That’s been the reality for American families for decades. The U.S. has long paid nearly three times what other developed nations spend on prescription drugs – a fact that every politician in Washington has lamented and virtually none have fixed. Administrations came and went. Promises piled up like unpaid invoices. The pharmaceutical lobby wrote checks, and Congress looked the other way.

Sound familiar? It should. We’ve been hearing this song our entire lives. But last Friday, something concrete actually happened – and I mean concrete with a dollar sign$ attached.

President Trump announced from the Oval Office that his most-favored-nation drug pricing agreements with pharmaceutical companies are officially being extended to Medicaid programs in all 50 states, Washington, D.C., and Puerto Rico. Through the GENEROUS Medicaid Payment Model, states will receive rebates ensuring they never pay more than the MFN price on expensive brand-name drugs.

Twenty-six major pharmaceutical companies – from Eli Lilly and Novo Nordisk to AstraZeneca and AbbVie – have signed on voluntarily.

Your grandfather paid less for his heart medication last month than he did last year. That is a real thing that happened because one president decided American patients deserved the same deal every other country already had.

In February 2026, TrumpRx.gov was live – a direct platform letting Americans buy medicines at MFN prices without fighting their insurance company.

Late Tuesday, the administration unveiled negotiated price cuts for medications treating everything from cancer to diabetes, projecting a staggering $12 billion in savings compared to last year’s spending, with $685 million directly benefiting enrollees’ wallets by 2027, as The Hill reports.

This isn’t just a press release -- it’s a lifeline for millions of seniors struggling with prescription costs, especially for high-ticket items like Ozempic and Wegovy, used by nearly 2.3 million Medicare beneficiaries in 2024.

This negotiation program stems from the Inflation Reduction Act, a Biden administration hallmark now being wielded by Trump’s team to deliver results.

Health officials didn’t shy away from comparing their efforts to the prior administration’s initial round of talks, with CMS Administrator Mehmet Oz declaring, “Using the same process with a bolder direction, we have achieved substantially better outcomes for taxpayers and seniors in the Medicare Part D program.”

Meanwhile, advocacy groups like Patients For Affordable Drugs cheered the move as a win for taxpayers, though they rightly point out the fight against Big Pharma’s legal challenges isn’t over.

President Donald Trump is shaking up the pharmaceutical game with a bold new move! The White House is rolling out TrumpRx, a government-run website where everyday folks can buy select drugs at slashed prices negotiated directly by Uncle Sam, as the Wall Street Journal reports.

This isn’t just a press release; it’s a direct jab at Big Pharma’s bloated pricing schemes.

Alongside this, Pfizer is stepping up with price cuts on several U.S. medications and a massive $70 billion investment in American manufacturing, all tied to Trump’s push for cheaper drugs and domestic production.

For months, President Trump has been turning the screws on drug companies, demanding they slash costs for American patients. In a July letter, he urged pharmaceutical giants to join a direct-to-consumer platform with pricing on par with other developed nations.

That’s not a suggestion; it’s a battle cry against the progressive agenda that’s let drug costs spiral out of control.

Pfizer’s products will be offered on a website that hasn’t yet launched, called TrumpRx.gov. The program, at least initially, seems to be geared toward patients who access care through Medicaid. But officials said during a press conference they see a future where these prices will also apply in the Medicare program and commercial plans.

Doctors are free to prescribe ivermectin to treat COVID-19, a lawyer representing the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) said this week.

“FDA explicitly recognizes that doctors do have the authority to prescribe ivermectin to treat COVID,” Ashley Cheung Honold, a Department of Justice lawyer representing the FDA, said during oral arguments on Aug. 8 in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 5th Circuit.

The government is defending the FDA’s repeated exhortations to people to not take ivermectin for COVID-19, including a post that said “Stop it.”

The FDA on Aug. 21, 2021, wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter: “You are not a horse. You are not a cow. Seriously, y’all. Stop it.” The post, which linked to an FDA page that says people shouldn’t use ivermectin to prevent or treat COVID-19, went viral.

Study shows Mark Cuban’s new generic drug company’s system could save taxpayers billions

Billionaire innovator Mark Cuban has figured out how to substantially reduce costs for generic prescription drugs with a new company he launched this year, however, and a recent study showed that the federal government could save several billion dollars if it used his company or adopted the same practices, the Daily Caller reported.

In January, Cuban launched a new company known as Cost Plus Drugs that makes use of a direct-to-consumer system that substantially reduces costs for generic prescription drugs by bypassing wholesale distributors, pharmacies, and insurance companies and shipping the product directly from the manufacturer to the individual.
