Nicolas Kimas challenging Ted Deutsch

On Thursday night at the Republican club of Central Palm Beach County's meeting, Nicolas Kimaz introduced himself as the candidate running against Ted Deutsch for U.S. Congress District 22.  He was most impressive.

Although Deutsch may be a reasonable Democrat, he's still a Democrat and therefore he will be a tough nut to overthrow. He has a stronghold in his District in Broward especially since the boundaries were re-drawn. It was redistricted several years ago.. I give Kimaz a lot of credit to get into the ring and to challenge Deutsch's do nothing record.

Both sides of the aisle on the American Healthcare Act

Iran - Missiles and Madness

Now, unless we stop this, instead of missiles, it will be a nuclear bomb. Thank you Lois Frankel, Ted Deutsch and Alcee Hastings for voting against the Iran Nuclear deal and against lifting sanctions for Iran, the enemy.

In the meantime, Benjamin Netanyahuj said, "Khamenei is not giving supporters of the agreement any room for illusion. He has made it clear that the US is the Great Satan and that Iran intends to destroy the State of Israel."

Re-Districting - Frankel and Deutch Districts

State Sen. Jeff Clemens, D-Lake Worth couldn't do it but give him an A for trying to keep congressional districts 21 and 22 running parallel to each other along eastern Broward and Palm Beach counties. The Republican argument was too big saying that it lowered to 48 percent the black voting age population of nearby District 20, a minority district subject to the Voting Rights Act.

Ban or not to Ban travel from countries with Ebola outbreaks

Politicians in the Democratic Party are disagreeing on whether there should be a travel ban from those countries with the deadly Ebola disease. Ebola is a virus that has a 90% death rate once a person is infected. It is described as "a terrible disease that has no cure or vaccine." It is rather surprising that there is any debate on this.

Patrick Murphy says YES, have a ban. (I guess when he says he has crossed Party lines 43% of the time, he's not kidding)
Alcee Hastings and Lois Frankel say NO to ban.
Ted Deutch takes the Obama line--(no surprise here) saying temporary suspensions of new Visas.

Corporations are People?

Citizens United v. Federal Election Commission that allows unrestricted campaign spending by corporations and wealthy individuals. The resolution supports an amendment by Vermont Rep. Bernie Sanders and Florida Rep. Ted Deutch that would “expressly exclude for-profit corporations from the rights given to natural persons by the Constitution of the United States, prohibit corporate spending in all elections, and affirm the authority of Congress and the states to regulate corporations and to regulate and set limits on all election contributions and expenditures.”

Other states calling on Congress for a constitutional amendment are Vermont, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Maryland, Massachusetts, Montana, New Jersey, New Mexico, Rhode Island and West Virginia.

Immigration "reform"
