Commissioner Vana's office responds to e-mail on Atlanta Braves

Comment Up

This morning, I sent an e-mail to the County Parks and Recreation Department as well as to Shelley Vana's office regarding the Atlanta Braves and what location at John Prince Park is of interest to them for a stadium.  This is Commissioner Vana's reply:

Ms. Anderson-

Thank you for your inquiry. Our office has not been provided any plans or location of a ballpark within John Prince Park.

Wait a minute--I thought there had already been meetings between reps/lobbyists for the Atlanta Braves and the County. And most likely Maxwell as well. Is this just a dodge to try and do the whole deal in the dark? I'm confused--how can they be planning to take over the park if there have been no meetings etc?

Well then I guess Kevin Thompson was lying about it and I guess the phone surveyor was lying too. And then again the commissioners were lying about the plan also because they didn't know that Maxwell was meeting with the county with regards to the park>>>>>>> Who is lying here.

Political doublespeak, of course they've not been provided with a "plan" because the discussions have not concluded.
