The Air Force has confirmed the reports were leaked to a Democrat oppo research firm.

Politico reported, “According to Federal Election Commission records, the DCCC paid Due Diligence just over $110,000 between January 2021 and December 2022 and the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee paid just over $172,000 to Due Diligence during that period.”

Lake Worth's own Jeff Clemens, D-Lake Worth, has proposed a law that would prohibit an employer from requesting the user name, password, or any other means of accessing the social media accounts of employees or prospective employees. Employers would be barred from retaliating against employees who refuse. The legislation also would prohibit employers from refusing to hire a prospective employee who refuses access to a social media account. Source:  Sun Sentinel

I agree with Jeff on this one. Government should not intrude into your personal life nor should an employer. Your Facebook page is for you and your friends to socialize. Employers who would demand your password are going too far. It's unreasonable and it's invasive to your right to privacy. They can conduct their background checks using conventional means.

(b) A person, a state agency, or a political subdivision … may not use a drone equipped with an imaging device to record an image of privately owned real property or of the owner, tenant, occupant, invitee, or licensee of such property with the intent to conduct surveillance on the individual or property captured in the image in violation of such person’s reasonable expectation of privacy without his or her written consent. For purposes of this section, a person is presumed to have a reasonable expectation of privacy on his or her privately owned real property if he or she is not observable by persons located at ground level in a place where they have a legal right to be, regardless of whether he or she is observable from the air with the use of a drone.

Jeff Clemens was on the short end of the stick on this vote as the only state senator to vote "no."  The Florida House vote was 113 yes and 1 no.

Florida public schools may no longer collect or use what's known as biometric data (fingerprint or hand scan, a retina or iris scan, a voice print, or a facial geometry scan) from students under an education data privacy measure passed by the Legislature on Friday. Hazel Rogers, D- Lauderhill, voting no. The Senate approved its bill last month 38-1, with only Lake Worth Democrat Jeff Clemens voting in opposition.

Someone asked me once, "Lynn, if you are such a conservative, how come you like Bernie Sanders... I am surprised."

I like him because he has instigated some bills that make sense. Being a conservative Democrat is placing yourself in the minority of the Party that is for sure.  Bernie Sanders introduced a bill (S-1168) on Friday that would put an end to open-ended court orders that have resulted in wholesale data mining by the NSA and FBI. Instead, the government would be required to provide reasonable suspicion to justify searches for each record or document that it wants to examine.

“We must give our intelligence and law enforcement agencies all of the tools that they need to combat terrorism but we must do so in a way that protects our freedom and respects the Constitution’s ban on unreasonable searches,” Sanders said.
