This has been going on since 2005 when I first got into the PAC, Save Our Neighborhood, Inc. with Katie Mcgiveron

I am attaching the letter from the City Attorney to the Mayor & Commissioners along with the 'mystery' Settlement Agreement finally. The letter is dated 2/21/24.

SCG's $5k+ app fee is waived. It appears that if the amendment to allow townhomes anywhere in Lake Worth Beach isn't passed at the same time as his (developer) request for a planned development, he will sue & if his planned development isn't approved, he will sue. Also, townhomes are mandated to be built on the property. The City has to approve the Settlement Agreement first.& Chris (the developer) will have 60 days to file a claim after that if he wants. It also appears that in the new settlement agreement, they increased the townhomes from 40 to 42, decreased the setback required and possibly removed the requirement for homes to be for sale not rent.

Top City Executives Spoke at ROLO Meeting

Neighborhood Association, ROLO, met on July 11 with approx 50 in attendance

The main topic of the evening was the Sunset property that sold in 2005 for $1,500,000.

In 2005, we formed Save Our Neighborhood PAC to lobby and ensure that this property would remain Single Family 7 and not have it over-developed in our single family neighborhood. We even went to mediation to no avail.

It has languished through the years with several zoning changes: Agriculture, Single Family 7 and even Medium Density Residential. At the moment, someone, and we don't know who but we can only guess who made another zoning change, has the zoning as NZ - NOT ZONED-- ( 38-LAKE WORTH BEACH ).

There is a neglected house on the 4.02 acres that should be demolished.

We were told that SCG Florida, Chris Raley, has submitted plans to build on the acreage. Their web site says, "SCG Florida, LLC, builds sustainable single-family homes with a pathway to ownership with an ESG focus for affordable living." It was said at the meeting that he wants to build 42 townhouses with 6 as affordable units. There will be no sustainable bonus to the developer. I don't want to speak for our PAC that is now dissolved, but I believe we would agree that 42 townhouses are acceptable for the parcel.

DNA evidence leads to arrest in 2008 home invasion murder

It happened in the ROLO neighborhood on Small Drive in Lake Worth Beach

Investigators say DNA evidence lead to the arrest of a suspect in a home invasion murder that happened 13 years ago in Lake Worth.

The Palm Beach County Sheriff's office arrested 47-year-old Luis Ruiz Gonzalez after a grand jury charged him with first degree murder, home invasion robbery, and lewd and lascivious battery.

Group Home to Open on Sunset Drive in ROLO

One-of-a-kind home to open in Lake Worth Beach for female veterans

Non-profit group called Operation 120 will soon open their doors to provide a home for homeless female veterans who are now living on the streets, sleeping in the woods and have no place to go.

The ROLO neighborhood can expect the first few residents to arrive before Christmas.

A huge Thank You to Katie McGiveron for another Successful ROLO Meeting.

Our Crime Report Volunteer Carol Had good news and some very staggering news. Did you know that Palm Beach County is Number 3 in the State for Human Trafficking? Where crime is generally down in our neighborhood there are a few things to be concerned about. Carol please feel free to add to this post.

We found out tonight that our meeting place, the Lake Osborne Presbyterian Church has been broken into several times, Vandalized and other infractions. This is completely unacceptable and can not continue. We Plead to the community to be diligent and if you see activity at the Church after house to call PBSO! Non-emergency is 561-688-6400 or crime in progress 911. I could not attend as I had my own community meeting.

Thank you to all the members from the City that went over the road program for our neighborhood and we will be posting some pictures and drawings in the next few days. We are looking forward to the future of ROLO in the greater Scheme of the City of Lake Worth.

Big thanks to the attendance tonight as we really appreciate your input that directs your board members in what directions we take to help our neighborhood.

Another big topic was Homelessness, The issues we have in John Prince Park, the Lack of Resources available and the lack of response from the County regarding this issue. We will set up a meeting with County Commissioner Kerner and hopefully get him and PBSO to do a drive through with us and the proximity to our neighborhood.

There Must be resources that are offered to curb this issue that is so prominent in South Florida. A testimonial tonight reveled that a man in his 50's is now homeless due to circumstances beyond his control. Yet because he is not a drug user there are no resources available. A Goal for ROLO will be to start compiling a list of resources and urging officials and private enterprises to start addressing these issues.

Remember we have only 6 meetings a year and the next meeting will be on January 8th 2019 so please let your neighbors know and it is also our Elections. Wright Drive has become a commercial slum

Our residential street in the ROLO neighborhood has become a commercial slum. This house at 436 Wright Drive has been a problem for over a year and nothing gets done to stop the abuse. The owner continues to park his commercial vehicles on the sidewalk and the city swale. He's been told not to by the Code Enforcement Department but he obviously doesn't give a hoot.

The mess on Wright Drive stated a few years ago when the house on the corner of Wright and 6th Avenue South, 535 Wright Drive, was allowed to change the front of the house to the side of the house because it is on a corner lot. That's when it all started with the commercial businesses taking over our residential street.

This house below is on the same side of the street as 535 Wright. It has become one big joke. The owner parks his heavy equipment on the front of his property.

Why can't Code do anything?

This is what's happening in my neighborhood. It seems evident that this owner is conducting a commercial business out of his house. He parks these vans all over even on city property (sidewalk and swale).

This house is across the street from the one at 436 Wright Drive and this huge commercial monstrosity is parked there all of the time.

This used to be a wonderful street. Now our neighborhood is being trashed, big time and even after numerous complaints, nothing changes. Why aren't the neighbors raising holy hell?

FEMA in the ROLO neighborhood?

Katie alerted me to a group of people (I witnessed four men and one woman) in the ROLO neighborhood today knocking on doors and giving out flyers from a pad. They all had badges around their necks identifying them as FEMA reps.

They did not wear uniforms. There were no markings on their van but it did have a government plate. They told me they were part of Homeland Security and here to assist people who might have a claim from hurricane damage. That's as far as I got until it poured down rain. By the time I got to my car I was drenched all the way through.

Katie called the non-emergency number at PBSO and left a message with the operator. No one called her back. One hour later she called again and no one was picking up. It's Friday.

Neighbors helping neighbors in ROLO

The owner who lives at the corner of Lake Osborne Drive and Collier Avenue has been sick. So, the neighbors pitched in on Saturday to get his yearly spectacular Christmas display up for all of us to enjoy. This is the true spirit of Christmas.

Theft in Lake Worth

We have plenty of theft in our city but this type of crime has happened before in Lake Worth. Criminals are so brazen today. Some greedy bastard came on to this owner's property and stole his wheels and tires right off his car. They come out like cockroaches in the dead of night when most people are sound asleep.

It happened a few years ago at the Lake Worth Towers. Those thieves too, put the car up on blocks...very kind of them. This theft took place in the ROLO neighborhood on Moor Drive last night. The owner says, "2 car wheels were stolen off our car (2004 Mazda 6; Factory wheels) and the car was left on cinder block on Moor drive around 2 am, per neighbor a black SUV turned on Small Drive. I have reported this information to the police."

Royal Poinciana bit the dust in Lake Worth

For over 40 years, Dorothy Brindle who lives in the ROLO neighborhood had a magnificent Poinciana tree enjoyed by her family and all who passed by her Sunset Drive home to see its beauty. No one knows for sure the age of the tree but everything has its time to live and time to die.
