Special Election April 10 - Tami Donnally needs your vote

This is a noble effort on the part of Tami Donnally and democracy in action. Everyone should have an opponent.  No one should walk into office. Drew Martin believed that when he ran against Pam Triolo for mayor of Lake Worth.

Her opponent, Lori Berman, has made years of connections in Tallahassee when she was a state representative. She seized on the opportunity to run for state senate when Jeff Clemens (silly guy) resigned. She was going to be term limited anyway. Her financial reports indicate that she has $367,101.81 with many PACs and special interests giving a lot of money with $1,000 contributions from many.

Tami.Donnally has received 99.99% of her contributions from the grassroots and she received two large contributions of $1,000, one of which was from the Republican Party. She has reported $12,251.

So I urge every Republican and every conservative to get to the polls tomorrow that are opened from 7am to 7pm.

You can't win an election with no money but you can win if voters turn out to support a fiscally responsible conservative such as Tami Donnally. It could be a David and Goliath moment. Tami is who we need in Tallahassee.

Dr. Robert Avossa was the speaker last night. After listening to him, I am 100% convinced that he is worth every penny we pay him (around $335,0000 a year). He is in his third year of leadership of the Palm Beach County School District. The District is the 11th largest district in the country with a student enrollment of more than 193,000 students. The annual budget exceeds $2.4 billion and the District is the largest employer in Palm Beach County with over 23,000 employees. Since accepting the role of Superintendent, Dr. Avossa has redirected $5.5 million of the District budget back to Title I schools to support teaching and learning. He has also allotted 6% in salary increases to personnel, including an increase of the minimum District wage to $10 per hour, and an increase to $14 per hour for bus drivers, making them the highest paid in South Florida

The Vice Mayor of Lake Worth, Scott Maxwell,  spoke to the group about the achievements in Lake Worth such as the $40 million road improvement project and particularly the electric rate parity with FPL. He did say that local politics is no longer non-partisan. Maxwell's opposition in District 1 is Sarah Parr Malega and the general election is on March 13th.

Tami Donnally, running against Democrat Lori Berman for District 31 State Senate, believes we must cut government waste; Improve education so that every child has a chance for success; Lower taxes so that you keep more of your hard-earned money; cut the red tape so small businesses can grow and fight the opioid epidemic. A special election is scheduled for April 10 after Jeff Clemens resigned costing the County an estimated $1 million according to Susan Bucher..

This was an easy win for Berman. She now will be facing Tami Donnally, Vice Chair of the Palm Beach County Republican Party in the Special General election on April 10th

Jeff Clemens gave his District a special present for the New Year and what a shocker it was.  He resigned (we won't mention why as everyone already knows why) from his Florida senate seat. I just don't know why he got involved with a total loser who ended up destroying his career. I hope Devon West gets her own little bit of karma in the new year.

Tami L. Donnally is unopposed in the Republican primary. It's hard to beat a Democrat in this district but her campaign is going well she told me.

A special election for the position of Florida State Senate District 31 has been called for April 10, 2018. A special primary election has been called for January 30, 2018. The candidate filing deadline was December 6, 2017

Democrats, State Rep. Lori Berman of Lantana and Arthur Morrison of West Palm Beach and Palm Beach County Republican Party's Vice Chair Tami Donnally have qualified for the Senate District 31 race that was held by Jeff Clemens.

The last special election for the Florida Legislature in Palm Beach County, in 2009, cost about $1.5 million according to Palm Beach County Supervisor of Elections Susan Bucher. Jeff, you don't mind me calling you a jerk, do you?

County GOP Vice Chairwoman Tami Donnally from Lake Worth who lost state House races in 2010 and 2012 in Democrat-tilted districts, says she’s considering a run for the District 31 Senate seat. Palm Beach county overall is predominantly Democratic registered voters.

Those already committed to run are Lori Berman and Irv Slosberg, both Democrats.

Gov. Rick Scott has set a Jan. 30 primary date and April 10 general election to fill the District 31 Senate seat.
