California judge blocks policies hiding gender changes from parents

A federal judge has slammed the brakes on California’s controversial push to keep parents in the dark about their own children’s gender transitions at school.

In a sweeping decision, U.S. District Court Judge Roger Benitez ruled that California’s policies violated the constitutional rights of both parents and teachers, barring state and local education officials from enforcing secrecy-based rules on student gender identity changes, as Blaze Media reports.

The lawsuit, originally filed on individual grounds, grew into a class-action suit by October 2023. It came to represent other educators and families who said they suffered under policies they viewed as both unethical and unconstitutional.

Judge Benitez agreed, delivering a full summary judgment in favor of the plaintiffs and halting the enforcement of these so-called “gender support plans” that deliberately cut out parents from life-altering decisions.

ICE said that Amaya has been convicted three times for child sex offenses, including aggravated sexual assault of a child in April 2006, failure to register as a sex offender in May 2015, and sexual indecency with a minor in July 2025.
6. Dallas, ICE arrested Cuban illegal Yordanis Cobos-Martinez on Sept. 10. According to the agency, Cobos-Martinez has a long criminal history, including child sex abuse, grand theft of a motor vehicle, false imprisonment and carjacking. The agency said that Cobos-Martinez was arrested by Dallas police for allegedly using a machete to behead a merchant he had argued with. The agency said the murder took place in front of the merchant’s spouse and child and that Cobos-Martinez then kicked the head of the victim "around like a soccer ball."

Greenland did not drift into American stewardship by accident. It arrived there because Denmark dropped it. That fact is routinely obscured by euphemism and sentiment, but it is the hinge on which the entire moral and legal argument turns.

In April 1940, Denmark was occupied by Nazi Germany. Copenhagen fell in hours. Its government capitulated and chose accommodation over resistance. Danish state institutions continued to function under German supervision, cooperating administratively and economically with the occupying power. Its armed forces stood down.

And its far-flung colony in the Arctic was abruptly severed from the metropole. No money. No ships. No defense. No instructions. Denmark did not merely lose control of Greenland. It relinquished it, while collaborating under and alongside a hostile regime, in every way that matters.

This is not a rhetorical flourish. Sovereignty is not a feeling. It is a bundle of responsibilities. Defense, finance, and foreign relations are the core of that bundle. When a state permanently abandons those functions over a territory, sovereignty becomes an empty word.

In 1940, Denmark did exactly that. It could not defend Greenland. It could not finance Greenland. It could not communicate with Greenland in any reliable way. And worse, it had placed itself under the effective control of a hostile power.

Greenland, however, did not follow Denmark down that path. Unlike Copenhagen, Greenland refused to recognize Nazi authority. Faced with isolation and an existential threat, Greenland’s leaders chose alignment with the only power capable of protecting them.

In April 1941, months before Pearl Harbor and before the U.S. formally entered the war, Greenland signed an agreement with the United States placing its defense under American protection. This was one of America’s first forward defense commitments of WWII.

Two conservative legal groups have taken up the fight on behalf of Calvary Chapel San Jose, urging the U.S. Supreme Court to overturn $1.2 million in fines slapped on the church for holding in-person worship services during statewide pandemic restrictions, as WND reports.

Back in 2020, the state of Missouri sued China for $24 billion over Covid 19. Earlier this year they won but have not collected.

China has filed a retaliatory lawsuit seeking roughly $50 billion in damages against the state of Missouri, sharply escalating a years-long legal dispute tied to the origins and handling of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The lawsuit, filed in a court in Wuhan, names multiple Chinese government entities and institutions as plaintiffs, including the Wuhan municipal government and the Wuhan Institute of Virology. It targets the State of Missouri and several current and former U.S. officials, arguing that Missouri’s COVID-related litigation caused severe economic and reputational harm to China.

Chinese authorities accuse Missouri of abusing the legal system to advance “politically motivated” claims that undermined China’s sovereignty and damaged its international standing. The suit seeks financial damages, legal costs, and public apologies.

The case is a direct response to Missouri’s lawsuit filed in 2020, which accused the Chinese government of mishandling the early outbreak of COVID-19 and hoarding protective medical equipment, allegedly worsening the pandemic’s impact on the state.

Minnesota taxpayers, because nearly 100 mayors are sounding the alarm on state policies they say are bleeding local communities dry.

Ninety-eight mayors, led by Crosslake Mayor Jackson Purfeerst, have penned a scathing letter to Gov. Tim Walz and state lawmakers, blaming St. Paul’s fiscal missteps for soaring property taxes, strained public safety resources, and stalled infrastructure projects, as Just the News reports.

For hardworking homeowners across the state, this isn’t just a political spat -- it’s a direct hit to their bank accounts with preliminary data showing potential city levy hikes of up to 8.7% in 2026, driven by state mandates and cost shifts.

These increases, paired with county levies possibly rising by 8.1%, mean real financial burdens for families already stretched thin. From a conservative lens, this smells like government overreach, and no one in St. Paul should dodge scrutiny over how we got here.

The mayors didn’t hold back in their critique, stating, “Fraud, unchecked spending, and inconsistent fiscal management in St. Paul have trickled down to our cities -- reducing our capacity to plan responsibly, maintain infrastructure, hire and retain employees, and sustain core services without overburdening local taxpayers,” as per the letter signed by all 98.

That’s a polite way of saying the state’s mess is now the cities’ problem, and taxpayers are left footing the bill.

The four-day Phoenix conference became ground zero for defense of the America First principles the conservative titans arguably gave his life for.

Ben Shapiro, who had not spoken at AmericaFest prior to Kirk’s death – which speaks volumes – received an early evening time-slot the opening night and used it attacking Kirk’s close friends.

He was the first speaker after widow Erika Kirk, ripping into those who would take the same stage in the coming hours and days. He called out conservative commentators, blasting Candace Owens, Tucker Carlson, Megyn Kelly and Steve Bannon as “frauds and grifters.” Vance walked onto a stage and the end of the conference on the 4th day and cut straight to the heart of the matter.

The Vice President's message was crystal clear. The 30,000 conservatives packed into the Phoenix Convention Center got the message. They didn't come to watch pretenders hijack everything he stood for and demand the movement tear itself apart.

"We have far more important work to do than canceling each other," Vance declared.

Has New York City’s incoming mayor-elect, Zohran Mamdani, just given a cold shoulder to the folks educating over 150,000 kids in charter schools?

Despite a formal plea from 19 charter school leaders to sit down and hash out ways to support needy students and tackle affordability, Mamdani has yet to even acknowledge their request, leaving these educators in limbo as they seek collaboration with his administration, as the New York Post reports.

On Dec. 1, these leaders sent a written invitation proposing a meeting on Dec. 12 at Ember Charter School for Mindful Education. So far, it’s been crickets from the mayor-elect’s camp.

Let’s lay out the numbers: over 150,000 students attend 285 charter schools across the five boroughs, making up one in six publicly funded students in the city.

In the 2024-25 school year, charter students outperformed their traditional public school peers on state exams, with 67.5% proficient in English Language Arts and 68.6% in math, compared to 56.3% and 56.9%, respectively. In The Bronx, schools like Success Academy and Zeta posted pass rates up to 25 points higher than nearby district schools.

Success Academy also nabbed second place in ELA with 92%, just a hair behind a wealthy suburban district. Yet, despite these achievements, Mamdani didn’t include a single charter sector voice on his transition Committee on Youth & Education, one of 17 teams with 400 members.

"The weekend ended with a big hullabaloo about Bari Weiss, head of the failing news division at CBS. Weiss pulled a story on 60 Minutes because it was incomplete.

She wanted more balance and better reporting on the piece. Cries of censorship were immediate and frankly, unconvincing.

“One of Ms. Weiss’s suggestions was to include a fresh interview with Stephen Miller, a White House deputy chief of staff and the architect of Mr. Trump’s immigration crackdown, or a similarly high-ranking Trump administration official, two of the people said. Ms. Weiss provided contact information for Mr. Miller to the 60 Minutes staff.

“Ms. Weiss also questioned the use of the term migrants to describe the Venezuelan men who were deported, noting that they were in the United States illegally, two of the people said.”

President Donald Trump issued a new attack on The New York Times early Tuesday, accusing the news organization of lying, publishing "fake" stories, and posing "a serious threat" to U.S. national security.

In a post published on Truth Social shortly after midnight, Trump sharply criticized the Times' reporting and opinion coverage.

"The Failing New York Times, and their lies and purposeful misrepresentations, is a serious threat to the National Security of our Nation," Trump wrote.

Special Envoy to Greenland appointed

Trump appoints Jeff Landry as special envoy to Greenland

President Trump announced Sunday evening he was appointing Louisiana Gov. Jeff Landry as special envoy to Greenland — drawing warnings from the Danish government over continued US interest in annexing the world’s largest island.

“Jeff understands how essential Greenland is to our National Security, and will strongly advance our Country’s Interests for the Safety, Security and Survival of our Allies, and indeed, the World,” Trump announced in appointing Landry.

Landry responded: “It’s an honor to serve you in this volunteer position to make Greenland a part of the US.”

Landry, 54, added that he would remain as governor in addition to his new role. The former congressman and state attorney general was elected the Pelican State’s chief executive in 2023.

Danish Foreign Minister Lars Løkke Rasmussen said in a brief statement that Landry’s appointment “confirms the continued American interest in Greenland.”
