Now as much as I didn't like the comprehensive bond issue and voted against it, this is exactly what the majority was talking about when they said they were actively seeking grants for economic development that WOULD HAVE REDUCED the amount of bond money they would have needed to draw upon.

Congratulations to the City Manager for his efforts to bring in this much needed grant so that more businesses can bring in more employees and help our tax base.

Many of you might remember that the former majority were entertaining making the whole area a chicken farm. Making it agricultural instead of industrial. You know, all that corporate greed.

You really run with the lie, anonymous @9:51. NO ONE ON THE DAIS ever said that they wanted to MAKE THE ENTIRE POC A CHICKEN FARM. Let's put that lie to rest right now. It was said by one commissioner and it was not a serious suggestion to raise chickens out there. I think there is money to be made in raising produce for market.

But if you think about it, TENS of millions would not be needed for infrastructure for that use. :)

And yes, let's take that money out of the $15mil allocated and put it into potholes.

You want to keep filling pot holes heh? What about addressing the underlying crumbling infrastructure? That is what they are working on. ya, fill the pot holes but we need new streets and sidewalks. That is what they really want to accomplish.
