Governor DeSantis wants to keep Florida sunny

Banning Geoengineering and weather modification

Ron DeSantis @GovRonDeSantis

"I support the bill by Senator @IleanaGarciaUSA to ban geoengineering and weather modification.

The Florida house, though, has gutted the bill and actually codified the practices.

We don’t want to indulge this nonsense in Florida, where we are proud of our sunshine."

Hear what our governor has to say--

Florida is well-known for its sunshine, hundreds of miles of beautiful white sandy beaches, and clear turquoise waters.

Ron DeSantis is calling on the legislature to keep Florida sunny by banning geoengineering and weather modification.

Inauguration Day Weather

An Arctic blast will give Trump the coldest inauguration in 40 years

CNN — The coldest air of winter so far will blast into Washington, DC, on Monday as President-elect Donald Trump stands up in front of the capitol to take his oath of office.

The temperature on Inauguration Day at noon — when the president-elect swears in — is expected to be in the low-20s, which is around 20 degrees below normal.

It will likely be the coldest Inauguration Day since President Ronald Reagan’s second inauguration in 1985 when the noon temperature was 7 degrees. The noon temperature was 28 degrees for President Obama’s first inauguration in 2009.

Winds of 10 to 20 mph with gusts up to 30 mph are likely Monday. These winds will make conditions feel downright frigid. Wind chills are likely to hover around 10 degrees during the daylight hours Monday and could drop into the single digits after sundown.

NOAA’s monthly and yearly reports are not representative of reality

“NOAA fabricates temperature data for more than 30 percent of the 1,218 USHCN reporting stations that no longer exist.”

“They are physically gone—but still report data—like magic,” said Lt. Col. John Shewchuk, a certified consulting meteorologist.

“NOAA fabricates temperature data for more than 30 percent of the 1,218 USHCN reporting stations that no longer exist.”

He calls them “ghost” stations.

Mr. Shewchuck said USHCN stations reached a maximum of 1,218 stations in 1957, but after 1990 the number of active stations began declining due to aging equipment and personnel retirements.

NOAA still records data from these ghost stations by taking the temperature readings from surrounding stations, and recording their average for the ghost station, followed by an “E,” for estimate.

"I thought the pier was going to blow away"

Just for the fun of it:' People watch waves, wind at Lake Worth Beach

At Benny's on the Beach in Lake Worth Beach, Palm Beach County residents watched as the storm rolled in on Saturday afternoon.

"I came out here to get some food and some drinks with my cousin and see the rain from the pier, honestly. That's why we came here," Brian Kiewicz said. "Tornado, hurricane conditions, honestly, like, I thought the pier was going to blow away."

The city of Lake Worth Beach closed the pier for the weekend, citing the inclement weather.

Heavy winds and large surf are also why lifeguards throughout Palm Beach County flew double red flags Saturday, closing the water to swimmers.

Waterspout across Intracoastal from Harvard Drive College Park area

UPDATE--SEE 2ND SPOUT BELOW
I was sent this photo just now by a Lake Worth resident who took this photo of a waterspout across from her home. Waterspouts can do a lot of damage.

From the photo it looks like a "Tornadic waterspout," also accurately referred to as "tornadoes over water," are formed from mesocyclones in a manner essentially identical to land-based tornadoes in connection with severe thunderstorms, but simply occurring over water.

It was reported that this was moving down the coast. Has anyone ever seen a waterspout before? I just got a severe weather alert on my phone until 6:15.

Colorado's snowpack is 40 times normal after rare summer solstice dump

Even before the snow on the first day of summer, The Denver Post wrote, the state's snowpack was "in virtually every numerical sense--off the charts."

Baby Iguana affected by our cold weather

Just found this guy on our lawn--At first I thought it was a Cuban Anole but decided it was a young Iguana.

Dead to the touch but "these cold-blooded reptiles go into a deep sleep when the temperature falls into the 40s Fahrenheit.. Their bodies turn gray, and they lose their grip, experts say." He has about 15 more minutes of sun in this spot.  Not good for his survival as tonight it will be in the 30's.

Hopefully, this little guy will awaken.
