Trump Threatens to Invoke Insurrection Act to End Anti-ICE Protests in Minnesota

Trump warned that he would use the law if politicians didn’t stop attacks on ICE

“If the corrupt politicians of Minnesota don’t obey the law and stop the professional agitators and insurrectionists from attacking the Patriots of I.C.E., who are only trying to do their job, I will institute the INSURRECTION ACT, which many Presidents have done before me, and quickly put an end to the travesty that is taking place in that once great State,” Trump said in a Truth Social post on Jan. 15.

The law allows the president to deploy troops to counter an insurrection or armed rebellion. It serves as an exception to the Posse Comitatus Act, which prevents the use of the military for civilian law enforcement.

His comments came amid ongoing confrontations between demonstrators and law enforcement in the state, as well as tension between federal and state authorities.

Of course, they don't tell you any specifics as to what they believe is an illegal order...just politics. I am assuming that they believe that blowing up the drug boats is an illegal act and would be happier if drugs landed in our country.

The US Supreme Court announced that it would hear arguments on whether former President Donald Trump has immunity from prosecution in Special Counsel Jack Smith’s election interference case.

The case in question stems from Special Counsel Jack Smith’s investigation into the January 6th Capitol riot and any alleged interference in the 2020 election.

The ballot case in Colorado, Anderson v. Griswold, No. 2023CV32577, landed in Trump’s favor, but Trump and the plaintiffs are both appealing the case on different grounds.

Trump’s legal team is upset about “unsupported” findings by the judge in the official ruling of the case.

The ruling in the case fell in Trump’s favor, as he will be permitted to add his name to the ballot, which was the major issue at hand.

However, in the ruling, the judge made some comments that did not sit very well with Trump’s legal team, as she basically convicted him of insurrection, even though Trump has not been charged with that crime in any of his cases.

The Judge made an unfounded opinion when she said that she found that Trump did in fact "engage in insurrection" on Jan. 6 and rejected his attorneys' arguments that he was simply engaging in free speech. Normally, that would be enough to disqualify him under Section 3, but she said she couldn't do so for a presidential candidate.

How dare a Judge give an opinion such as this that Trump engaged in an insurrection? This has NOT been proven in a court of law.

The FBI didn’t seem to want to share “critical intelligence information that could have helped law enforcement better prepare for the events of January 6th, 2021.”

According to the Senate report released June 27, “despite the high volume of tips and online traffic about the potential for violence these agencies failed to sound the alarm.” Some say federal agents or their informants were behind all that chatter. Anyone can be lurking behind a Guy Fawkes mask.

The bureau did communicate some intelligence to “partner agencies” but they did it “informally.” Apparently the FBI didn’t want to leave paper trails or let the things they knew were about to happen get circulated around the general law enforcement community.
