Brazil’s Supreme Court stated that it rejected U.S. attempts to challenge its authority

The U.S. Treasury Department stated on July 30 that it has sanctioned Brazilian Supreme Court Justice Alexandre de Moraes, accusing him of targeting political opponents and suppressing free speech.

De Moraes is overseeing the case against former President Jair Bolsonaro, who is accused of involvement in an alleged coup attempt on Jan. 8, 2023. The Supreme Court justice imposed restrictions on the former president on July 18. The restrictions included an ankle monitor, a ban on social media use, and no contact with foreign embassies.

The sanction comes amid escalating tensions between Washington and Brasília over the treatment of Bolsonaro, with the Trump administration tying trade policy and high tariffs on Brazilian imports to concerns over censorship in the country.

“Alexandre de Moraes has taken it upon himself to be judge and jury in an unlawful witch hunt against U.S. and Brazilian citizens and companies,” Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said in the statement.

Trump signed an order on July 30, implementing an additional 40 percent tariff on imports from Brazil, bringing the total tariff amount on the country to 50 percent.

If you need proof that the trials and cases against Donald Trump are nothing more than a witch hunt, then looking at how Jack Smith has handled the Jan. 6-related case against he former president should tell you all you need to know.

Smith and other liberals were so desperate to get Trump on ANYTHING illegal they might find, that they may have damaged their case against the former president beyond repair.

The New York State Commission on Judicial Conduct has launched an investigation into a New York attorney’s claim that he advised Judge Arthur Engoron in the case against former President Donald Trump.

Attorney Adam Leitman Bailey told WNBC-TV that he had a courthouse conversation with Engoron three weeks before the judge would slap Trump with a $454 million penalty for "fraudulently" inflating the value of his assets.

New York judges are barred from considering outside opinions in such a way when litigating a case, yet Bailey said he discussed the legal questions at length with the judge and told him he was making a big mistake.

According to the New York State Rules of Judicial Conduct, “a judge shall not initiate, permit, or consider ex parte communications, or consider other communications made to the judge outside the presence of the parties or their lawyers.”

Bragg is gearing up to charge Trump with paying hush money to a porn star to hide an affair. Cohen is supposed to testify about arranging the payment on Trump’s orders.
