Swiping Signs

Comment Up
It's never a good idea to remove anyone's sign even if you know that it has been illegally placed. It happened to me several years back in front of Walgreens when Mayor Drautz had permission from the store manager to place it on their property on Dixie Highway. One of the Dirty Dozen decided to take it and not give it back to me until I insisted. Campaigns are contentious. It happens on both sides.

Campaigns should obey the rules and obey the laws. Do not place a sign on public right of ways. By simply following this one simple rule, no one would have the urge to take it down and ride off with it. They are not allowed to be on the public swale as a lot of Ramiccio signs are. Perhaps we will find out the details of these signs and where they were.

It bothers me that the sign removers have been thrown into a category of racial profiling....the buzz word for this campaign--ANARCHISTS. Another attack.

Subject: Heads Up - People Caught Stealing Signs Today

Tom Ramiccio’s daughter was coming home from an appointment driving down Wellesley and his wife, Carol, was coming home in other direction and they caught two individuals riding bikes down the street with nine Tom Ramiccio signs. They were cornered by Carol and they refused to hand over the signs. They told her “They’re not yours…” and she responded, “No – they’re my husband’s…” and removed the signs from their possession.

The two bicyclists took off in two different directions. Tom’s daughter followed one and Carol the other. The police were contacted and they asked that they both stop following them for fear they could be hurt if they had any weaponry. We have given them an idea of where to look for these people. I was told they looked like folks from the anarchist crowd. This is their MO, after all.

Lynn,
The signs that we taken today were on private property, in voters front yards. Please be fair in your reporting

Lyn,

I am not attempting to dispute your perception I am only providing you some insight on my past experience in the election where Scott Maxwell and Wes Blackman were running I was part of coordinated teams with areas that had been highlighted on maps all bordering near the polling locations to steal those two candidates signs. It was not that we casually were passing by and decided to be an upstanding member of society and do our civic duty of removing a sign that was on a right of way which is still theft by the way. I very shortly after went to both of them and informed them of my behavior and apologize for my poor judgement in allowing myself to become a part of that machine. Come on Lyn I know it sounds good but this was not the case here. My mothers home that she just closed on in the Genesis Neighborhood had Tom Ramiccio signs stolen off her property and she has a sheriff no trespass sign. I would love for you to be right Lyn whether you believe me or not. I humbly and respectfully share the facts with you that I experienced, for what it's worth. This is nothing to be surprised about these Anarchists...yes Lynn...Anarchists which is far from an attack. They are self proclaimed Anarchists and they are proud of that title that they train and work very hard for. Training how to poop in trees, chain yourself together at a protest to then later sue a city to fund your cause, FBI watch list members, Yes Lynn this is their achievement, thumbing their nose at the establishment, want excellent proof ? the recent video they produced including former Commissioner Cara Jennings and now presiding member of the CRA board pregnant half naked acting like a hooker but I don't see any photoshops of them Lynn? What happened Lynn why aren't you screaming for her resignation? No onslaught of your spirited words to call for their heads on silver platters. That you would attempt to marginalize this criminal behavior is really only a disrespect to yourself Lynn, a woman who remains so steadfast about being the blog of facts and truth. I just wonder whose facts and how this equates to any truth whatsoever? By the way I have seen illegal Waterman signs in right of way areas in the Genesis area and I call the city and they have come removed them. THEFT, whether on right of way or not, it still THEFT. For someone to remove something that they didn't pay for nor belongs to them is simply what?....THEFT. Theft is theft whether on right of way or not Lynn what laws do you live by?

Respectfully,
Mark A. Parrilla

Sincerely,
Mark A. Parrilla

Lynn, if you would like to see what anarchists look like, you may view them in all their glory in this video starring Cara Jennings and her crew. (I'm not joking - she IS in this video...)

Viewer discretion advised.

Tom, I am being very fair. I said that I had no idea where the signs were placed that were removed. It would be rather difficult of you to prove that they were taken from private property because your family only saw them with signs, not removing them.

Lynn Anderson said...

Mark, To start labeling everyone an "anarchist" that you do not seem to like, is absolutely disingenuous. Some of these people are environmental activists. I certainly would not call them anarchists. Everyone is going to the extreme in this city and I find it personally offensive.

I do not know what any LW resident does in his private life. I will write about what they do in their political life. That is all that I know. Because someone knows Cara Jennings, does not make them an anarchist. That is just too over the top.

This is all poltiics. Some on each side of the spectrum take signs. Usually they are placed illegally. This is not just an assumption. Also, I have had owner's landscapers/gardeners remove them. This is not done in malice.

Lynn Anderson said...

Gee, Diana. This is just a spoof. It was done for kicks. Do you people really take this seriously?

Diana Demarest said...

Lynn, for a former elected official and a current board member to appear in such a vile video, I think is inappropriate, an embarrassment to the city and it lacks decorum.

I am surprised that you are so in the tank for these people when you love Col. West so much.

I wonder what he'd think about this video. As much as I dislike his politics, I think he wouldn't be caught dead in a video like this and disrespect the elected office he holds.

Lynn Anderson said...

You say that Cara is in the video. Ok. I jsut didn't spot her, but that's not the point. We already know that Cara has done a lot of outlandish things aNd getting her self arrested while at the Israeli embassy. I do NOT condone this sort of behavior and spoke to it at City Hall after she had done this. She was an elected official then.

As far as Col. Allen West goes, he is one cool guy. And no, he would not do a video like this. He is not that silly. He does ride motorcycles, however, and there are some people that lump all of them as motorcycle gang members such as the Democrats did in his election.

So, people use any means to bring down people. This video, although ridiculous, was done in fun.

Diana Demarest said...

If you can stomach getting through the whole thing, she is listed in the credits and she appears in the credits in person.

You call it fun. I call it disgusting behavior, complete with with boob grabbing and simulated oral sex.

I'm not bringing anyone down Lynn. The video speaks for itself.

Lynn being a "self proclaimed" anarchist means they WANT to be called anarchists. They're happy when people call them anarchists. It feels much better than unemployed clowns which is really what they are. But you keep on defending their actions and their candidates because in their capable hands the city is clean, safe, profitable and the MOST desirable place to live and work in Palm Beach County. Right?

Anonymous said...

What does this video have to do with stealing Tom's signs? You blame everything on Cara. Get a life.

Lynn Anderson said...

I dunno guys, this blog was about sign stealing and you saying that those who stole them looked like anarchists. Now you are twisting this all around to saying I am defending their actions. Don't know how you see that but it is your right to re-write history. And that is definitely the problem with this city. It is not just anarchists.

Prior to Ms. Diana Demarest's arrival in Lake Worth to support the candidacy of Mr. Rene Varela, the man who has forced us to spend $25,000-$50,000 for a special election to allow his cronies Ms. Lisa Maxwell and Mr. Thomas Ramiccio a shot at the Mayor's office, Ms. Elizabeth Arevalo was detained and cited for stealing a Mayor Marc Drautz sign from a strip mall on N. Dixie. The LWPD sent the case (witnessed by 2 and with her fingerprints on the sign) to Barry Krischer who failed to prosecute because he had bigger fish to fry-the commissioners of "corruption county". This is the same person Ms. Lynn Anderson saw removing the sign from Walgreen's.
Signs are stolen by sekf-righteous supporters of all candidates, but this is the only confirmed case with police reports on record.

Ms. Demarest was campaign manager for Mr. Rene Varela and fooled the Lake Worth citizens with feel good mailers illegally leaving out the word "for" between his name and Mayor.
Mr. Varela's standard stump speech was "I want to spend the rest of my life here; we want to raise our children in Lake Worth" Present reality shows this was a con that she helped him perpetrate.

Now she is trying to recycle the convicted, fined, and publicly censured ethics violator, Mr. Thomas Ramiccio, who refused to open his books for inspection by the city when he chaired the Chamber of Commerce and was soon after let go by the board.
The downtown merchants quit his Chamber because he was doing little for them but collecting dues. They formed the Downtown Cultural Alliance to represent themselves. This organization is sponsoring the all day July 3rd downtown celebration among many other events. Lake Avenue has many fewer vacant stores than during Mr. Ramiccio's time, 4 or 5 now as opposed to 8-11 then.
The sign story is an attempt to draw attention away from his real record and to denigrate his strong, qualified opponent, Ms. Rachel Waterman.
Vote for Rachel Waterman June 28th and save the city the cost of a runoff election.

I must inform the last anonymous poster that they don't have their facts straight.

I WAS NOT Rene' Varela's campaign manager. I was in fact, a volunteer on the campaign as his webmaster and as an strategy adviser.

To be clear, I was not paid a NICKEL for being involved with the Varela campaign.

I find it amusing when people are cowards, post anonymously and then don't check the facts before they post.

Just wanted to clear that up.

Lynn Anderson said...

Diana--I too thought that was what you were but you straightened me out on that long ago. There is a fine line of what is and what is not acceptable as comments here. I thought I explained that last night the best I could.

Politicians have no problem denigrating their opponents and when it happens to them they can't take the fire.

Videos, personal financial issues, domestic problems, health problems and that sort of thing is where I try and draw the line.

May the best man/woman win.

I really wish some people would get their facts straight. Call the Supervisor of Elections Office as I did and find out how much it will really cost us as opposed to parroting bogus information. We are splitting the cost of the election with Lake Clarke Shores whose Mayor recently passed away. Our share is estimated at 9,000.00 by the Supervisor of Elections Office. Get your facts straight before commenting. But I guess since you comment anonymous you don't care since your name isn't accountable to your thoughts or opinions. How lame.

Ms, Demarest and Mr. Ramiccio

What do you think about the flagrantly sexiest mailer sent out in support of Tom Ramiccio?

Please let us know if you agree with it.

Diana Demarest said...

Thank you Lynn. I appreciated your disclaimer and the fact that you acknowledge that I set the record straight with you on my position with the Varela campaign.

While some posters here may revile me, they should note that I also helped current Vice Mayor Suzanne Mulvehill in her first election against Dave Vespo (After she won against Rene’ in his election bid for commission in Nov., 2008.)

I worked with my friend Victoria and Laurie Decker by providing the voter data and strategy in order to help Suzanne get elected. People involved in her campaign and support her have amnesia about this fact.

I want be clear that I did not make a NICKEL on the Mulvehill campaign either.

Elections should be about people and not about political party. The electorate should look at voting through this prism.

If they really want freedom and true democracy, this is it.

A truer word has never been spoken. Look at the person. We have seen a few of the candidates for years and don't like what we see.

Just a head's up...a great many signs were taken last night in College Park from private property.
Maybe not a bad thought to just do away with signs, save the money....and thereby stop all this nonsense.??

Regarding Mark Parilla's comments--

He walked a little for Jo-Ann. I was her treasurer and I worked a lot with the vols. There was never a map that highlighted polling locations and if he attended “sign-stealing” meetings, then he must have organized them himself.

I’m not sure why he fabricates such stories and has no compunction about slandering people he hardly knows. Very sad, he seems to have problems of some sort that affect his thinking. It’s hard to have a rational conversation with him, so I try to avoid him.

It’s nice that he tries to help people in his community, but it appears, to me anyway, that he only does it to advance his political ideas. Not the purest of motives, but I made a contribution through him to help the LWHS band get new uniforms. My dad was a high school band director in Troy, NY.

To Tom's Page: I did not like the mailer or it's message. As a woman, I thought it was insulting.

Nor was it authorized by this campaign.

Aside from the fact it is also an illegal mailer from a group that is not registered anywhere that I could find, it was also was poorly done.

Mark A. Parrilla said...

Lori,

I am not surprised of your trivialization of what I witnessed of course no one is going to be honest enough to admit this behavior. Lori I have never approached you for anything that it would be necessary for you have to avoid me because honestly I find your demeanor too rough around the edges and have never had any reason to approach you other by choice other than to thank you for your donation to LWHS band. I am glad you and your like are the only ones who feel I have communication problems. Within the past 6 months the clients that I have presented solar packages to are not having a problem understanding me nor the people who I help in my community. I am not running nor will I ever and NO ONE in this community who I have helped can say I have EVER tried to involve politics in my community service endeavors. A feeble swipe due to sour grapes for being totally honest but I am not surprised it is part of the ANARCHIST M.O. Is that all you have Lori? You guys are getting redundant in your spin efforts to discredit anyone who tries to inform people of what is really going on in this City. You are laughable to attempt to diminish my sincere efforts that I apply to the many I have helped and continue to help. Shame on you Lori spend money on a donation to yourself and pay for a course to learn some more innovative ways to spin the truth.

Sincerely,
Mark A. Parrilla

Mark-Pam Lopez said that the cost would be between $20 amd 25 thousand dollars for this election today. A run-off will be that much more. There are other costs besides what Bucher charges. Please call Ms. Lopez if you really want to know the facts.
