My nurse friend at the V.A. just called and told me to be sure to wear gloves...don't touch anything without gloves. He said they are counting the body bags in New York and caskets are piling up, one on top of the other. The medical profession wants to scare everyone to death!

Vice Mayor of Lake Worth, Scott Maxwell, spoke before the Palm Beach County Commission yesterday giving all the reasons why he wants the Atlanta Braves to come to John Prince Park. He and I had a brief encounter prior to the meeting--
Scott: Don't take my picture.
Me: You are a public figure in a public building.
Scott: Stop following me around.
Me: That's the last thing I would want to do.
Scott is not shy about publicity and is a total bulldog for getting his way (trampling over residents in his own district) even carrying a baseball bat but doesn't like his photo taken? The truth is he hates resistance. Everyone should shut the hell up unless they agree with him.

How did Angela Dorothea Merkel become Time Magazine's Person of the Year? It should have been Donald Trump. Look what she's done to her own country!... and to Europe and the world at large. According to the Gatestone Institute, asylum seekers are increasingly using tactics such as hunger strikes, lawsuits and threats of violence in efforts to force German authorities to comply with an ever-growing list of demands. And school girls have been asked to cover their arms and legs so as not to "offend" or provoke sexual assaults by Muslim men.And as Trump would say, It's a mess in Germany
And now Muslims are walking around like Storm-troopers enforcing Sharia law in Germany!

Yesterday Lynn's Little Bit of Trivia hit the 2 million mark. For a little local conservative blog, I was not sure that I could do it. When it was started, I was getting 50 hits a day. Readers from Lake Worth enjoy a perspective that may not always agree with City Hall. We try to keep up on the facts and attend every city commission meeting.
There are two distinct political factions in our city and one other faction that is not too vocally prominent--that of the conservative middle that I like to call the silent majority. These are the people I think about when I am writing as I know that I will never make a dent in the mind of the "growth at any cost" crowd or the atheist socialist crowd, the liberals and far-left.
Lake Worth is overwhelmingly a "progressive" city loaded with Democrats that don't seem to agree on the really important issues facing our city or country or living within a budget that they control. There is constant in-fighting and back-stabbing and everyone is "right." There are liberals who won't admit the truth on policies they hate when it comes to their own city...It's sort of like a 'love it or leave it' attitude. Illegals have taken over, homeless all over the place and crime galore. They think it only affects the western side of the railroad tracks, out of sight, out of mind, and then they tell you to your face that they love Lake Worth and its diversity but wonder why their property values are stagnant or why retail business is not re-locating here fast enough.
It's been interesting writing this blog and I want to thank all my readers even those who keep me on my toes and crack me on my head every now and then. There's a lot in which we agree and just enough diverse political opinion to make it all worthwhile. Sometimes it seems that issues are impossible to solve. It's like that snowball rolling down a hill. It gets so huge and out of control and then the people suffer. Politics is, after all, what makes the world go round. Leadership is the key.

1. Illegal aliens are here illegally.
2. Pro-domestic employment is indispensable.
3. A strong military is essential.
4. Special interests must be eliminated.
5. Gun ownership is sacred.
6. Government must be downsized.
7. The national budget must be balanced.
8. Deficit spending must end.
9. Bailout and stimulus plans are illegal.
10. Reducing personal income taxes is a must.
11. Reducing business income taxes is mandatory.
12. Political offices must be available to average citizens.

As some bullies continue to accuse some of us of being Tea Partiers, something that they obviously choose to believe is against all good common sense or Un-American and subversive to boot, I believe that the Tea Party values are important for this country's survival. Because of negative propaganda, Tea Party numbers fell but now are on the rise again. All bullies are on missions to prove to anyone who will listen that anyone who has actual values and disagrees with them is the problem. They continually bring them down and demean them. It gets so damn stupid and boring.
Preamble: The Tea Party Movement is an all-inclusive American grassroots movement with the belief that everyone is created equal and deserves an equal opportunity to thrive in these United States where they may “pursue life, liberty and happiness” as stated in the Declaration of Independence and guaranteed by the Constitution of the United States.
No one is excluded from participation in the Tea Party Movement whose platform makes sense. You don't have to be a Tea Party member to know what's right nor do you have to be a member to know who is divisive and bad for America.

Policy - Social Media and this blog

There is a balancing act when writing a blog or writing to your Facebook page or other social media. The biggest challenge is our First Amendment, as free speech is what separates this country from many in the world where people are suppressed and extreme actions are used against them, even death for stating an opinion or speaking out. That is why Freedom of Speech is so important to me. There are many who come here to comment and those comments are weighed as carefully as I can scrutinize them, to consider what's acceptable, what may not be and if freedom of speech is being impugned in any way if I choose not to publish them.
Lynn's Little bit of Trivia has had a comment policy since inception. Because of the explosive politics in this city, I spend way too much time monitoring each comment. The basis for me in making a decision whether to launch or not derives from whether I believe the comment is truthful and is not a personal attack. Some slip through. It is impossible to catch all of them as this blog has had 33,199 comments.
I have decided to not accept any more comments on the N word issue, pro or con on the subject. People have pretty much made up their minds, thanks in some respects to politics, that someone is guilty or not guilty of the charge. Let's hope that if you ever have to be tried by a jury in this country, that the jury hasn't already considered you guilty based on no evidence other than someone saying you are.

My Vintage Ceramic Christmas Tree

I seldom visit flea markets but when I do, sometimes I spot something really fun and interesting. This little ceramic tree is one of those times. It brought back memories of a time past, very happy times when my family was still alive and Christmas was a super special family day.
Many of you are just not old enough but those who are might remember the 1960-1970's when these little ceramic trees were very popular. Our artist population in Lake Worth should appreciate this. The little trees came about by people who wanted to create their own gifts and decided to learn how to paint and do their own ceramics.
"This lead to holiday decorations and several different ceramic mold companies in the Midwest started producing their own version of the now classic Ceramic Christmas Tree. The earliest versions of trees had tiny electric bulbs that lit individually. As technology developed in plastics and lighting, the older versions of tiny individual bulbs were replaced by trees that lit from within using only one light bulb to light an entire tree that is decorated with small, colorful plastic bulbs." That is how my tree is lighted--with one single bulb.
"Vintage trees from this era are painted in a variety of colors, styles and textures. Some are glazed, some finished in acryllic paint, some with snow and many without, but one thing is clear --- people still love those remarkable handmade ceramic Christmas Trees! Since these trees are made from fired clay, little care is required, making them perfect for holiday decorations and gifts that easily last many, many years." Read more at Ceramic Christmas Trees.
I bought mine for $3 and it could be worth over $135. The value is limitless as far as memories and just the simplistic beauty of it.

Have a wonderful Thanksgiving Day

Would the Pilgrims ever have imagined what our world would be like today? Religious freedom was so important to them and they still gave thanks to God at that first Thanksgiving day in 1621 in spite of all the death and hardships they endured. We enjoy so many blessings and take many for granted. We live in a great country, one in which gives us every opportunity imaginable to succeed and live a happy life in spite of our race, creed or gender. Lately, some people have forgotten that and have lost their way.

Wes Blackman just got hit with a Monkey Wrench

On March 17, 2014, the Florida Elections Commission received a sworn complaint against Citizens Come First PAC (principals were Laurence McNamara, President and Lynn Anderson, Treasurer). After extensive time and investigation of the matter, it was heard by the Commission on October 29, 2014.
During the course of the investigation, the Investigative Team found that the complainant, Charles Wesley Blackman, had one prior case against him that resulted in an automatic fine of $1,500 on November 15, 2011. At one time, Mr. McNamara had one other complaint from a College Park resident, that involved two, fifty dollar donations to a campaign as both being given by him when in fact one was his wife's. He was not fined. This complainant was caught stealing and removing Mark Drautz signs.
In this city, you must cross your t's and dot your I's as there are always people with nothing better to do that will scrutinize everything in order to have a "gotcha" and try and make your life miserable by the most trivial and frivolous of charges. They thrive on it and it keeps their hate alive, a reason for them to live.

My Beautiful Mother

I wrote the following 4 years ago but the words and the love are there forever.
Abraham Lincoln said it so sweetly, “All that I am or hope to be, I owe to my angel Mother.”
All mothers are just that even if you don’t think so at the time. I had the sweetest of mothers. I never heard her say anything unkind about anyone except perhaps one time. I guess that’s why I remember it; it was so rare. A neighbor was bugging the Board of Directors and she said, “She was always a pain in the ass.” Other than that, she accepted people the way they were in spite of the flaws and personality quirks that we all have from time to time and in spite of our difference of opinions. She always saw the “good” and did not dwell on the “bad.”
My Mom was very smart. She never worried about the future and always told me that I would be okay. She assessed her children honestly and never bored her friends to death by bragging about them. She knew her children were not the most beautiful, not the smartest, not the most clever but she knew what her kids were all about and of what they were capable. She knew we had good hearts even if we kept our deeds or feelings to ourselves. She also knew that we loved and respected her.
Mothers always want what is best for us even when we make these dreadful mistakes: spouses, job choices, spending money on that new car that was unnecessary, spoiling our kids, etc. They have wisdom that we don’t appreciate until years later after we have lived a little, or after they are gone, we come to realize how perfect our mothers were…how right they were, not some of the time but all of the time and how we wished that we had actually listened.
I miss my Mom and think of her every day and wish that she was still here, to talk to and to tell her how much she is loved. For all of you who still have your mothers, cherish them. For all of you whose moms have passed, be blessed in their sweet memory today and every day.

Some Election Stats on Amendment 2 - Heights in Lake Worth

Amendment 2 YES votes won 12 precincts--The NO votes won 4 precincts.
The top percentage was won in district 3078 (my district) with 144 YES votes to 68 NO votes or winning 67.9245% of the total votes cast. These voters cast their ballots at Lakeside United Methodist Church, 1801 12th Avenue South.
Mary Lindsey got her people out in College Park--
The 2nd top percentage was a NO vote won in District 3042 at 156 YES and 230 NO or 59.5854% of the total votes cast. These voters cast their ballots at the First Congressional Church at 1415 N K Street.
The YES side won the Absentee votes by 152 to 72 or 67.8571% of the votes cast.
March is a detriment to getting out the vote. We who are involved in politics find it difficult to understand why people don't take an interest.We do not have a constitutionally protected right to vote written in our Constitution. The 15th Amendment protects the rights of Americans to elect their leaders and vote on issues such as the heights in our downtown by saying...Section I--The right of Citizens of the United States to vote shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or by any State on account of race, color, or previous condition of servitude."
The NO side, under the leadership of the President of the Neighborhood Presidents' Council and president of her neighborhood association, rallied its supporters in-spite of their twisted and deceitful message. It's really corrupt and pathetic that the NO side took the "lo" side.

The NO side, under the leadership of the President of the Neighborhood Presidents' Council and president of her neighborhood association, rallied its supporters in-spite of their twisted and deceitful message. It's really corrupt and pathetic that the NO side took the "lo" side.

Computer Upgrade

They killed him! - Animal Care & Control

Animal care and Control killed our abandoned friend, Buddy. After telling us on May 10th that he had been accepted into the Adoption Program and that his wounds were being treated, etc., they took our donation. We were not allowed to apply the money towards any specific animal...it had to go into the general pot. "Fair enough," I said. After all they have accepted him for adoption--he has a chance in this world.
Yesterday I called them to find out how "Buddy" was doing and was promptly told they had put him down. When asked through tears of shock, the answer was "Another doctor looked at him and determined that he had an injury to a ligament to his rear left leg. When he was found and when he was delivered to Animal Care & Control, he was walking just fine.
I realize that the budget has been reduced at this department but to kill a dog just because he is considered unnecessary in this world or because he was part pit bull, a breed in abundance there, is a horrendous revelation of what's going on at a Palm Beach County "care" facility that is making life and death decisions regarding poor innocent animals.
As I am still waiting for the Veterinarian who made the decision that buddy's little life was not worth saving to give me a call of explanation, I am deeply saddened that I made the wrong decision by bringing him there. As he gave us a lick on the cheek and wagged his tail the day we found him, he looked to us to help him. We let him down. For that I will have a lifetime of regret.

Letter to the Lake Worth Candidates
September 2011
Dear Mayor, Commission and Candidates for election:
First of all I want to wish you all the very best in your election. Normally I would work behind the scenes for my candidate and donate money and time to a campaign(s) of my choice but in this instance I feel that you have cost me:
In view of these decisions made by you, as well as interfering with the State of Arizona who is trying to enforce Federal law when it comes to illegals, your decisions have been detrimental to the welfare of your constituency causing undue hardship on the retired and the working class in this City. You have taken the easy way out by a snap of your fingers by agreeing with Staff. Therefore, I can not contribute to your campaign.
Because you have alienated many of your past supporters by ignoring their pleas and not responding to calls or e-mails except at election time, I will not support you. You have cast aside this entire section of voters on Lake Osborne Drive. Because you have not done your homework and only are mesmerized by Staff, I will not support you.
Good luck to one and all and God bless the residents of Lake Worth.

- $60 in a fire assessment to pay for the Union retirement pensions that will go up every year
- $30 possibly in a street light assessment
- You have opened the door to more and more assessments to circumvent the 10 mil cap
- $$$$$$$$$$ when the city manager brought up the possibility of paying for $2 million in turtle lighting in a special assessment
- 13% more in sewer rates per month
- 5.25% more in water per month
- and all the other fees throughout the City that have gone up as well and the future creation of special assessments to pay for misfeasance, malfeasance or just plain lousy government

Swiping Signs

It's never a good idea to remove anyone's sign even if you know that it has been illegally placed. It happened to me several years back in front of Walgreens when Mayor Drautz had permission from the store manager to place it on their property on Dixie Highway. One of the Dirty Dozen decided to take it and not give it back to me until I insisted. Campaigns are contentious. It happens on both sides.
Campaigns should obey the rules and obey the laws. Do not place a sign on public right of ways. By simply following this one simple rule, no one would have the urge to take it down and ride off with it. They are not allowed to be on the public swale as a lot of Ramiccio signs are. Perhaps we will find out the details of these signs and where they were.
It bothers me that the sign removers have been thrown into a category of racial profiling....the buzz word for this campaign--ANARCHISTS. Another attack.

Subject: Heads Up - People Caught Stealing Signs Today
Tom Ramiccio’s daughter was coming home from an appointment driving down Wellesley and his wife, Carol, was coming home in other direction and they caught two individuals riding bikes down the street with nine Tom Ramiccio signs. They were cornered by Carol and they refused to hand over the signs. They told her “They’re not yours…” and she responded, “No – they’re my husband’s…” and removed the signs from their possession.
The two bicyclists took off in two different directions. Tom’s daughter followed one and Carol the other. The police were contacted and they asked that they both stop following them for fear they could be hurt if they had any weaponry. We have given them an idea of where to look for these people. I was told they looked like folks from the anarchist crowd. This is their MO, after all.
