Crooks fired eight rounds, grazed Trump's ear, wounded two others, and died in seconds under a Secret Service counter-sniper's rifle.

None of that explains why Comperatore had to wait a full year for the Secret Service to sit down with her, or why the agency still has not answered her most basic questions.

A Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee investigation later confirmed her instincts about the agency were not paranoia. Investigators tallied 102 separate local radio transmissions that day about a man spotted on the roof with a rangefinder. The Secret Service received five calls and three texts.

Local law enforcement transmitted 102 radio warnings about an increasingly urgent search for a suspicious person. The Secret Service never heard them.

Not because the transmissions didn't happen. Because the Secret Service set up its communications room 257 yards away from local law enforcement, in a completely separate location, with no shared radio channel.

The White House went on lockdown Monday afternoon after reports of gunfire near the complex in Washington, D.C. Reporters inside the building were moved fast into the briefing room, while others were pulled away from their camera positions as the security response got underway.

One report from the scene said shots were fired near 15th and Independence, close to the White House perimeter. The area was quickly locked down as officials worked to figure out what was happening and where the threat might be coming from.

Reporter Susan Crabtree also described the confrontation this way: “When the Secret Service officers confronted the man, it went sideways, and they ended up shooting him, sources in the Secret Service community told RealClearPolitics,”. At 1:30 this morning, a man wih a shotgun and gas can was shot and killed after he tried to unlawfully enter a secure perimeter at President Donald Trump's Mar-a-Lago resort in Palm Beach, Florida.

Palm Beach County Sheriff Bradshaw just spoke about it.

The man was carrying what appeared to be a shotgun and a fuel can, the agency said, adding that he was observed at the resort's north gate around 1:30 a.m

Judicial Watch obtained heavily redacted documents from the Federal Bureau of Investigation showing that law enforcement broadcast radio warnings about an "unknown male acting suspiciously" prior to the assassination attempt in Butler, Pennsylvania.

The FBI was forced to release the first records after President Donald Trump's assassination attempt on July 13, 2024, following Judicial Watch's lawsuit against the bureau. A year and a half after the shooting, very little is known about the assassination attempt, the failures leading up to it, and the shooter himself.

In the lawsuit, Judicial Watch asked for all records and communications related to Trump's would-be assassin, Thomas Matthew Crooks, after the FBI failed to comply with a July 2024 FOIA request.

As a result, the FBI was forced to release 37 heavily redacted pages revealing the extent to which law enforcement was aware of "suspicious" activity leading up to the deadly shooting.

An unidentified man was arrested early Monday after smashing windows at the Cincinnati home of Vice President JD Vance.

Secret Service spokesman Anthony Guglielmi confirmed the suspect was detained by members of the protective agency and taken into custody by local cops on suspicon of property damage.

“The residence was unoccupied at the time of the incident, and the Vice President and his family were not in Ohio,” said Guglielmi.

The Associated Press, citing two law enforcement officials, reported that Secret Service agents heard a loud noise at the home around midnight and found the suspect had broken a window with a hammer and was trying to get into the house.

The man had also vandalized a Secret Service vehicle on his way up the driveway, one of the officials said.

FBI Director Says Hunting Stand Found Near Trump’s Air Force One Exit Area

Both the Secret Service and FBI are investigating the matter, officials said.

FBI Director Kash Patel and the Secret Service confirmed that a hunting stand with a line of sight to an Air Force One exit area was found near the Palm Beach Airport before President Donald Trump was set to arrive.

In a post on X on Oct. 19, Patel confirmed an exclusive statement to Fox News that the FBI and Secret Service (USSS) are investigating the matter. No person has been linked to the stand, he said.

“USSS spotted a suspicious stand near the AF1 zone in Palm Beach. The FBI is investigating,” Patel wrote on X, also linking to his interview with Fox News.

“Prior to the President’s return to West Palm Beach, USSS discovered what appeared to be an elevated hunting stand within sight line of the Air Force One landing zone,” Patel told the outlet. “No individuals were located at the scene.

The FBI has since taken the investigatory lead, flying in resources to collect all evidence from the scene, and deploying our cell phone analytics capabilities.”

The Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee released a report July 13 about the United States Secret Service’s (USSS) multiple failures to prevent the assassination attempt made last July against then-former President Donald Trump at a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, that injured multiple people and killed firefighter Corey Comperatore.

The report, announced by Committee chairman and Republican Sen. Rand Paul, KY, in a July 13 press release, comes exactly one year since the attack, which was perpetrated by a shooter identified as Thomas Matthew Crooks. While Trump was speaking onstage at the July 13, 2024 rally, Crooks took several shots from a rooftop about 150 yards from the rally. Crooks was then reportedly killed by a USSS sniper.

After the attack, the Senate Committee and the US Senate Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations launched a joint investigation into the USSS’ failures related to the tragedy by conducting 17 transcribed interviews with USSS personnel and reviewing more than 75,000 pages of related official documents, according to the final report. A preliminary report on the investigation was released in September 2024.

The Committee’s 22-page final report released this week details eight key findings from its investigation, including that “USSS agents failed to communicate crucial information regarding the suspicious individual to President Trump’s shift detail, which had the ability to prevent him from taking the stage.”

We don't know enough

One year to the day after the assassination attempt on President Donald Trump in Butler, PA, in which only the hand of God turned the head of the former President in a literal nick of time to save his life, the American public remains in the dark about what really happened.

We have countless questions that remain unanswered about transparency, accountability, and potential bias in the investigation. The shooter, 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks, fired from an unsecured rooftop, killing one Trump supporter and injuring two others, yet his motive remains unknown, with only vague references to searches about Trump, Biden, and depressive disorder.

Who else might have been involved in enabling Crooks’ actions? Why did the Secret Service fail so spectacularly to secure the AGR building’s roof, despite local police warning two days prior they lacked manpower to cover it, and why were agents unaware of an Iranian threat known ten days earlier?

Why were six Secret Service agents merely suspended for 10 to 42 days rather than fired for what a bipartisan House report called “preventable” and “stunning security failures,” including communication breakdowns and unclear command structures? Why did the agency fail to act on local reports of Crooks’ suspicious behavior with a rangefinder an hour before the shooting, or relay warnings about him “bear-crawling” on the roof?

Why did the agent in charge determine that counter snipers couldn't be on that roof, securing it, due to its slight slope? The Secret Service’s own admission of “complacency” and “technological breakdowns,” such as faulty radios and inoperative drone detection, raises even more questions. Would the investigation be this shallow and ineffective if the target had been another candidate, like Kamala Harris or Joe Biden? Or any previous president?

The persistent finger-pointing, minimal disciplinary action, and failure to address systemic issues, like the Secret Service’s reliance on “informal” planning and a culture of “doing more with less”, suggest a cover-up or deliberate negligence.

In an era of political coverups, from the Epstein client list to Biden's cognitive impairment to the Covid pandemic and more, the lack of answers to the questions raised by the near murder of a former President and then leading candidate to win the offic again is the most disturbing one of them all.

A new report on the Butler, Pa., assassination attempt on President Trump reveals that the Secret Service received classified intelligence regarding a threat to Trump's life 10 days before the rally, but failed to share the information with other key agencies.

The damning report comes from the federal Government Accountability Office (GAO) one year after a gunman's bullet grazed Trump's right ear during a campaign rally speech. The shooter, Thomas Crooks, killed attendee Cory Comperatore as he was protecting his family, while two others were injured.

According to Fox News, the report also identified a series of procedural and planning mistakes, including "misallocation of resources, lack of training and pervasive communication failures" that led to the near assassination.

The report had been ordered by Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa.
