Map - John Prince Park - Atlanta Braves

Comment Up

Atlanta Braves has zero LOYALTY

At Turner Field since 1997, they are saying adios and moving to a new stadium. They are building new at a cost of $622 million in order to save on maintenance costs of $150 mil over 30 years at Turner Field. The county there is raising $368 million through bonds, $14 million from transportation taxes, and $10 million cash from businesses in the Cumberland Community Improvement District.

Read Joe Capozzi's article in today's Palm Beach Post where "sources" have indicated the Braves want land in the south end of John Prince Park.

They are looking at the wooded area bordering the airport and Congress Ave, across the street from JFK Hosipital. That's even farther away from your precious ROLO, but it is closer to Atlantis so I guess Dennis Dorsey is going to get all fired up.

Good news for the area if you ask me, as the homeless have set up encampments in those woods and if a training facility moves in, well I guess the hobos will have to shuffle off... Maybe they will go to the old Don King owned Jai Alia fronton in Mangonia Park- but the boxing promoter is backing inveator Victor Palacios' of Palm Beach idea for Palm Beach Business and Technology Center' to put business and vocational schools as well as a K-12 charter school, a cultural center, a sports venue, some retail and dining, and even a hotel on the 53 acre tract. Wow! That would be an awesome incubator for jobs in the 1 square mile town of 2,000 in Mangonia Park. This center will promote economic growth, spur innovation and advance the growth of a highly skilled community a qualified workers. The curriculum at the site would include alternative energies, Auto Repair, criminal justice and medicine. Gee seems like this is a great idea because we need all these trades and skills.
