This one has been a menace for years...owners have changed several times. In July 2006, this small house consisting of 1,281 s.f. was actually bought for $232,000...it soon went into foreclosure. Banks were accepting bogus appraisals and loaning money to anyone and their grandmother. It was sold several times once it was foreclosed upon and a new owner bought it last year. Now this new owner has installed a modular unit right across his front lawn. Later in the day, you will see about three trucks parking there and they think nothing of parking on the "grass." It has been cited by Code Enforcement.
Right down the street, this house has been newly landscaped and has a new owner. His house looks pristine perfect and hopefully other owners on this once very nice street will follow his example. I told the owner that I wanted to recommend his house as House of the Month to ROLO.

Very beautiful home. Welcome to our neighborhood. Now about the shed put up in the front yard- My family is afraid to put a palm frond out on the wrong day, but a friggin MODULAR like this can go up???. What in the heck is wrong with our code dept.? I also lay the ultimate blame at the feet of our city manager,Mr. Bornstein. I know that THERE IS A CODE CASE against it, but SO WHAT ??? Why didn't code stop this before it is the eye sore we now have to look at? I see city trucks drive thru my neighborhood all the time. What are they doing? Napping, eating lunch, waiting to fine somebody for one of those deadly palm fronds that I mentioned??? Maybe Mr. Bornstein is too busy directing code to go against the majority Commission's political enemies than he is directing them to do what they are supposed to be doing.(And by the way Commissioner Maxwell, thanks for our NEW neighborhood port-a-potty on Lake Osborne drive.Actually , a collection of POO is about the only thing Mr. Maxwell has ever given to this neighborhood.
Code goes after silly, easy stuff and leaves the big cases to linger. Why is that?
