FBI Captures Fugitive on ‘Most Wanted Fraudsters’ List After 3 Years on the Run

The FBI has captured a notorious fugitive accused of orchestrating a staggering $547 million Medicare fraud scheme after more than three years on the run.

Khalid Satary was arrested in the Middle East carrying a fake Mexican passport before being flown back to the United States to face a sweeping list of federal charges.

“The arrest of Khalid Ahmed Satary and return to the U.S. is the third Most Wanted Fraudster capture from this FBI and our partners in just 5 weeks,” FBI Director Kash Patel said.

Patel said the arrest continued a “historic run of success” for the new initiative.

“This is another subject who exploited a program dedicated to helping our most vulnerable and instead stole for himself,” Patel said.

Ereg ran Evergreen Grocery and Deli in south Minneapolis under the sponsorship of Feeding Our Future. Federal prosecutors allege his tiny deli claimed to be serving more than 3,000 meals twice a day, seven days a week – 1.4 million meals total. The deli didn't come close to feeding that many people.

What Ereg allegedly did with the $4.2 million he collected was move most of it into foreign accounts and use the rest to bankroll a lifestyle your tax dollars were never meant to fund. He was a fugitive and finally nabbed by the FBI after returning from Kenya to face American justice.

His wife, Najmo Ahmed, already pleaded guilty to money laundering last year. She's scheduled for sentencing this month. Najmo Ahmed, operated the grocer and laundered over $1.3 million of the illicit funds through personal bank accounts. She pleaded guilty to money laundering charges and was scheduled to face sentencing.

FBI debuts 'Most Wanted Fraudsters' list

as DOJ charges Ohio defendants in alleged $30M Medicaid scheme targeting children

Four defendants in Ohio face federal charges for allegedly billing Medicaid more than $30 million for children's mental health services that were either medically unnecessary or never delivered as claimed, funneling the proceeds into a fleet of luxury cars that included a Bentley, a McLaren, and six Mercedes-Benz vehicles, Fox News reported.

The charges came Thursday as the Justice Department rolled out a broader anti-fraud crackdown and the FBI launched a new public tool: a "Most Wanted Fraudsters" list designed to hunt down fugitives accused of large-scale schemes against taxpayer-funded programs.

Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche announced the effort at a news conference in Ohio on June 4, 2026, flanked by FBI Director Kash Patel.

Together, the two officials laid out a series of prosecutions spanning healthcare fraud, government-program theft, and consumer scams that collectively involve more than $57 million in alleged losses. The Ohio Medicaid case alone accounts for more than half that figure, and the details are worth reading slowly.

FBI Captures Top 10 Most Wanted Fugitive

The FBI announced on Saturday that it had arrested Alejandro Rosales Castillo, who has been a Ten Most Wanted Fugitive since 2017.

FBI Director Kash Parel said Castillo was arrested in Mexico on Friday. He had been wanted in connection to the 2016 murder of his former co-worker, 23-year-old “Sandy” Ly Le, in Charlotte, North Carolina.

“Alejandro Castillo is the fifth FBI Ten Most Wanted fugitive captured since last year, more than the entire previous four years combined. That reflects leadership, not luck,” Patel said in a statement.

“When law enforcement is given clear backing and the freedom to act, results follow. The work of the FBI Charlotte field office, our state and local partners, and Mexican authorities was exceptional, and this arrest finally opens the door to long-overdue justice for Sandy Ly Le’s family.”

Mass Deportation Raids Result In Arrests Increasing By 655%

Including One of India’s ‘Most Wanted’

Mass deportation raids implemented under the Trump administration has risen by an astounding 655%, with more than 200 known or suspected terrorists being caught in the process, including India’s “most wanted” man, according to a report.

The New York Post exclusively reported Homeland Security data shows that since President Donald Trump was inaugurated on January 20, Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers have captured 219 known or alleged terrorists, a 655% increase over the same time period in former President Joe Biden’s last year in office.

Harpreet Singh, a citizen of India and one of the country’s “most wanted,” entered the U.S. illegally over the southern border in 2022. Singh is accused of masterminding a grenade attack against a police officer in India and is believed to have ties to a terrorist organization in Pakistan.

A DHS official said Singh had been released into the interior of the U.S. by Border Patrol agents and a date to appear in immigration court.

DHS Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin told the Post that the Biden administration was to blame for allowing Singh to remain in the U.S. for over three years. “The Biden administration not only let a wanted terrorist into our country, but after he was arrested by Border Patrol agents, they released him into the interior of our country.”

U.S., Mexico ready to give border’s ‘Most Wanted’ program another shot

EL PASO, Texas – U.S. and Mexican officials are in talks to rekindle a binational most wanted criminals’ program with billboards and posters of the fugitives.

The last go at the program in 2021 included a confidential telephone tips hotline and the mugs of fugitives later identified as a migrant smuggling kingpin and the head of La Linea drug cartel, among others. U.S. officials have not said how many of the 10 individuals featured back then have been arrested.
