‘Socialist’ Suspect Arrested After Attack On Pennsylvania Governor’s Home

Pennsylvania authorities arrested a suspect in connection with the alleged arson of Democratic Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro’s residence.

Cody Balmer, 38, was charged with attempted murder, terrorism, aggravated arson, burglary and other related offenses, according to the Dauphin County District Attorney’s office and the police criminal affidavit.

The suspect allegedly hopped the fence outside of Shapiro’s Harrisburg home and “actively evaded troopers” who were searching for him before entering the residence, setting it on fire and then leaving, Pennsylvania State Police Lt. Col. George Bivens said during a Sunday afternoon press conference.

Shapiro, his wife and their children were at home sleeping during the attack. When Balmer was asked by police what he would have done if he had found Shapiro, he said he would have bludgeoned him with a hammer, according to the affidavit.

Balmer appeared to have admitted on social media that he is a “registered socialist” on Facebook, supported Black Lives Matter and was critical of MAGA, Christians and the Second Amendment. He last voted in the 2022 general election, but is not registered with any political party, according to PhillyBurbs.

Donald Trump's running mate J.D. Vance tried to stoke a split Democrats are hoping to avoid, claiming Kamala Harris didn't pick Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro due to 'antisemitism' in her own party.

Vance made the comment as some Republican strategists welcomed the selection of Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz as her running mate, believing Democrats left one of their top talents on the bench by picking the more understated – some say boring – Walz as her running mate.

'Well, look, if it’s not, Josh Shapiro ... I think that they will have not picked Shapiro, frankly, out of anti-Semitism in their own caucus and in their own party. I think it’s disgraceful that the Democrats have gotten to this point where it’s even an open conversation, and it is an open conversation,' Vance told conservative talk host Hugh Hewitt Tuesday morning.

In Shapiro, Harris had a potential running mate who had outperformed Joe Biden in his home state, and might have helped Harris even in three congressional districts held by Republicans.

With the midterms come and gone and Democrats comfortably back in control of the Senate, investigations and indictments against liberals are finally allowed to come to light that might have changed the election.

The Washington Free Beacon writes, “Pennsylvania governor-elect Josh Shapiro, who rose to prominence by downplaying Republican claims of voter fraud, charged one of his former campaign consultants on Wednesday with “wide scale” forgery of voter ballots.

Josh Shapiro declared that he was charging his own campaign employees with massive voter fraud. In an announcement when he was still attorney general, his office said, “Attorney General Josh Shapiro today announced the arrest of Rasheen Crews, a Philadelphia political consultant, for charges related to forging signatures on nomination petitions to get his clients on the ballot for the 2019 Democratic primary races in Philadelphia.

Democrats succeeded by building an entire campaign against “election deniers” and claimed that election fraud never happens, especially in Philadelphia.
