Kamala in Florida inciting more Racism

Kamala Harris Shamelessly Uses Florida To Stoke Racial Tensions- What A LIAR

In a speech at the Delta Sigma Theta Sorority National Convention on Thursday, U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris claimed that Republican “extremists” in the state of Florida are pushing schools to teach students that slaves “benefited from slavery.” This, however, is an inaccurate message.

Rather than actually pushing Florida schools to teach such an egregious misrepresentation of slavery, the Florida State Board of Education approved standards that would instead inform students that some slaves employed skills, such as carpentry, tailoring, or blacksmithing, for their own personal benefit. In addition, the standards emphasize the injustice endemic of slavery at the time.

The Vice President also claimed that “many of our hard-won freedoms” were “under full-on attack” from Republicans. Unfortunately, this is just another example of liberals using the emotionally charged buzzwords to incite further division and distraction away from the policies that matter.

While it's probably true that slavery taught some skills, there weren't that many mechanical skills to learn in the late 1800's. There were some, but nothing like now.

I don't know if it was appropriate to put this in a history book. Seems rather petty.

Where it is truer, is in prison. All sorts of skills are taught in prison, for those who want to take advantage of them.

What I reject, is the constant looking back to the past. Nobody ever could change the past, and it is counterproductive to keep harking back to a thousands of years old practice that speaks more of the times than of the practice.

In the meantime, the present rots! Politicians and lawyers employ these tactics for monetary and political gain, and the public follow like sheep.

Look at the cooking fame and notoriety that Aunt Jemima had and tell me there aren't blacks who benefited big time from their working years. She was famous across America for her great breakfast pancakes and syrup. What more could a woman of her means ask for?

I guess you could make the same argument for the emancipation of women. After all, if you can cook, what else would you need to succeed in the Western World.
