The National Rifle Association (NRA) has been a boogeyman for the Left for decades. Several insurance companies ended their relationship with the NRA after NY and the gun control groups pressured them.

New York State Department of Financial Services (DFS) Superintendent Maria T. Vullo, sent out letters to insurance companies and banks warning them about working with the NRA and other gun control groups.

The thuggish conduct of New York and its government officials was so beyond the pale that the left-wing American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) came out in support of the NRA.

Justice Sonia Sotomayor – who was appointed by former President Barack Obama – wrote the opinion for the majority. “In doing so, she can rely on the merits and force of her ideas, the strength of her convictions, and her ability to inspire others. What she cannot do, however, is use the power of the State to punish or suppress disfavored expression,” Sotomayor added.

As for former President Trump, he confirmed his attendance over on Truth Social: “America needs real solutions and real leadership in this moment, not politicians and partisanship. That’s why I will keep my longtime commitment to speak in Texas at the NRA Convention and deliver an important address to America. In the meantime, we all continue to pray for the victims, their families, and for our entire nation–we are all in this together!”

Beto O’Rourke, who is running for governor, is reportedly planning to attend a protest outside the convention along with several anti-gun organizations.

The NRA convention is taking place beginning today, May 27 through the 29. Only NRA members can attend.

Overturning PLCAA

Now Rep. Adam B. Schiff, a California Democrat who has spent years pushing to overturn the gun immunity shield and trying to get laws passed, as well as other Democrats in Congress, are bringing forth legislation to over-turn that law.

Essentially the 2005 law states:

The possibility of imposing liability on an entire industry for harm that is solely caused by others is an abuse of the legal system, erodes public confidence in our Nation's laws, threatens the diminution of a basic constitutional right and civil liberty, invites the disassembly and destabilization of other industries and economic sectors lawfully competing in the free enterprise system of the United States, and constitutes an unreasonable burden on interstate and foreign commerce of the United States.

With the Democrats, this is all about their hatred of the powerful NRA and eventually the confiscation of guns, doing away with our 2nd Amendment.

Hogg wants the age of gun ownership upped to 21 but in 47 states, the age of majority and the age at which a person has the legal rights and responsibilities of an adult—is 18. You can vote at age 18. If you are considered legally responsible at the age of 18, then why up the age for certain gun ownership? Why listen to the bully kid at all?

Delta Airlines Screwed the Pooch

After eliminating a discount for NRA members, the Georgia state legislature responded by eliminating a $40 million discount on jet-fuel which had been part of a larger tax package.

Delta admitted, however, that only 13 people had taken the airline up on the NRA discount – which translates to roughly $3 million per discount in tax breaks. While one can imagine Delta looked at the low participation rate and felt the discount was an expendable token to jump on the anti-gun bandwagon, they probably didn’t see the Georgia legislature coming."
