More Than 550 Commercial Driving Schools to Close After Checks by Transportation Department

The five-day, on-site investigations yielded hundreds of notices of proposed removals, alleging the schools failed to meet the agency’s basic safety standards.

The Department of Transportation announced on Feb. 18 the removal of certifications for more than 550 U.S. commercial driving schools that train truckers and bus drivers.

The schools were employing unqualified instructors, using fraudulent addresses, and failing to properly train applicants for transporting hazardous materials, investigators found.

The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration deployed more than 300 investigators across all 50 states to conduct more than 1,400 safety operations.

After the investigation revealed hundreds of safety violations, the agency served notices to more than 550 schools informing them of their proposed removal from the national training provider registry, including one school that had previously provided training for operating school buses.

The announcement is the latest development in the Trump administration’s crackdown on the commercial driving training provider industry, following the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration’s nationwide audit last year.

The Transportation Department also imposed stricter English-language skills requirements for commercial truckers, resulting in more than 9,500 being removed from service for failing proficiency checks.

Excerpt from Chris Persuad's article at the Palm Beach Post: Lake and Lucerne avenues in downtown Lake Worth Beach, from Golfview Road to the roundabout at A Street, also have prominent bike lanes now — green in some areas — but with no physical barrier separating them from parked cars on the street to their right or regular traffic on their left.

The traffic lights at the Dixie Highway intersection at both avenues are now mounted on hurricane-strength traffic pole arms.

Miami-based General Asphalt Co. worked on the project, contracting with the Transportation Department, which owns and maintains both roads. Work started in February 2024 and ended last month, the department said.

The companies working on both of these projects also upgraded crosswalk pedestrian signal systems, replaced or added road signs, added sidewalk curb ramps where there were none to meet federal disability standards and repaired pipes and water mains underground, the Transportation Department said.

🚚🇺🇸 President Donald Trump is expected to sign an executive order Monday that ensures truckers are adept at speaking English, America’s official language, Breitbart News can reveal.

A White House document on the expected executive order, reviewed by Breitbart News, aims to ensure those operating a commercial vehicle in the United States are qualified and proficient English speakers.

“President Trump believes that English is a non-negotiable safety requirement for professional drivers, as they should be able to read and understand traffic signs, communicate with traffic safety officers, border patrol, agricultural checkpoints, and cargo weight-limit station personnel, and provide and receive feedback and directions in English,” the document notes.

Under the anticipated order, Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy will be directed “to rescind and replace guidance to strengthen inspection procedures for compliance with English proficiency requirements,” per the White House document.

Migrants self-deporting amid Trump's second term

President Donald Trump has articulated an idea that has been widely mocked in the mainstream media and by Democrats, namely, that migrants should be encouraged to self-deport.

Trump got the idea to use a Biden-era app that was meant to circumvent immigration laws to instead aid illegal immigrants in the process of self-deportation.

Well, according to the administration, many of those individuals are taking advantage of the free flight home ("free" is something all liberals and criminals love) to avoid being arrested and deported. Time to go.

Biden’s app is now being used for migrants to book free flights back home without the risk of being arrested.

Many of them are reading the writing on the wall and deciding that the alternative is not worth the risk of staying here.

Secretary Sean Duffy investigates corrupt California high-speed rail project

Sean Duffy called out the California high-speed rail project as a massive government boondoggle

He criticized its cost overruns and delays, which have made it one of the most expensive and inefficient public works projects.

Duffy ordered a federal investigation into the project, questioning whether California should receive additional federal funding, given its failure to deliver on promises and growing cost estimates.

The project, once hailed by Gavin Newsom and Nancy Pelosi, has faced widespread criticism and even led to French state-owned SNCF pulling out due to California’s bureaucratic challenges, highlighting the project’s ongoing issues.

It was supposed to be finished in 2020. The cost is now expected to exceed $130 billion and would be completed in the late 2030s – if it’s ever finished.

Of course, Newsom wants to be bailed out by you, the taxpayer. I have a life-long friend who lives in Milpitas, California her entire life and is a diehard Democrat. I thank God I live in Florida, the best run state in the country.

Visitors and residents in Lake Worth Beach will soon have a new way to get around town in an environmentally friendly way.

The Lake Worth Beach Community Redevelopment Agency on Jan. 30 unanimously approved a one-year contract to fund new electric shuttles in the downtown historic district.

An agreement between the CRA and the Circuit Transit company will assist with funding the operations of up to two environmentally friendly vehicles.

Individuals will be able to request on-demand service through the use of the Circuit app for a fee or by waving down a driver.

Pete Buttigieg Ignored State Attorneys General Warnings on Holiday Airline Travel

There is so much incompetence in the Biden administration.

President Joe Biden’s Transportation Secretary, Pete Buttigieg, has ignored state attorneys general repeated requests to protect consumers and hold airlines accountable for canceling flights in the months leading up to the ongoing holiday travel fiasco.

This Christmas holiday travel season has been plagued with thousands of flight cancellations, primarily by Southwest Airlines, which failed to regain its footing after a massive winter storm hit the U.S.

Despite repeated requests from attorney generals and even Elizabeth Warren, Buttigieg’s Transportation Department failed to take meaningful action that would have prevented the ongoing holiday travel fiasco.

Instead, Buttigieg appeared on television in early September and claimed that airline travel “is going to get better by the holidays.” Buttigieg also told talk show host James Corden that the Transportation Department is “really pressing the airlines to deliver better service.”

Governor DeSantis will continue to transport illegals out of our state.

The salary of the secretary of transportation is $199,700 and Buttigieg would be 15th in line to become President. He will be in charge of a budget of $87 billion and 55,000 employees.

FDOT and its plans for 6th Avenue South

On September 15, Katie and I attended FDOT's meeting held at John Prince Park regarding the two state plans presented in order to evaluate preliminary engineering and environmentally feasible solutions, such as widening 6th Avenue South and the I-95 interchange, adding bike lanes on 6th Avenue South. This is in order to address the future capacity, operations and safety needs of the roadway. We both liked plan #2 as there was no eminent domain involved.

We were told that plan implementation, costing anywhere from $9 million to $11 million, is needed to support the growth projected in year 2040.

I can't help but think it might have to do with the Atlanta Braves and this county commission wanting to hand over 100 plus acres to them. Can you even imagine the traffic on a typical baseball day in a stadium that is expecting to hold 10,000 people? It will be slowed to a halt and bumper to bumper. 6th Avenue South is already a bottleneck. With the expected all Aboard Florida additional trains, it will be virtually impossible at that Interchange.
