or why not just start by asking we the people what we want (39K)
vs 2 ITN proposals acting as if these 2 are the only thoughts applicable to our beach in the 21st century - pfffft - we are acting like stupid lemmings being fed whatever good thoughts 5 reps can come up with! Shame on US for not demanding a meeting for OUR ideas to be vetted before strangers are allowed to incest our family with 2 unacceptable proposals! Shame on HH for an unreadable website for us to imagine wth is there and Anderson & Carr for coming back to the table after your failure to rent the same dern space as the realtor the 1st time around!

I wouldn't mind push cars, although doesn't seem fair to the businesses already there, but agree with the rest.

Business ain't about being fair!

We've got already built space we need to rent, and rent at market rate with CAM that will pay for the expense.

It's easy to understand... Let me break it down for ya... Let's say I want to drive a new Lexus but all I can afford is a used Chevy, well the only way I'm gonna get the Lexus IS by PAYING FOR THE EXPENSE for the new Lexus!

The tenants currently at the complex received 'sweetheart' 10 year leases from a previous commission at BELOW COST to run the facility.

That means the taxpayers (those precious few in this city that actually pay taxes) are subsidizing the businesses there with the shortfall in rent we shoos be receiving.

The sorry and poor business models and decisions of that previous commission has left us wounded and limping along.

It has nothing to do with he sensationalized 'hands off out beach'. NO SAND IS BEING CONSIDERED FOR DEVELOPMENT, SALE, GIVE AWAY OR RESTRICTION TO THE PUBLIC.

Do these CAVE (citizens against virtually everything) have a problem with the imbrella and chair rental concession that is providing service at he beach? I've got no problem with it, in fact, I like it, being able to simply pay him to set up a lounge and umbrella and enjoy myself without having to lug out the beach accoutrements necessary for a nice day at the beach.

What about Bennies on the Beach? Do uiu CAVE people have a problem with that business? Or do you enjoy getting his Clam Bake in a bucket and strolling out to the beach to enjoy a traditional sea side dinner along the shore?

NO! I and many others like to have these businesses at the beach and we could use another restaurant, especially am ipscale one.

Ya know what I've got a problem with? The proposed change some want to convert the residential neighbirhoods zoning to allow commercial businesses.

I DO NOT WANT A COMMERCIAL BUSINESS NEXT DOOR TO MY HOUSE!!! We bought our home in s RESIDENTIAL NEIGHBORHOOD! If I wanted to live in or near the commercial zone we would have bought in the Lucerne and been on top of it.

I don't want some crunchy granola type manufacturing t-shirts, selling pharmaceuticals, repairing cars or conducting art classes next door. These people need to relocate to properly zones areas and seek their happiness there... And I wish them he beat of luck!

Meanwhile,

HANDS OFF OUR NEIGHBORHOODS!!!

Sorry, you don't know all that happened here.
HANDS OFF OUR BEACH

There was a 3rd party that wanted to put a water theme park at the beach!!! They withdrew when they realized it would have to be scaled down and this became not financially viable.

Can you imagine the traffic from that monstrosity?

This whole ITN thing was an open invitation to ideas of what could be... Nothing is written in stone. We just need for the complex to pay for itself. The reality is that the beach is popular with residents, and it is event more popular as a Regional beach with people
From all over Palm Beach county have a chance to enjoy the sand and ocean.

There is nothing I've read where anyone is talking about physically taking over the beach-the sand-the access to the ocean.

The whole red sign thing with hands off our beach, is jusy a clever marketing tag line and way to stir up, stoke the flames and encourage half witted people to follow loud and barking voices of nonsense. No one is giving away the beach, it's not even allowed to sell or give away the beach... It's in our Charter... we just do need for the building complex to pay for itself.

Everything you said was fine up to the last paragraph. I almost did not allow your comment at all.

NO ONE EVER SAID THAT ANYONE WAS GIVING AWAY THE BEACH or trying to take over access to it anonymous at 11:30. You have totally misinterpreted the other side's opinion. When people use the word "beach," they are talking about the entire 19 acres we own--not the FREAKING SAND.

So stop the juvenile name-calling. Nonsense in your opinion but certainly important to everyone I know.
