There is so much fraud in this country it is not even funny, fraud for illegals here that have kids here, then receive everything for free from the gov. after giving birth, the illegals and their anchor babies live off the gov. yet their parents work under the table and make lots of money to by big Chevy Suburbans that cost $60k yet their kids are on free lunch, just go to Highland Elem School when school lets out to see that.
I know of two cases just because of living next to one and friends renting another house of homestead exemption fraud. One lady has a $50000 exemption on her house and does not live in it and rents it out on Airbnb or other long term for up to $3000 a month, let gets this exemption. Another lady next to me rents her house and lives in Maui, hasn't lived here in three years since i have lived here and she has always rented out her house, I looked it up yesterday on Papa sure enough she has homestead exemption on her house since 1990, but it has been renting out I know of for three years now.
There is so much fraud in this country, and then you wonder why we are broke and going to hell.
The Cubans come here and have been arrested so often for committing a lot of medicare and medicaid fraud, it is no the Spanish Miami news all the time.
Fraud is rampant here, in our city, state, and country.
So sad. Say some prayers for this country, it needs them.
I would wager a bet that there is homestead exemption fraud taking place on almost every block in this city of Lake Worth. I know the lady down the street from me at 214 2nd Ave N has a double exemption on her big house which she rents out and does not even live in it, she lives out west somewhere in Royal Palm, she gets a double exemption, probably a few thousand dollar tax break, yet makes thousands monthly renting it out. She just had some people who came down for NY renting that house for the past 2-3 months now. It is so unfair when we get the homestead exemption and live in our houses year round and then these people commit fraud and get all these breaks from government, lying about where they live. Corruption and fraud are alive and well here in this city. Just look at the trio with the campaign money they got!ow all that can go to their extra salary, that doesn't sound right or fair. Fix the roads scotty with your $60K!

The owner down the road from me on M Street has two houses that are attached, I guess as one property, but on two or more lots. It is the pink and white houses on the corner of N M St and 5th Ave N.The owner has both houses rented out and lives out west somewhere and I heard only comes here every few years, yet when I looked up on Papa they have a homestead exemption on their house, yet both families who live their rent, I know as my son plays ball with one of the people's son who lives there.
Do you know if you can make a complaint about homestead fraud anonymously here in Palm Beach County? Is there a website?
You are right about all of this Lynn, it seems fraud is rampant in this country and even here in this little city.
What can be done about it? Will it just keep getting worse?
I heard or read before that only about 50% of the people pay taxes to the government, the other live off the government receiving free food, rent, healthcare, etc. Wow, it is sad that these people have to do this, I do not think our government is really helping these people, they have so self worth and don't think they can do anything, how low can you go? When I go to the grocery stores shopping, I would say, whether Aldi, bravo, Publix, Presidente, that almost everyone in front of me is paying with one of the FL access welfare cards. Most black or hispanic.
What bothers me about the EBT and food stamp cards they give out, before they used to have restrictions on what you could buy, like healthy stuff, now you see them using them for so much junk food. Our very own government is promoting poor health by paying for junk food for the "poor" then have to pay for their poor health taking care of then, does this all sound ironic to you?
All these subsidies need to end, NOW! it hurts our society and makes hard working people angry. I don't like it.
