Citizenship Verification System for Voter rolls

Florida judge orders DHS to restore voter verification database, setting up legal clash with D.C. ruling

A federal judge in Florida ordered the Department of Homeland Security to restore key features of a citizenship verification system that states use to maintain their voter rolls, ruling Tuesday that the agency violated a settlement agreement by disabling the tools under pressure from a competing court order out of Washington, D.C.

U.S. District Judge T. Kent Wetherell II found that DHS was "plainly in violation" of its deal with states, including Florida, Ohio, Iowa, and Indiana, by shutting down the bulk-upload and Social Security number search functions of the Systematic Alien Verification for Entitlements system, known as SAVE.

The ruling hands the Trump administration a significant win in its push to tighten election integrity safeguards, but it also drops DHS squarely between two federal judges issuing contradictory commands.

The order, first reported by Just The News, gives DHS until July 14 to file a status report on its compliance.

The SAVE system was enhanced under the Trump administration to better support state election integrity efforts, including the maintenance of voter rolls.

Under a 2025 settlement resolving a 2024 Florida lawsuit against the Biden administration, DHS agreed to provide states with expanded access to the database, including the ability to run bulk uploads and search by Social Security number to verify a registrant's citizenship or immigration status.

Pass the Save Act

If they oppose the SAVE Act, they should be gone. Full stop

Chris Salcedo is right: the fake two-party system survives because Republican voters keep tolerating politicians who campaign like conservatives and govern like Democrat doormen.

The SAVE Act has overwhelming public support because Americans understand the obvious: elections require citizenship, voter ID, clean rolls, and real safeguards.

Yet John Thune, John Cornyn, Bill Cassidy, and the Uniparty crowd keep hiding behind procedure while Democrats protect the fraud machine.

That is not caution. That is betrayal. If Republicans will not secure elections, primary them into retirement.

In short, we’ve been sold out by an elite few who wish to seize power, make elections a non-factor in the keeping of that power, and who wish to sacrifice our children’s future for their dark designs… If that sounds an awful lot like the world domination agenda of the communists, it’s because it is!

It's about the math of who votes and who doesn't

Save America act

Eighty-six percent of Americans support that – including majorities of Democrats and independents. The House passed it in February along party lines. Fifty Republican senators have lined up behind it.

And Chuck Schumer has his entire caucus lined up to filibuster it into the ground before the November midterms.

"It's just a cynical attempt by Donald Trump to steal the election," Schumer told donors on a Sunday call as Senate Republicans prepared to bring the bill to the floor this week.

Think about that sentence for a moment.

Requiring proof of citizenship to vote is, in Schumer's telling, stealing an election.

The man running Senate Democrats just told you that verifying voters are American citizens is something his party considers a threat.

How to get the Save Act passed

John Kennedy Just Disclosed the JD Vance Trick That Could Save the SAVE Act

John Kennedy stood on the Senate floor Wednesday and said seven words Chuck Schumer never wanted to hear.

“We can pass this bill with 50 votes.” And the move he just laid out could flip the entire SAVE Act fight before Democrats know what hit them. He’s talking about budget reconciliation – the same procedural weapon Democrats used in 2010 to ram through Obamacare after they lost their 60-vote Senate supermajority.

Here’s how it works. Budget reconciliation bills can’t be filibustered. They require only 51 votes – or 50 with JD Vance breaking the tie. Democrats used it to transform one-sixth of the American economy without a single Republican vote. Now Kennedy is asking why Republicans can’t use the exact same tool to require proof of citizenship to vote.

The SAVE America Act is simple: if you want to vote in a federal election, prove you’re a citizen. That’s it.

The House passed it in February. Every Senate Republican except Lisa Murkowski voted to advance debate this week. And Democrats are filibustering it like their lives depend on it – because their electoral survival does.

Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, who spent years telling Americans that only citizens vote, is now leading the charge to block a bill that would simply verify that claim. He told reporters his caucus is “prepared for every possible scenario” to kill it. Not slow it down. Kill it.

Majority Leader John Thune controls 53 Republican seats. He needs 60 votes to break the filibuster. He doesn’t have them – and he’s said repeatedly he won’t blow up the filibuster rule to get there.

Voter ID makes sense

But anything that makes sense is difficult to pass these days.

McConnell Blocks SAVE Act — What Happened?

What happened on the Senate floor--

Senator Mitch McConnell declined to bring the SAVE Act up for a Senate vote. The bill would have required voters to show an ID when voting, a change supported by large majorities of Americans. Conservative lawmakers and many grassroots activists are angry because the measure never got a fair vote.

Critics say McConnell and his team quietly kept the bill off the calendar instead of letting senators cast their ballots and let the public see where everyone stood.

Republican voters and several House members quickly criticized McConnell for blocking the bill. They say the move protects the old guard and big donors rather than voters.

Rep. Tim Burchett and other conservatives pushed back hard, saying voters deserve election reforms that build confidence in the system. These reactions came fast and loud on social media and at town halls, where activists demanded accountability.

What Planet is Schumer living on?

Senator Mike Lee Calls Schumer’s ‘Jim Crow 2.0’ Attack on Voter ID Bill ‘Paranoid Fantasy’

Every American knows the drill. You show ID to board a plane, buy a beer, pick up a prescription, or walk into a federal building. Try cashing a check without one. Good luck. Try starting a new job without proving who you are—your HR department will show you the door before you find your desk.

These requirements exist because identity verification matters. Nobody seriously argues otherwise.

Yet when it comes to voting—the very foundation of our constitutional republic—suddenly Democrats discover that proving you are who you say you are constitutes an unconscionable burden. Funny how that works.

The Senate is currently locked in battle over the Safeguarding American Voter Eligibility (SAVE) America Act. The legislation would require photo ID to vote in federal elections and proof of citizenship to register.

Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer has branded this common-sense measure “Jim Crow 2.0,” dragging out the darkest chapter of American segregation to describe a bill that simply asks voters to do what they already do at the DMV.

The comparison isn’t just wrong. It’s an insult to the Americans who actually suffered under Jim Crow laws.

Democrats own the Government Shutdown, again

Trump blames Democrats for shutdown

Touts falling gas prices and crime numbers aboard Air Force One

President Trump pinned the ongoing partial government shutdown squarely on Democrats Monday, telling reporters aboard Air Force One that the impasse over Department of Homeland Security funding has "nothing to do with Republicans" and accused the opposition of resisting election integrity measures because "they want to cheat in elections."

Trump spoke while flying from Palm Beach International Airport back to Washington, framing the shutdown as a consequence of Democratic obstruction on voter ID, proof-of-citizenship requirements, and immigration enforcement.

He also claimed a string of economic and public safety wins for his administration, pointing to low inflation and falling fuel costs.

The partial government shutdown continues with no deal in sight. At its center: funding for the Department of Homeland Security and a widening disagreement over what conditions come attached to it.

Every time the debate turns to border enforcement or election security, Democrats find a reason to change the subject. The SAVE Act asks for something most Americans consider common sense: prove you're a citizen before you vote. That this is a dealbreaker tells you everything about Democratic priorities.

Voter ID

The SAVE ACT / SAVE AMERICA ACT

passed the house and we have 48 US Senators supporting the bill to require photo ID and proof of citizenship to vote in US elections

RINO Globalist Republican Senator Lisa Murkowski has come out against the bill (DC # (202) 224-6665 ) and really needs a strong GOP primary challenger in 2028!

Our current hurdle is the 60-vote filibuster rule, where 60 Senators must vote for cloture for the bill to advance, and then 51 votes are needed to send the bill to President Trump's desk, where he has indicated he wants to sign it.

The filibuster rule in the past helped us defeat Amnesty legislation 8 times in DC that would have already added 10+ million illegals to the Democrats' voter base, making today's efforts to save the nation and Trump's election wins impossible. [ALIPAC]

Save Act

No one is buying the Democrats’ gender war attacks on voter ID and the SAVE Act

Estimates for the total number of illegal immigrants living in the United States range from 11 million to 18 million, with Democrats often pushing the former number and Republicans the latter.

For the sake of argument says The Washington Examiner, let’s say the Center for Immigration Studies’s March study is correct, and the number is approximately 16 million.

With such a massive noncitizen population, it is obvious that serious steps should be taken to ensure that only citizens vote. To oppose such a move is strong evidence of bad faith and nefarious purpose.

The Safeguard American Voter Eligibility Act, also known as the SAVE Act, is a proposed United States law that would amend the National Voter Registration Act of 1993 to require "documentary proof of United States citizenship" to register to vote.

Make Elections Great Again Act (MEGA Act)

The Save Act

Remember when Democrats blocked the SAVE Act in the Senate last year?

They celebrated like they'd won the war on election integrity.

House Republicans just proved them spectacularly wrong with a bill that resurrects everything Democrats spent 2025 fighting against.

House Administration Committee Chairman Bryan Steil rolled out the Make Elections Great Again Act on Thursday – citizenship verification, voter ID nationwide, mail ballot restrictions, and paper ballot requirements all in one package.
  • The Wisconsin Republican brought back Chip Roy's citizenship check provision that Democrats killed in the Senate.
  • Then he added photo ID requirements at every polling place in America.
  • Then he banned states from automatically mailing ballots to all registered voters.
  • Then he eliminated ranked-choice voting in federal elections and required paper ballots instead of electronic systems.
  • Every single reform Democrats blocked last year, now combined into one bill, all before November's midterms.

The SAVE ACT

The SAVE Act ensures that ONLY US CITIZENS can vote in our elections

" ILLEGALS are voting in elections because there is no national requirement for states to mandate proof of citizenship before they register to vote. Democrats have been using this to their advantage, and enough is enough.

MILLIONS of illegals have been harbored in their sanctuary cities to destroy the America First agenda by voting Blue.

The SAVE Act will put an end to all of this, and the GOP and I have passed this, but Senate Democrats CONTINUE to block our efforts.

It’s no coincidence that the blue states that harbor the most illegals have the most illegals voting in their elections. And without the SAVE Act, Democrats can continue to get away with this insanity.

The age of non-citizens being able to vote in our elections is OVER, and we must send the message that America will not tolerate Illegals voting in our elections."

BYRON DONALDS

Passed the House on April 10, 2025.

Safeguard American Voter Eligibility (SAVE) Act (H.R. 22) on April 10, 2025, by a narrow vote of 220-208, requiring proof of U.S. citizenship for voter registration, with Democrats crossing the aisle to support it.

The following four Democrats voted to pass the bill through Congress:

Jared Golden, ME, Marie Gluesenkamp Perez, WA, Henry Cuellar, TX, Ed Case, HI

It will take seven Democrats in the Senate to pass the bill. Lots of luck to that.

SAVE Act

Trump administration delivers decisive end to Biden's student loan relief plan

The Trump administration has dropped a bombshell by proposing a settlement to obliterate the Biden-era SAVE student loan plan, a program once hailed as a lifeline for millions of borrowers, as Fox Business reports.

This move, awaiting court approval, aims to shut down the controversial relief scheme and transition participants to legally sound repayment options, ensuring taxpayers aren’t left holding the bag for others’ debts.

Let’s turn back the clock to 2023, when the Biden administration unveiled the SAVE plan with grand promises of easing the repayment burden for struggling student loan holders. That rosy vision quickly hit a wall as states like Missouri, joined by six others, launched lawsuits in 2024 to challenge the program’s legality.

A federal judge stepped in, blocking parts of the plan and forcing borrowers into a temporary 0% interest forbearance while the courtroom drama unfolded.

By February of this year, the 8th Circuit Court delivered a knockout punch, halting the entire SAVE initiative, with interest resuming for borrowers by August of that year.

For four years, the Biden administration sought to unlawfully shift student loan debt onto American taxpayers, many of whom either never took out a loan to finance their postsecondary education or never even went to college themselves, simply for a political win to prop up a failing administration.”

With the Trump administration’s settlement on the table, the SAVE plan’s demise seems imminent.

Pending court approval, no new enrollments will be permitted, pending applications will be denied, and current participants must pick new repayment plans in a tight window, a bitter pill but perhaps a necessary dose of reality.

SAVE ACT - Must have proof of citizenship to vote

SAVE Act passed by Congress

As the U.S. House votes to pass the SAVE Act, legislatures nationwide are addressing election administration in their states.

On April 10, the U.S. House of Representatives voted 220-208 to pass the Safeguard American Voter Eligibility (SAVE) Act (H.R.22). According to the Congressional Research Service's (CRS) summary, the bill "prohibits states from accepting and processing an application to register to vote in a federal election unless the applicant presents documentary proof of U.S. citizenship.”

Meanwhile, state legislatures in Kansas, Iowa, Virginia, and West Virginia have acted on recent bills on election administration:

• On April 10, the Kansas Legislature overrode Gov. Laura Kelly's (D) veto of SB5, a bill prohibiting the use of federal funds for election-related activities in the state. On March 25, the legislature overrode Kelly's veto of SB4, a bill that changes the deadline for county election officers to receive mail-in ballots.
• On April 7, the Iowa Senate approved HF954, a bill that would allow poll workers to challenge voters' citizenship, ban ranked-choice voting, and require political parties to receive at least 2% of the vote in three consecutive general elections to be considered a major political party. The bill now heads to Gov. Kim Reynolds' (R) desk.
• On April 2, Virginia Gov. Glenn Youngkin (R) vetoed 15 bills on election administration. For a closer look at each bill, click here.
• On April 7, the West Virginia House of Delegates approved a bill requiring municipalities to hold their elections on the same day as state elections. Legislators passed SB50 by a 96 to 2 vote, and the bill now returns to the Senate to consider House amendments.

Mitch McConnell wants to cave on government funding

Donald Trump gave Mitch McConnell this huge election ultimatum

RINO Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell is the leader of the surrender caucus. That puts him in conflict with Donald Trump.

And Donald Trump gave Mitch McConnell this huge election ultimatum. Government funding runs out on October 1.

McConnell’s already trying to throw in the towel and agree to fully fund Kamala Harris’ agenda without putting up a fight. Donald Trump has other ideas.

In a message posted to Truth Social, Trump declared that Republicans should reject any spending bill unless the SAVE Act is attached.

The SAVE Act makes it illegal for non-citizens to register to vote and would close loopholes that allow illegal aliens to get on the voter rolls.

Important message from Rick Scott on Save Act

As Americans, protecting the integrity on our elections should be our number one priority

"This begins with making sure only U.S. citizens can cast the votes that determine the future of our nation.

Unfortunately, that is not guaranteed today.

Recently, there has been thousands of non-citizens removed from voter rolls across the country. We cannot ignore this threat to our democratic process. I was proud to see my SAVE Act pass the House earlier this summer with bipartisan support, and have been fighting to get it done here in the United States Senate.

However, Senate Leadership and Democrats are dragging their feet every step of the way. In fact, they've ignored the problem since day one of the Biden-Harris administration when “Border Czar” Harris opened the floodgates to allow millions of illegal immigrants into our country.

We cannot allow anything to undermine the integrity of our elections. That’s why I am demanding that when we pass a continuing resolution to fund the government in September, we include the SAVE Act as part of that funding bill.

As your United States Senator, I won’t stop fighting to make sure your vote is protected and the Biden-Harris border crisis doesn’t rob your voice at the ballot box."

Senator Rick Scott

The SAVE Act is a bill to amend the National Voter Registration Act of 1993 to require proof of United States citizenship to register an individual to vote in elections for Federal office, and for other purposes. Democrats seem to like illegals voting and the Border Czar has never been to our border.

The Save Act

The Drowsy Socialist Democrats

"with their black berets and chai tea, will do just about everything and anything to allow illegal aliens to vote and influence our elections. That’s why they killed the SAVE Act in the Senate, but not all hope’s lost.

They know full well that the Border Czar, Kamala Harris (she/her, the woman wearing a blue dress), has no chance of winning a legitimate election against Donald Trump. The SAVE Act, which I introduced with Senator Mike Lee in Congress, makes the Looney Tune Liberals more nervous than Biden on MiraLAX.

But here’s the catch: Speaker Johnson and Republicans in the House can FORCE passage of the Save Act by attaching it to the next continuing resolution. To avoid a shutdown, the resolution must be passed by September 30th. The SAVE Act can still become law."

Senator John N. Kennedy
