DEI in California now will include two Muslim Holidays

California bill to make Muslim holidays official state days raises hard questions about school neutrality

California's State Assembly voted 64-1 to pass AB 2017, a bill that would establish two Muslim holy days, Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha, as official state holidays and authorize public schools to close for both.

The bill advanced to the Senate Appropriations Committee on Wednesday, carrying a provision that has drawn sharp criticism from religious liberty advocates: it would direct the State Board of Education to develop a model curriculum for classroom exercises "acknowledging and celebrating" the holidays.

The measure, authored by Assemblyman Matt Haney, a San Francisco Democrat, sailed through the Assembly with virtually no opposition. But the bill's language goes beyond calendar recognition. It opens the door for state-guided classroom activities tied to specific religious observances, a step that critics say collides with California's own longstanding neutrality rules.

AB 2017 would add Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha to California's official state holiday calendar, designating a single day of observance for each. Both holidays traditionally span three to four days, and both shift annually on the Islamic lunar calendar. The bill authorizes, but does not require, local public school boards and community colleges to shut down campuses for both days.

If neutrality means anything, it means the state does not pick winners among faiths. California chose that principle when it scrubbed Christmas and Easter from school calendars. The state cannot now build celebration curriculum for Eid and call it equity. It is preference, dressed in the language of inclusion.

Neutrality is only a principle if it applies to everyone. The moment it becomes selective, it is just politics.

Another America hating Mamdani candidate for Senate

Abdul el-Sayed and Hasan Piker

Dearborn the first Muslim majority city in the U.S.

Michigan has a significant and growing Muslim population, particularly in Dearborn — now the first Arab-American majority city in the United States.

This demographic reality has already produced bombastic elected officials like Rep. Rashida Tlaib, whose outspoken views have often put her at odds with mainstream American values on issues ranging from Israel to national security.

While diversity has long been part of America’s story, we must confront the reality when that diversity imports ideologies hostile to our founding principles of liberty, equality, and unapologetic patriotism.

Now, U.S. Senate candidate Dr. Abdul El-Sayed is aggressively trying to capitalize on this base to pull off a major upset in Michigan’s crowded Democratic primary. He faces more established and prominent contenders, including U.S. Rep. Haley Stevens and Michigan State Sen. Mallory McMorrow.

El-Sayed is clearly taking a page straight out of the playbook of Zohran Mamdani, the radical who rode progressive and identity-driven momentum all the way to becoming Mayor of New York City in 2026.

Like Mamdani, El-Sayed is positioning himself as the bold, fresh voice for the far-left fringe, courting voters who prioritize grievance politics over American exceptionalism.

Additionally, he recently held a high-profile campaign rally with Twitch streamer Hasan Piker — a fringe leftist who has openly stated that “America deserved 9/11” and has downplayed the rapes that occurred during the October 7th attacks.

Piker, an early backer of Mamdani’s mayoral run, has repeatedly shown contempt for this country, admitting he holds no real patriotism in his heart for the United States.

James O'Keefe in disguise

James O'Keefe was in front of an Antifa compound in Sweden. A man in black bloc was smoking a cigarette outside a taxpayer-funded Antifa compound in Stockholm.

He saw me dressed in full Muslim garb — a kamis I’d bought earlier that day in a neighborhood called Little Mogadishu — and his guard dropped instantly. I told him I’d recently moved from America and wanted to get involved.

He said: “Let me show you inside.”

Here’s what my hypothesis was going in — and it proved exactly right: Antifa cannot say no to a Muslim person for fear of being called prejudiced. So while our Swedish journalist Christian Peterson waited in the getaway car because these people would attack him on sight, I walked right through the front door in a disguise. They gave me a personal tour. Three stories. A stage. Meeting rooms. The whole operation.

I asked if I could do my Muslim prayer inside. They said “Absolutely.”

Then it got better. When I mentioned ICE, the black bloc-wearing Antifa members started chanting along with me. They had no idea who I was. They had no idea we were filming. And they closed the big iron door behind us — with our hidden cameras rolling the entire time.

DHS Confirms Rearrest And Deportation Plan for Mahmoud Khalil

Khalil To Be Deported After Court Loss

Court Reverses Release

A federal appeals court last week overturned a lower court order that had secured Mahmoud Khalil’s release from immigration custody.

The 3rd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals ruled 2 to 1 to send the case back the other way. That means Khalil, who has been fighting deportation for months, is likely to be taken back into custody while the government moves forward with removal proceedings.

Tricia McLaughlin, the Department of Homeland Security assistant secretary for public affairs, told NewsNation the expectation is that Khalil will be re-detained and deported to Algeria.

DHS framed the decision as a reminder for green card holders and visa holders that residency is a privilege and that breaking the law or supporting violent groups can cost you your place in this country.

That is a straightforward message from a government focused on restoring order around campus protests and foreign influence.

The administration says Khalil helped organize pro-Palestinian riots at Columbia University, provided false information on his permanent residency application, and has ties to groups the U.S. designates as terrorist organizations. He has also sued the government for $20million for false imprisonment and malicious prosecution.

Democrats are Racists

The promise America made to us was simple but profound

E Pluribus Unum.

Out of many, one. It’s the fundamental covenant that says, despite our different backgrounds, we are all citizens of the same nation, living under one set of laws, and deserving of the same protections. This principle is what keeps us from descending into a mess of warring tribes.

But what happens when our own elected leaders decide that the covenant is optional? What happens when officials sworn to uphold the law start carving out their own private fiefdoms, declaring entire classes of Americans unwelcome and replacing constitutional order with tribal rule?

This isn’t just a thought experiment. It’s happening right now, and one Democrat just provided a chilling preview of the left’s ultimate vision for America. And trust me, you aren’t going to like it.
The comments were made in a series of posts on X showing Fateh standing in front of the Cedar Riverside towers alongside two other men.

“Cedar Strong. White Supremacists aren’t welcome here. We protect our own,” the post read. When pressed by journalist David Marcus, who wrote that Americans do not allow “no-go zones,” Fateh doubled down, replying, “This is a No-Go zone for white supremacists.”
Don’t mistake this for a simple slip of the tongue. This wasn’t a gaffe; it was a confession from Minnesota State Senator Omar Fateh. He lost the election for mayor in Minneapolis because of rank choice math.

He is openly promoting the creation of an autonomous enclave on American soil, a place where his political opponents are barred from entry and where a private force, not the police, keeps order.

Mamdani, the champion of the working class

Socialism has always been better at promising equality than practicing it.

From the dachas of Soviet commissars to the private jets of modern climate activists, those who preach sacrifice for the masses have a curious habit of exempting themselves from the austerity they demand of others. The pattern is so consistent it might as well be a law of political physics.

New York City’s newest mayor fits the mold perfectly. Zohran Mamdani, the 34-year-old democratic socialist who rode a wave of progressive enthusiasm into Gracie Mansion, built his political brand in the cramped quarters of a flood-prone one-bedroom apartment in Astoria, Queens.

He was the champion of the working class, the voice of renters crushed by landlords, the man who would redistribute power back to the people.

His early days in office have already raised eyebrows—condemning Trump after he extracted Maduro, a dictator who brutalized his own people, pushing socialist schemes that would make Albany blush, and assembling a team of progressive true believers that has business owners reaching for the antacids.

But that was the campaign trail. Now there’s an 11,000-square-foot historic mansion on the Upper East Side with five bedrooms, a private chef, and sweeping East River views. His predecessor, Eric Adams, actually refused to live there full-time. Mamdani moved right in.

And he’s already redecorating. Installing bidets. The double standard isn’t even subtle anymore—but then again, it never really was.

Mahmoud Khalil, Columbia University "Free Palestine" activist

Appeals court overturns ruling on Mahmoud Khalil’s release, citing jurisdictional grounds

A federal appeals court has just reversed a lower court’s decision, potentially paving the way for the re-arrest of Columbia University activist Mahmoud Khalil.

On Thursday, January 16, 2026, the 3rd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals ruled that U.S. District Judge Michael Farbiarz lacked jurisdiction to order Khalil’s release from immigration detention last summer.

Khalil, a green card holder married to an American citizen, was arrested by ICE agents in New York City in March 2025 and held for about three months in a Louisiana detention center. The appeals court vacated multiple prior orders from April to July 2025 and directed Judge Farbiarz to dismiss Khalil’s petition challenging his detention.

Khalil’s arrest stemmed from a determination by Secretary of State Marco Rubio that his pro-Palestinian speech compromised U.S. foreign policy interests. He was released on June 20, 2025, after Judge Farbiarz found he posed no danger or flight risk and faced irreparable harm if detained further. The Trump administration publicly criticized the release order at the time.

Judge Farbiarz’s rulings, while well-intentioned, stepped beyond his authority, according to the higher court.

What happens next to Khalil remains uncertain, though re-arrest looms as a real possibility.

Recruiter of Mamdani's leadership resigns

Mamdani Appointee Resigns Over Resurfaced Antisemitic, Anti-Police, And Anti-White Posts

You can learn everything you need to know about a leader by watching who they surround themselves with. For New York City’s incoming socialist mayor Zohran Mamdani, that lesson arrived before he even took the oath of office.

Mamdani’s November victory made history; he’ll become the city’s first Muslim mayor when he’s sworn in on January 1. But the celebration was tempered by deep unease among New York’s Jewish community, the largest outside of Israel.

Exit polls confirmed what many suspected: most Jewish voters rejected Mamdani. The Anti-Defamation League was so concerned they launched a tracker to monitor his administration’s policies the day after his election.

Given this scrutiny, you’d think Mamdani’s transition team would exercise extraordinary care in vetting appointments. …but you’d be wrong.

On Wednesday, Mamdani proudly announced Catherine Almonte Da Costa as his Director of Appointments—the person responsible for recruiting leadership across his entire administration. By Thursday afternoon, she had resigned in disgrace after researchers unearthed a trail of antisemitic social media posts.

Wounded National Guardsman hangs on to life

Wounded Guardsman Gives Thumbs Up, Wiggles Toes

As investigators continue to probe what motivated a man to gun down two West Virginia National Guard members, killing one just blocks from the White House, officials said on Monday that the victim who survived the attack was making positive progress.

The suspect, Rahmanullah Lakanwal, a 29-year-old married father of five from Bellingham, Washington, allegedly drove cross-country to commit the Thanksgiving eve shooting in the heart of the nation’s capital, officials said.

Army Spc. Sarah Beckstrom and U.S. Air Force Staff Sgt. Andrew Wolfe, members of the West Virginia National Guard were "ambushed" while conducting "high visibility patrols" at the time of the attack, according to law enforcement officials. The 20-year-old Beckstrom was killed while the 24-year-old Wolfe was critically injured, authorities said.

During a news conference on Monday afternoon, West Virginia Gov. Patrick Morrisey said Wolfe is in serious condition and is "fighting for his life."

Morrisey revealed "some positive news" about Wolfe's condition, saying that when a nurse asked him to give a thumbs up if he could hear, "he did respond."

Social media sleuths expose the truth on Mamdani

Democrats think they can say anything without getting fact-checked anymore

One New York politician just learned that lesson the hard way. And Zohran Mamdani got caught in one blatant lie about 9/11 that instantly blew up in his face.

New York City mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani tried tugging at heartstrings with an emotional speech about Islamophobia outside a Bronx mosque on October 24. The Democratic Socialist frontrunner choked up while describing his aunt’s alleged trauma after the September 11 attacks.

“I want to speak to the memory of my aunt, who stopped taking the subway after September 11th because she did not feel safe in her hijab,” Mamdani said, pausing for dramatic effect.

The timing couldn’t have been more calculated. Mamdani was facing mounting criticism from opponents Andrew Cuomo and Curtis Sliwa over his radical positions and cozy relationships with controversial figures.

What better way to deflect than wrapping himself in victimhood? But within 48 hours, Mamdani’s tearjerker completely fell apart.

From Gaza to U.S. soil

Biden administration oversight lets alleged October 7 suspect work in Louisiana

Biden Open Border Policies allowed a lowlife into our country

Imagine a suspected terrorist, linked to one of the most horrific attacks in recent history, slipping into the U.S. undetected and flipping burgers in Louisiana.

As reported by The Daily Mail, Mahmoud Amin Ya'qub Al-Muhtadi, accused of participating in the deadly Hamas-led attacks on Israel on October 7, 2023, was arrested in Lafayette, Louisiana, facing serious federal charges for conspiring to support a terrorist organization and committing visa fraud.

That tragic day in 2023 saw 1,200 lives lost in Israel, with unimaginable horrors unfolding at places like Kfar Aza, a kibbutz where 62 residents were killed and 19 taken hostage.

By September 2024, he entered through Dallas Fort Worth International Airport, settled in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and even secured a driver’s license, all while under the radar of a supposedly vigilant immigration system.

Al-Muhtadi submitted a fraudulent U.S. visa application in June 2024 while in Cairo. He allegedly denied having paramilitary affiliations or engaging in terrorist activities on the application. He entered the United States in September 2024 and lived in Tulsa, Oklahoma, before relocating to Lafayette, Louisiana.

Just days after arriving, a message warned him to avoid resistance contacts because he was “under surveillance for everything,” yet he still posted online with a handgun in early 2025, thumbing his nose at any notion of caution.

He was finally arrested on October 16, 2025.

Mamdani the Communist who will completely destroy New York City

Hello, this is Victor Davis Hanson for The Daily Signal. Everybody in New York City is on edge because it looks like, for the first time in the modern era at least, Zohran Mamdani is going to be the mayor in our November election.

Now, what’s disturbing about it is he is an unapologetic socialist. He says he is a democratic socialist, but on occasions in the past, he has said things like, to be a real socialist, “you must acquire or take possessions of the means of production.” That’s right out of the communist playbook of Friedrich Engels. It’s essential to communism.

Mamdani is the Muslim version of David Duke

Socialist Zohran Mamdani poised to turn NYC into Havana on the Hudson

By Greg Maresca

In the aftermath of September 11, 2001, New York City became a symbol of American resilience, unity, and patriotism. Over the past two decades, however, the city has undergone significant demographic and ideological changes. Leftist activism, illegal immigration, and a generational turnover have taken a hard bite out of the Big Apple’s core political landscape, especially among younger voters.

In less than a month, voters across New York City’s five boroughs will cast their ballots for a new mayor. Former Democratic New York State Governor Andrew Cuomo was defeated in the June primary by Zohran Mamdani, a 33-year-old state assembly member. Incumbent Eric Adams recently suspended his re-election bid on an Independent line.

Mamdani, a Ugandan-born Muslim, is also a raucous member of the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA).

Many will shrug and carry on, including countless New Yorkers who rarely, if ever, vote. Socialists, like communists, value equity more than prosperity. They believe it is better for everyone to be poor than for some to have more than others. The issue runs deeper than economics to include Gaza, BLM, LGBTQ+, the environment, and illegal immigration, all of which are about expanding the Left’s coalition to gain and sustain power.

Ilhan Omar caught smiling outside where the massacre took place

Ilhan Omar Smiles at Catholic Church Shooting Site While Democrats Push Gun Control

The nation is still reeling after the horrific shooting at Annunciation Catholic Church and School in Minneapolis, where two children were killed and 17 others injured.

The gunman, Robin Westman, a transgender biological male, reportedly left behind writings expressing regret over his gender reassignment and hatred for both Catholics and President Donald Trump. It was a tragedy that should have united leaders in grief and solidarity with the victims. Instead, a viral photo of Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) smiling at the scene has ignited a firestorm of criticism.

Omar represents the very district where the massacre took place. She arrived at the site, made brief comments about the “unspeakable horror,” and praised investigators.

Yet the viral image — Omar laughing casually with someone outside the church where children had been gunned down in prayer — struck a nerve. For many Americans, this wasn’t just a bad photo-op. It was a glimpse into how detached and cynical some politicians really are.

Zohran Mamdani

Zohran Mamdani: The Islamo-Leftist Trojan Horse in New York Politics

Excerpts from Richard Luthmann; Substack article of Jun 26 · This is For Real.

"Zohran Mamdani is not just a socialist candidate—he’s the canary in the coal mine for a far more dangerous movement. His rise marks the fusion of identitarian wokeism with Islamist apologism—a worldview hostile to liberal democracy, national identity, and basic Western values.

Mamdani has praised Hamas-linked figures, justified violent uprisings, and surrounded himself with extremists who glorify political assassins. Yet he’s being framed as a progressive trailblazer. If elected mayor of New York City, Mamdani will serve as a cultural battering ram—normalizing the ideological rot of Islamo-gauchisme under the guise of “social justice.” Voters beware.

The likely next mayor of New York City embodies all the sinister orthodoxies of contemporary groupthink

Zohran Mamdani, a 33-year-old socialist, has just won the NYC mayoral primary. He is now odds-on to become the city’s first Muslim mayor.

Born in Uganda to Indian parents, Mamdani moved to the U.S. as a child and became a naturalised citizen in 2018. His rise has been rapid—until relatively recently, most New Yorkers had never heard of him.

He’s being lauded as a compassionate warrior for social justice, which is generally a very reliable indicator that the opposite is true. And so it proves in this case.

Here are a few highlights:

• In 2017, Mamdani released a rap track called ‘Salaam’, about growing up Muslim in New York, in which he expresses his ‘love’ for five men known as the ‘Holy Land Five’. This is a reference to the heads of the now-defunct Holy Land Foundation for Relief and Development—Shukri Abu Baker, Mohammad El-Mezain, Ghassan Elashi, Mufid Abdulqader and Abdulrahman Odeh—who were convicted by a federal jury in 2008 of channelling millions of dollars to Hamas, a proscribed terrorist organisation.
• He’s defended cries of ‘globalise the intifada’ as ‘capturing a desire for equality’. For context, “Intifada” implies ‘bloody violence and calls for the death and murder of Jewish Israelis – civilian or otherwise.’ During previous ‘intifadas’ suicide bombers and knifemen targeted civilians throughout Israel at cafés, restaurants full of kids, hotels, wedding ceremonies, shopping malls, nightclubs, and bus stations, resulting in many hundreds of deaths.
• On Oct 8 2023, while a jihadist pogrom that would ultimately claim over 1200 lives was still ongoing, he tweeted taking aim at…Israeli ‘apartheid and occupation’. His post singled out Netanyahu and the Israeli government for criticism by name, but didn’t once mention Hamas. This presumably made his father Mahmood Mamdani, an academic at Columbia University who teaches about ‘the necessity of violence in anti-colonial struggle’ (and one of his donors), very proud. Mamdani Senior has called for the ‘dismantling of the Jewish state’, and signed a public letter referring to Hamas’ massacre as ‘an occupied people exercising a right to resist violent and illegal occupation’. Nice family. What better way to show gratitude to your host nation than by fraudulently depicting it as an oppressive dystopia and making pseudo-intellectual arguments in defence of movements that pose real threats to liberty, tolerance and free thought?
• His voting behaviour raises a few questions to say the least. For instance, why would a man lauded for his supposed commitment to fighting ‘bigotry’ in all its forms fail to sign a State Assembly resolution commemorating Holocaust victims? A real noodle-scratcher…
• In light of the points listed so far, it’s perhaps unsurprising that the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) have allegedly backed him to the tune of many thousands of dollars. CAIR was originally founded in 1994 as part of a broader network linked to the Islamic Association for Palestine, which U.S. authorities identified as a propaganda arm of Hamas in the U.S. One of its co-founders has stated, quote, ‘I am in support of the Hamas movement’, its officials have repeatedly refused to condemn Islamist and jihadist outfits including Hamas and Hezbollah in interviews, and it has reportedly teamed up with Muslim Brotherhood-linked preachers.
• At the height of the Maoist-style moral panic around race in 2020, Mamdani fanned its flames. He called explicitly for the police to be defunded—despite the near-certainty that this would lead to a sharp rise in violent crime and fatalities within the black community—and pushed to abolish certain standardised tests on the grounds that they’re racist, presumably because the only acceptable exam is one that delivers identical outcomes for every ethnic group. He’s also spent years complaining about white privilege (of course).
• He seemingly supports revolutionary communists.
• His campaign political director, Julian Gerson, was revealed to have posted online in praise of Luigi Mangione, who shot UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson — a father of two — in the back and killed him. On facebook, Gerson suggested that a street should be renamed in honour of Mangione, writing he was ‘looking forward to driving down Mangione Avenue a few decades from now.’ Veneration, in other words, for the use of deadly violence against unarmed civilians for political ends.
• Oh yes, and he fakes his accent (as I’ve discussed elsewhere, this is unforgivable). In short, the guy is the embodiment of Islamo-gauchisme. He echoes Islamist talking points while simultaneously parroting all the most fact-lite tenets of identitarian progressivism. And he’s got the backing of everyone from AOC and Jeremy Corbyn, to Nazi-praising Islamic YouTubers."

One of the greatest cities on the planet is doomed if this guy is elected mayor.

Aliakbar Mohammad Amin threatens to kill Tulsi Gabbard and her family

DOJ Busts Man Plotting Trump Official’s Murder!

The Department of Justice (DOJ) has charged Aliakbar Mohammad Amin, a 24-year-old Georgia man, with issuing violent threats against Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard and her family. The charges come amid a disturbing surge in politically motivated violence targeting Republicans and Trump administration officials—a trend the liberal media continues to downplay or ignore entirely.

According to the DOJ, Amin sent chilling messages, including:
“Death to America means death to America literally, Tulsi is living on borrowed time.”
“The home you two own… is a legitimate target and will be hit at a time and place of our choosing.”
“Prepare to die, you, Tulsi, and everyone you hold dear. America will burn.”
Amin’s social media posts reportedly included an image of a firearm aimed at a photo of Gabbard and her husband. When federal agents raided his home, they discovered a weapon, further underscoring the seriousness of the threat.

This case is just the latest in a string of violent acts and threats against conservatives.

Earlier this week, the DOJ charged a New Mexico man with arson attacks on a Tesla facility and the Republican Party of New Mexico headquarters. Another individual from Pennsylvania was arrested for threatening Elon Musk, Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents, and President Donald Trump himself.
