Supreme court agrees with Trump

Jackson appointed by Biden; Kagan appointed by Obama; Sotomayor appointed by Geo W Bush

The Supreme Court handed the Trump Administration two small victories on Friday

On Friday, the US Supreme Court (6-3) allowed DOGE to access sensitive Social Security data.

In a separate order, the high court (6-3) also said DOGE does not have to hand over documents including communications between workers and various agencies in response to a FOIA lawsuit.

Liberal Justices Kagan, Sotomayor and Jackson dissented and would have denied the applications.

Cracking down on Government Waste and Fraud

Waste, Fraud and Dysfunction

Kim Rogalin: "Cracking down on waste isn't just about saving money; it's about restoring integrity to safety-net programs and protecting taxpayers. And if fixing this problem is not quintessential 'efficiency,' what is?"--Veronique de Rugy

"Before the election last year, nobody was talking about cutting anything...on the margin, it may still wash out pretty positive relative to the counterfactual where DOGE didn't exist."--Ryan Bourne.

"Given the incentives of federal workers and the tendency of government to only ever get bigger, it's possible to regard DOGE's work as a smashing success."—Christian Britchgi

The Competitive Enterprise Institute (CEI) estimates that the federal regulatory burden is a hidden tax costing well over $1 trillion.

The $101.4 billion of improper payments made by Medicare and Medicaid in 2023 accounted for 40% of all improper payments across the entire government that year, according to the Government Accountability Office (GAO).

But 75% of spending goes to Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, defense, veterans' benefits, and interest payments on the national debt. Those so-called "mandatory" spending programs constitute the majority of federal spending and most of the expected spending growth in the coming years. Achieving the substantial $2 trillion in savings our nation urgently needs, we must address the primary driver of federal debt: unchecked mandatory spending.

The executive branch has very limited authority with respect to spending. While there is tremendous waste and dysfunction within the federal budget, the largest problem is the government doing too many things it shouldn't and subsidizing nearly everything under the sun. Congress has primary responsibility for the size, scope, and spending of the federal government.

Large-scale federal government reform is not under the executive control. DOGE must also put together a package of budget cuts for Congress to work on. DOGE must also focus on government subsidies to private businesses and look at wasteful grant programs delivering billions of dollars to state governments.

"There is an entire industry of economists, policy wonks, and government auditors who have spent decades identifying wasteful spending and drafting savings blueprints for an ambitious Congress or president to adopt."--Jessica Ried

DOGE Investigates Unemployment Insurance Fraud

Government Paid Millions in Unemployment to People with Birthdates in 2154, DOGE Investigation Finds

American taxpayers fund a massive federal government. Much of that money is spent with little oversight. The problem has persisted across administrations with few repercussions for those responsible.

Something changed this year. The Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) began investigating government waste. Led by Elon Musk, the team started digging through records across federal agencies.

What they uncovered shocked even seasoned government watchdogs. Indeed, the findings were so bizarre that officials had to double-check the numbers.

Americans’ tax dollars were apparently going to people who haven’t even been born yet. An initial survey of Unemployment Insurance claims since 2020 revealed that thousands of people with future birthdates received benefits totaling millions of dollars.

Can you believe it? Your hard-earned money went to someone supposedly born in 2154!

The Tip of the Iceberg - Illegals getting billions in U.S. Benefits

Illegal immigrants are claiming billions of dollars worth of Medicaid and other US benefits

according to data uncovered by the head of DOGE’s border team

Antonio Gracias said around 1.3 million non-citizens are currently claiming Medicaid, at an estimated cost of around $6.5 billion.

The stark revelation came after Gracias and his team began probing the huge uptick in non-citizens who were assigned Social Security numbers last year.

The figure leapt from 400,000 in 2021, to more than two million in 2024. Among those are non-citizens who have entered the US legally on visas and green cards and who pay into the US tax system.

“And we looked at voter rolls and we found that thousands of them were registered to vote in a handful of states.”

“And then we went even further with those friendly states and found that many of those people had actually voted.”

Elon Musk discovered Democrats’ sick plan to turn illegal aliens into voters

The corruption was even worse than Elon Musk thought

Musk’s work with the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) led to earth-shattering revelations.

Elon Musk says Democrats are using fraud in social security to pay illegal aliens to remain in the country.

Democrats fought in court to keep Musk and DOGE out of the Treasury Department’s payment system.

There was a very good reason Democrats chose that as their line in the sand to fight Musk.

The left knew what Musk would find once he started combing through the Treasury Department’s books.

And, DOGE didn’t take long to bring the Democrat Party’s worst nightmares to life when discovering $4.7 trillion in payments with no description given as to what the money was for.

The Biggest Fraud in History

D.O.G.E. Reveals Social Security Chaos

Fixing Gross Waste, Abuse, Fraud, and Mismanagement

Elon Musk has shone a spotlight on what might be one of the most significant administrative nightmares within the U.S. government: the Social Security system. In a series of posts on X, Musk revealed staggering inefficiencies and potential fraud within the Social Security database.

"According to the Social Security database, these are the numbers of people in each age bucket with the death field set to FALSE! Maybe Twilight is real and there are a lot of vampires collecting Social Security," Musk posted, highlighting more than 20 million entries for individuals aged between 100 and 159, with their 'death' status incorrectly set to 'alive.'

** Musk’s chart shows 1,476,906 people who are 150 to 369 years old! The chart also shows that 20.8 million people aged 100 and older are collecting social security, while the 2020 US Census shows only 80,000 people who are aged 100 or older.

The Pew Research Center found that less than 100,000 people were over 100, and none were older than 114.

There are FAR more ‘eligible’ social security numbers than there are citizens in the USA. This might be the biggest fraud in history."

Social Security projected at 2.5% in 2025

Social Security Increase for 2025 Projected to Be 2.5 Percent, Lowest Rise Since 2021

‘Ensuring seniors have enough to feed and house themselves with dignity is a major reason why we advocate for a minimum COLA of 3,’ TSCL’s Shannon Benton said.

Social Security beneficiaries may see a modest increase in their benefits next year, with The Senior Citizens League (TSCL) forecasting on Sept. 11 that the cost-of-living adjustment (COLA) for 2025 will be 2.5 percent, the lowest level since 2021.

Though the COLA has been higher in recent years due to record inflation—notably 8.7 percent in 2023 and 5.9 percent in 2022—TSCL’s forecast suggests a return to more typical levels of benefit adjustments.

The Social Security Administration (SSA) is set to announce the official COLA for 2025 in mid-October.

Social Security Administration inefficiencies abound

Social Security Distributed Almost $72 Billion in Improper Payments

Most of the over-payments were made by the SSA to beneficiaries

“From fiscal years 2015 through 2022, SSA paid almost $8.6 trillion in benefits and made approximately $71.8 billion (0.84 percent) in improper payments, most of which were over-payments.”

The agency still had $23 billion in uncollected over-payment balance at the end of fiscal year 2023. The report cited improper payments as a “longstanding challenge” for the SSA. The agency has taken actions to remedy the situation, the OIG said.

An earlier SSA OIG report had found that the backlog of pending actions at the SSA was responsible for $1.1 billion in improper payments. SS says that it is the overall constraints they endure such as low staffing levels and high staffing turnover has caused this massive over-payment issue.

Cutting Taxes on Seniors' Social Security

Trump Calls for Ending Tax on Social Security Payments for Seniors

‘Seniors should not pay tax on Social Security,’ the former president said, debuting the policy proposal for the first time.

Donald Trump this week debuted the idea of seniors not having to pay taxes on their Social Security benefits, as he seeks to secure more voters with fewer than 100 days left before the November election.

“Seniors should not pay tax on Social Security,” the Republican presidential nominee wrote in an all-capitalized message on his Truth Social on Wednesday. That same day, he repeated that statement during a rally in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, adding that “they won’t” pay such a tax if he is elected later this year.

“No tax on Social Security for seniors, no tax on tips,” he also wrote on Thursday evening on his social media site.

According to the Social Security Administration website, some 40 percent of Americans who receive Social Security payments have to pay federal income taxes on those benefits. It notably occurs if the person has “other substantial income” on top of their monthly benefits, including wages as well as earnings from interest, dividends, self-employment, and other taxable income that has to be submitted to the IRS on their tax returns, according to the agency.

Saving Social Security

ANALYSIS: The Good and Bad in Biden's 4-Point Plan to Save Social Security

Any changes made to the program should be based on need, not age,' Social Security expert says

As Americans reach the age of retirement, the majority of them will come to depend on the Social Security trust fund benefits they've been investing in from the first day the taxes were taken out of their first paycheck. However, the $22.4 trillion funding plunge predicted in the 2023 Trustees Report could result in benefit cuts of up to 23 percent for America's retirees beginning in 2033.

Unlike Medicare, Social Security Old Age and Survivors Insurance Trust (OASI) is not heading toward bankruptcy or insolvency. As long as there are Americans working there will be money flowing into the trust fund coffers to cover the benefits of current retirees. What is at stake are the benefits of future recipients.

Those proposed changes are:
  • Taxing wages above $400,000 while leaving all earned income between $160,200 and $400,000 untaxed. As it is currently, any wages above $160,200 are exempt from Social Security tax.
  • Shifting the measure for Social Security's cost-of-living adjustments (COLAs) from the Consumer Price Index for Urban Wage Earners and Clerical Workers (CPI-W) to the Consumer Price Index for the Elderly (CPI-E)
  • Raising the Primary Insurance Amount (PIA) received by retired workers annually by 1 percent between the ages of 78 and 82, which would eventually amount to a 5 percent increase
  • Increasing the special minimum benefit for lifetime lower-wage Social Security beneficiaries to 125 percent of the federal poverty level

Social Security Increase

Social Security CPI Increase Coming!

Oct. 12 It Will Happen – But How Big Is Your Increase?

On Oct. 12, the U.S. Bureau of Labor will release the Consumer Price Index (CPI) data for the month of September. This announcement carries significant implications for millions of Social Security recipients, as it determines the annual cost-of-living adjustment (COLA) for the following year.

The Consumer Price Index (CPI) is a key economic indicator that measures changes in the prices of a basket of goods and services over time. It provides valuable insights into inflation trends, which, in turn, influence the purchasing power of individuals, particularly retirees who rely on fixed incomes like Social Security benefits. Inflation wiping away buying power for Seniors

Social Security's Buying Power Eroded by 36%

Inflation has lowered Social Security benefits’ buying power by a substantial 36% since 2000, according to The Senior Citizens League.

The average senior citizen relying on Social Security benefits would need $517 more per month to cover the cost of daily items that have risen at higher rates than Social Security’s annual cost-of-living adjustment (COLA), CNN reports.

Social Security running out of $$$$

Treasury Warns Social Security Fund Will Run Out of Money by 2033

A new government report shows that the Social Security system’s main trust fund will be depleted by 2033, one year sooner than a prior estimate, adding to concerns about the fund’s solvency.

The Treasury Department has released a report following a meeting of the Social Security Board of Trustees, in which it warns that the federal Old-Age and Survivors Insurance (OASI) Trust Fund will become “inadequate” within the next 10 years.

Trump said in January 2023, "Under no circumstances should Republicans vote to cut a single penny from Medicare or Social Security. Cut waste, fraud and abuse everywhere that we can find it and there is plenty, there's plenty of it," he continued. "But do not cut the benefits our seniors worked for and paid for their entire lives. Save Social Security, don't destroy it."

Biden will "kill social security"

Gingrich warns exactly how Joe Biden will kill Social Security

Cites estimates Democrats stripping $900 billion out of programs

Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich, who was key to the GOP takeover of the U.S. House in the 1990s and orchestrated his party's famously successful "Contract with America" for voters, says Joe Biden's new budget plan is a Social Security killer.

In an online posting, he explained, "anyone who wants to protect Social Security and Medicare should reject President Joe Biden's newly released budget."

He said it's not complicated.

Joe Biden on Social Security and Medicare

Joe Biden voted to tax social security benefits twice during his Senate career

Joe Biden was in the Senate for so long, perhaps he forgot that there was such a thing as video back then.

I bring that up because of an attack that Biden made against the GOP during his SOTU address.

The problem for Biden is that the video shows just how adamant he was to get rid of not only Medicare and social security, but he also wanted veterans benefits on the chopping block. Click to see Joe in a 19 second clip!

Biden travelled to Tampa to spout his Lies

In Florida, Biden Aims at Seniors With Disputed Social Security Claim

That's putting it mildly. In actuality, he lied!

President Joe Biden traveled on Thursday to Florida and positioned his Democratic party as the sole protector of Social Security and Medicare in an aim to reclaim the state, which has a large population of retirees who rely on the programs.

"I know that a lot of Republicans, their dream is to cut Social Security and Medicare. Well, let me say this: If that's your dream, I'm your nightmare," Biden said.

He got that one right...he is a serial liar and our worst nightmare for our country and the world at large.

Social Security Raise

They Have Just Made A MASSIVE Raise To Social Security And….

Well, it looks like millions upon millions of elderly Americans will be getting the biggest raise of their lifetime and that includes me. Of course, Biden has made me 50% more poor since he took office.

It turns out that folks who collect Social Security will be getting MUCH higher monthly payouts thanks to the annual adjustment for inflation. I guess Seniors can thank Biden for that, sort of, no really, anyway, the announcement came on Thursday, and we’re being told that this will be the highest increase in 4 decades. That's how long I paid into it.

Wow, Biden’s inflation really is HIGH, isn’t it?

Maybe people will now have enough to buy a carton of yogurt. A carton of plain, boring yogurt that I used to pay 3 bucks for is now SIX DOLLARS. It’s insane how high these prices are and honestly, I don’t know how some people are managing. I don't go out to restaurants with the frequency I did before Biden--they all raised their prices; we are all cutting way back.

Of course, there is a lot of controversy surrounding this move, which is also called a cost-of-living adjustment. Many critics believe government data is outdated and doesn’t actually reflect the struggles that seniors are facing right now in Joe Biden’s terrible economy. Also, the increase is the same for everyone, so elderly folks get the same amount regardless of where they live or if they’re wealthy. [threepercenternation]

Social Security for 2023

Social Security Checks Could Rise by 9.6 Percent in 2023

The slight decrease in inflation announced Wednesday, from 9.1% in June to 8.5% in July, is likely to bring down 2023’s Social Security cost-of-living adjustment (COLA) as well, to 9.6%.

Last month, the Social Security Administration was planning to give seniors a 10.5% boost. That would have brought the average Social Security recipient’s benefit up by $175 to $1,668 a month. We will know sometime in October

That’s now likely to be slightly smaller: a $159 bump to $1,656 a month, Barron’s reports, citing estimates by the Senior Citizens League.
