Graham Platner told reporters he had no idea the skull-and-crossbones inked on his chest was a symbol of the Nazi SS. His ex-girlfriend says that's a lie, and that he used to call it by its German name.

Lyndsey Fifield, a 40-year-old Republican campaign worker from Virginia who dated Platner from 2013 to 2015, told The New York Times that the Democratic Maine Senate candidate referred to the tattoo as "my Totenkopf" and joked openly about its Nazi origins. The Totenkopf, a death's-head skull, is widely recognized as a symbol of the SS units responsible for the murder of six million Jews during the Holocaust.

Platner's campaign told The Times he "strongly disputes" Fifield's account. But her claims land at a moment when the candidate can least afford another credibility problem. Details of his extramarital sexts with roughly half a dozen women had already roiled his campaign over the weekend.

An elected official calling Trump a Nazi or fascist is not only historically illiterate, it’s a deliberate smear designed to delegitimize the opponents of the liberal democrats. The real authoritarian impulse in America today comes from the left, which seeks to silence dissent, weaponize institutions, and destabilize the military by suggesting they should disobey lawful orders.

The official has invoked Judgment at Nuremberg (1961) to argue that American soldiers should refuse Trump’s orders if they “think” they are illegal. Let’s analyze this:

There has never been a single documented case of Trump issuing an illegal order to the military. Zero. None.

Implication:
By telling soldiers to second-guess lawful commands, Democrats are undermining military cohesion and discipline. That is dangerous, destabilizing, and traitorous in nature.

Historical distortion:

"Former President Donald Trump fired back Wednesday after Vice President Kamala Harris called an emergency press conference and compared him to Hitler. Speaking from her private residence in Washington, D.C., Harris accused Trump of wanting “unchecked” power and a “military-like Adolf Hitler had.”

Harris repeated claims recently made by Trump’s ex-chief of Staff, John Kelly (who he fired in 2018 and has a personal grudge). A retired Marine general, Kelly has recently embarked on a media tour, claiming that Trump is a secret fascist who praised Hitler behind closed doors.

“It is clear from John Kelly’s words that Donald Trump is someone who, I quote, ‘certainly falls into the general definition of fascists,’ who in fact vowed to be a dictator on day one and vowed to use the military as his personal militia to carry out his personal and political vendettas,” Harris told reporters Wednesday.

Shortly after, Trump shot back on social media, writing that Harris’ emergency press conference was a sign of her campaign becoming desperate.
