While there was a lot of money raised by the incumbents, aside from HH, the money came from a large base of small local business amd property owners and long term residents. Evidently a large majority believe we ARE headed in the right direction. Thank goodness it's over. The nastiness was over the top from supporters on both sides.

So onward and upward!! Let's build those townhouses, bulldoze those one-story buildings on Lake Ave and build up, up, up!!! Let's get that contract signed with Hudson and get ready to greenlight their plans for a...Margaritaville at the BEACH!!! And a hotel!!!! And a 5-story parking garage!!! Whatever!! The more concrete the better!!! Good bye, Lake Worth. Good bye. The sweet little town that once was...

Big money has never won an election in this city. The fact is that most of our citizens are very happy with the diction the city is moving. Property values are up and there is more optimism than ever. The slate of candidates opposing the incumbents were unknown and unqualified. Putting an anarchist up against Scott, putting him in a suit and tie, and telling everyone that his past actions are meaningless was crazy and shows that some were so angry they would vote for anyone. The potholes, beach and heights were old issues that just didn't work this year. It's time we work together on real issues that need real solutions and stop fighting about 10 feet of height on a new building. I hope that folks can start talking about solutions and stop the anger. But than again this is Lake Worth.

And as we move "forward",saying I told you so as a large convention center is built at our beach is going to be cold comfort. Saying I told you so as the Gulf Stream Hotel is destroyed because of demolition by neglect is going to be cold comfort.
I would like to thank Diane, Frank and Ryan ,who ran positive campaigns about issues.
Pam Triolo, you are a liar. You will have to live with yourself. Andy Amoroso, you are a liar. You will have to live with yourself.Scott Maxwell, you are a liar. You will have to live with yourself.

Big money won THIS election.

Property values are up because we are out of the depression, not because of the Trio.

The candidates were just as qualified as any new person running for office. They are at least honest.

Again, harping on Hartman and instilling fear with the voters was a very big "win" for you.

The potholes, beach, heights are STILL current issues, not old as you say.

What are the "real" issues to which you refer?

And voters should NEVER back down on democracy and winning an election and allow a dictatorial dais ignore the vote.

What you did was out money the challengers and resorted to attack mailers and anonymous flyers. nothing has been improved in our city since they have been in.

Basically, your win was anarchism. Pathetic that there are so many uninformed people in our city.

Truth is there were no great candidates to replace the incumbents, only Frank came close.

You guys know there is not going to a margaritaville or convention center at the beach. You know the beach is never going to be private. You know the gulfstream is not going to get knocked down. You guys know the city is not going to turn into a condo canyon in 2 years, or any time.
The incumbents won the election because more people voted this year than in the past because there was real concern and because your lies didn't work this time.

Why do we know that anonymous @10:14? Because you told us?

More people voted this year because
1. it was a primary election
2. the incumbents had so much money that they could reach all 15,400 registered voters in the city with their BS.
there was basically one mailer from them that I liked and it was Scott Maxwell's where he kept it positive. But he allowed outside special interests through PACs to do the dirty work. Sneaky bunch.

And no, Republicans don't outweigh Democrats in this city but Republican influence and money did.

No surprise when you have big money, by developers and others who want favors from the City, going to incumbents. Very sad, but the kind of money donated by outside interests is just too much for most challengers to overcome.

I too thank the challengers for a good fight, but also agree with John that the challengers were simply not that great. I voted for the challengers b/c I did not want to vote for a "trio" rather I wanted to vote for folks that were independent and not those that would always vote together regardless of the issue. I also voted for challengers b/c of crime and lack of code and b/c of the backroom wheeling and dealing with HH. Sad that HH is has two more years to hoodwink the residents and city into thinking HH cares one bit about our city.

This was a hatchet job by the bullies with the master bully pushing the strings. It's a tremendous blow to all good people in our town.
