Talarico disappeared

James Talarico Changes His Flu Story While Denying Mental Hospital Rumors

Texas Democratic Senate nominee James Talarico is speaking publicly again after a two-week hiatus. In interviews with NBC and MS Now, Talarico said he had been dealing with the flu while denying reports that he was admitted to a mental-health facility in Ohio.

“I just had the flu,” Talarico said. He also insisted that he was feeling better after the unexplained absence, which had prompted speculation online.

The Gateway Pundit had previously reported an allegation that Talarico was admitted to the Lindner Center of HOPE in Mason, Ohio. According to that report, an employee at the facility allegedly confirmed during a recorded phone call that Talarico had been “just discharged.”

"Where is TalaFREAKO?"

Trump wants to know where is Texas Democrat “TalaFREAKo?”

Democrat candidate James Talarico has not shown his face at an in-person Texas event since September 26...

President Trump and Ken Paxton are pressing Democratic rival James Talarico over a nearly two-week campaign absence he blames on the flu as some volunteers worry about momentum.

At a Wednesday campaign rally in San Antonio, Texas Attorney General and Republican Senate nominee Ken Paxton put the question directly to the crowd: “Where is James Talarico?”

President Donald Trump joined the scrutiny the same day, calling the Democrat “MISSING IN ACTION” and questioning how a flu diagnosis could keep a Senate candidate off the trail for so long with Election Day less than a month away. Fox News Digital reported the exchange and the growing chatter around Talarico’s prolonged stretch away from in-person events.

Talarico, the Democrat challenging Paxton for the U.S. Senate seat, has not appeared at a publicly documented in-person campaign stop in Texas since a Sept. 26 news conference in Carrollton on gasoline prices and the war in Iran.

He later attended a private fundraiser in New York and joined a Sept. 30 business forum only by video after saying he received a flu diagnosis the evening before at a Dallas urgent care facility.

Talarico endorsed by questionable progressive group

Talarico says he's 'honored' by endorsement from group that freed man later accused in six killings

Democratic U.S. Senate nominee James Talarico said he was "honored" to receive an endorsement from a progressive group that once bailed out a man later accused of killing six people.

Fox News Digital reported that Talarico welcomed the Texas Organizing Project’s backing of his Senate campaign and praised the group’s long work in Black and Latino communities.

Texas Organizing Project (TOP) posted bail for an individual, Shane James, who was later accused of a mass killing spree in late 2023. Authorities later accused James of a string of attacks in San Antonio and Austin that left six people dead, including his parents.

That record now sits beside a Texas Democrat who is asking voters to send him to Washington while his campaign insists he backs tough bail rules.

Talarico on children's gender Identity

James Talarico called parents 'abusive' for rejecting children's gender identity in resurfaced 2019 video

A resurfaced clip from a 2019 Texas Legislature hearing shows Democratic U.S. Senate candidate James Talarico declaring that parents who refuse to affirm a child's gender identity are engaged in "abusive" behavior, a position now colliding with his campaign's moderate rebrand.

Talarico, a former state representative now locked in a competitive race for a Texas Senate seat against Republican Ken Paxton, made the remarks during a committee hearing on HB 1910, a bill designed to prevent family courts from treating a parent's refusal to affirm a child's gender identity as evidence of child abuse in custody disputes.

Fox News Digital reported on the video and obtained responses from both the Republican National Committee and the Talarico campaign.

The bill's language was straightforward. It barred judges from weighing "whether the party demonstrates a history or pattern of acknowledging or declining to acknowledge the child's gender identity or expression" when deciding custody.

Talarico opposed it, and went further, arguing that the very act of declining to affirm a child's stated gender identity should remain on the table as a form of abuse under Texas law.

Talarico and Jon Ossoff

Trump likens 'horrible' U.S. senators to other quirky, effeminate celebrities

'I don't know if there's a genetic tree, but it certainly is close!'

It's no secret that President Donald Trump has likened Democrat U.S. Senate candidate James Talarico of Texas to MAD magazine mascot Alfred E. Neuman.

Now the commander in chief is comparing incumbent Sen. Jon Ossoff, D-Ga., to the quirky and effeminate star of movies and TV, Pee-wee Herman, whose real name is Paul Reubens.

"With these two horrible Political Candidates, I don't know if there's a genetic tree, but it certainly is close! What do you think? "In any event, Mike Collins, of Georgia, should easily beat Pee-wee, and Ken Paxton, of Texas, should easily beat Alfred E. Vote Republican and,

Talarico Isn’t Interpreting Scripture – He’s Rewriting It

Alexander Muse writes: "Political parties often choose candidates the way marketers choose packaging. The product must look familiar before voters examine what is inside.

Consider a simple analogy. A grocery store sells two jars that both say honey on the label. One jar contains honey. The other contains corn syrup flavored to resemble honey. From a distance, they look identical. Only when the buyer reads the label closely does the difference appear.

I believe Texas Democrats applied the same logic when selecting their U.S. Senate candidate. They chose James Talarico, a clean-cut white preacher who openly claims to be a Christian. The strategy is easy to see.

Texas is a deeply Christian state. Roughly two-thirds of Texans identify as Christian. White evangelicals alone represent roughly a quarter of the electorate and voted nearly 90% for President Trump in 2024. If Democrats want to compete statewide, they must at least appear comfortable speaking the language of faith.

But packaging does not determine substance. The real question is whether the theology being presented corresponds to historic Christianity as most Texas Christians understand it.

Christians disagree about many things. Baptists disagree with Catholics. Pentecostals disagree with Presbyterians. Yet beneath these disagreements lies a shared structure of belief. Scripture carries authority. Sin and repentance matter. Salvation comes through Christ. Moral teachings about life and the human body follow from these foundations.

My argument is straightforward. James Talarico departs from this shared structure. The problem is not merely that he interprets the Bible differently. The problem is that he changes the rules of interpretation themselves.

But Democrats are good at that.

James Talarico Democrat choice for Texas

What Texas Democrats Risk With Their Senate Pick

Why Democrats nominated James Talarico

Democratic leaders in Texas picked James Talarico because he energizes their base and talks a big game on cultural issues.

He has backed policies that expand abortion access and support gender ideology in schools. That appeals to a certain wing of the party that wants bold, uncompromising candidates.

The risk for Democrats is clear. Texas is still a conservative state in many places and nominating someone with extreme positions could make general election voters think twice before switching sides.

Mollie Hemingway’s blunt assessment:

Conservative commentator Mollie Hemingway told viewers on FOX News that Talarico is so far left it would be hard to elect him even in San Francisco. That is a sharp critique meant to highlight how out of step his positions are with mainstream voters.

Hemingway pointed to his record leading fights over trans policies in the state legislature and his calls for widespread federal roles in abortion, arguing those views are a long shot in Texas politics.
