeal its ban, while facing lawsuits. PBSO hadn't enforced the Lake Worth Beach ordinance since January.

Mayor Betty Resch, during that meeting, talked about the importance of coming up with a new ordinance that would withstand legal challenges." And I certainly agree to that.

Short-Term Rentals need to be Regulated

Short-term vacation rentals are illegal in Lake Worth Beach

So, why won’t the city crack down?

THE WHOOPING AND yelling by the women around the pool had been going on for an hour when suddenly the noise morphed into a primordial chant usually heard at strip clubs, loud enough to breach the windows of nearby houses.

“Take it off! Take it off!’’

Was I dreaming?

It was 1:30 in the morning and another good time was being had next door by the latest occupants of the “party house’’ in Lake Worth Beach’s College Park neighborhood.

Palm Beach County approves Ordinance on rent increases

New rules: Palm Beach County tries to get a grip on astronomical rent increases from landlords

Landlords throughout Palm Beach County will soon have to provide tenants with 60 days’ notice if they intend to raise rents more than 5% or terminate a lease.

County commissioners Tuesday unanimously approved an ordinance that calls for a 60-day notice. County Mayor Robert Weinroth said he expects the new rules to be in place by mid-September. State law currently requires notice of just 15 days.

"This is a good first step to help tenants facing increases of more than 20%," said Takisha Miles, supervising attorney for the Palm Beach County Legal Aid Society's elder law and fair housing project.

First-time violators could be fined $1,000 per day per violation; $5,000 per day for a repeat violation, and up to $15,000 per violation if the violation is found to be irreparable or irreversible in nature.

“This ordinance is anticipated to have a beneficial impact for residents and will help renters navigate the highly competitive rental market by providing more time to adjust to higher rents or seek alternative housing,” according to a staff memo prepared for county commissioners.

Lake Worth already declared a State of Emergency and want rent controls. Rental rates are out-of-control.

Don't try protesting in front of someone's home in Florida

Governor DeSantis Cracks Down on Protesters

New Florida Law Just Made It Illegal to Protest at Personal Homes

When the Supreme Court leak erupted, everyone had a reaction. Some of those reactions were stronger than others and this included widespread protesting.

Some even went to the homes of Supreme Court justices to protest. And for many, this was way over the line.

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis agrees — and now there will be a new law to stop it.

This law makes it clear that such a move just isn’t allowed: police will issue a warning and if they don’t disperse, they will make arrests.

Those who break this law will face second-degree misdemeanor charges, and it goes into effect on October 1.

No more crap like what happened when Laurence McNamara was running for Mayor of Lake Worth and Lake Worth's "hero" demonstrated with a small group in front of his home..

Live in Lake Worth, City Manager

Lake Worth City commission discussed domicile for city manager & Utility Director

What was agreed to by the commission and the public who submitted comment cards, our code should remain intact. Both who are in these executive positions need to live in the city limits and six months was plenty of time to find a residence.

From our Code:

Sec. 2-3. - City manager and utility director residence requirement.

The city manager and utility director must establish a bona fide residence in the city, within six (6) months of appointment as city manager. A bona fide residence, for the purpose of this section, is a permanent domicile within the city which has not been adopted with the intention of again taking up or claiming a previous residence acquired outside of the city limits.

Uncle Joe’s Admin Tells Floridians To Not Help Cuba

US Coast guard cracking down

"It is illegal for boaters to depart from the U.S. with the intent of transiting to Cuba for any purpose without a permit, and the waters are in the Florida Straits are unpredictable and dangerous.

People who violate U.S. immigration laws and illegally bring foreign nationals into the country, or who attempt to do so, may be subject to arrest, vessel forfeiture, civil and criminal fines up to $250,000 per day, and five years in prison."

This is so ironic as the Biden administration is allowing illegals to cross our southern border and they are disseminating them all over the country to states without their permission.

Military now doing Biden's dirty deed?

Tucker Carlson Reveals Emails Exposing US Military Secretly Moving Illegal Immigrants Around the Country

What Biden is doing violates longstanding immigration laws that he helped pass during his 50-year political career.

We knew Biden was busing and flying illegals and settling them throughout the country.

The Biden administration is using the U.S. military to secretly transport scores of illegal aliens across the nation and scatter them in various cities and towns — maybe in your neighborhood. And you’re paying for it, whether you like it or not.

The alarming findings were revealed by a Pentagon whistleblower (and you know liberals LOVE Whistleblowers) who sent Fox News host Tucker Carlson damning internal emails written by Lt. Col. Matthew Burrows of Laughlin Air Force Base in Texas.

Merrick Garland Sues Georgia

DOJ, Merrick Garland, Sues Georgia Over New Voting Rights Law

These Democrats really take the cake!

The Justice Department is filing a lawsuit against the state of Georgia to try and overturn a new voting law that Democrats allege discriminates against minorities, Attorney General Merrick Garland announced Friday.

The DOJ’s suit takes aim at Georgia’s Election Integrity Act, which was signed into law by Gov. Brian Kemp, R-Ga., in March after it was passed by the Republican-led state legislature.

Kemp issued a statement saying: "This lawsuit is born out of the lies and misinformation the Biden administration has pushed against Georgia’s Election Integrity Act from the start."

Florida High Schoolers to be taught about Evils of Communism

New Law Requires Florida Students to Be Taught About ‘The Evils of Communism’

High school students in Florida will be required to learn about “the evils of communism” under one of three bills Gov. Ron DeSantis signed on Tuesday.

DeSantis signed the bills at a news conference at Three Oaks Middle School in Fort Myers. Two of the bills—HB 5 and SB 1108—focus on civics education, and the third—HB 233—requires freedom of expression at state colleges and universities.

Of course Democrats are saying DeSantis is creating an issue "that doesn't exist." Are you kidding me? This will prevent teachers from "indoctrinating" students with a liberal agenda. Justin Katz, President of the Teachers Union in Palm Beach County and an Omari Hardy supporter, is opposed.
