Newport Beach, California, saw a rough end to the Fourth of July weekend after a crowd on the peninsula reportedly turned a holiday night into a scene of disorder.

According to the report, non-residents visiting the area were involved in brawls, looting, and damage to a local grocery store. What should have been a night of fireworks, beach crowds, and summer fun instead became a mess for residents, business owners, and local workers stuck dealing with the fallout.

The Newport Beach peninsula is a popular spot on July 4. That is no surprise. People pack the beaches, bars, restaurants, and boardwalk areas every year. But when crowds get out of control, it can shift fast from busy to dangerous. That appears to be what happened Saturday night, based on the description of the scene.

The report said a grocery store was destroyed during the unrest. Bars and beaches were also closed as officials and businesses tried to get the situation under control. For local business owners, that kind of chaos is not just a headache.

President Donald Trump is accusing vandals of damaging the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool following its recent renovation

The over $14 million renovation, which included an "American Flag Blue” paint job, took roughly six weeks to complete. Trump, 79, made a series of bold claims about the Washington, D.C. pool in a Truth Social post on Friday, June 19.

"We've had some real problems with Vandalism at the beautiful Reflecting Pool, which sits between The Washington Monument and The Lincoln Memorial," Trump wrote on the social media platform.

“Just like three days ago, they destroyed the grass outside of the Pool, they've also done everything possible to hurt the inside surface that was just installed,” he continued, seemingly referring to the huge “8647” found etched into the grass at the National Mall.

(According to NBC Washington, the number “86” is a code used in the U.S. hospitality and restaurant industry meaning to "get rid of" something, while “47” is a reference to Trump being the 47th president.)

“The algae is 75% gone, and the condition will soon be completely remedied, and the area that was vandalized, fortunately, is just a small area of damage, and will be fixed early next week,” Trump wrote. “It's a shame that the Radical Left Lunatics, most likely Dumocats, who have spent their lives trying to ruin our Country, are free to do so," he added.

Would you pay 50 cents to use a public restroom at a city park if it meant it would be clean? The mayor of the city of Lake Worth Beach proposed the idea as one way to stop the damage being done to park restrooms.

Officials with the city of Lake Worth Beach are desperately searching for a solution to the damage being done to park bathrooms.

At a recent city commission meeting, Mayor Betty Resch expressed frustrations with the state of the bathrooms at the city's public parks. She said it's disgusting what's being done to them.

"It's disgusting that people come in and destroy our bathrooms. They use them to have sex. They use them to shoot up. I don't know what the heck else. I mean, I've gone in there and there's like suitcases piled up," she said.

"The Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office (PBSO) said it's looking for a man accused of vandalizing someone's personal property in Lake Worth Beach.

PBSO said the alleged vandalism took place on May 19 at 10:45 p.m. at a residence along S. East Coast Street and Lake Avenue. No further details were provided of the crime.

That vandalism apparently included graffiti and the destruction of a statue of the Virgin Mary, according to a plea agreement reviewed by Fox News Digital.

Mota, a male who identifies as a woman, admitted to the vandalism as part of the plea agreement. When the plea agreement becomes final at a hearing on June 2, Nota will receive no jail time and three years of probation.
