House Republicans pass Health Care Plan

House Republicans approve health care plan, reject ObamaCare aid extension

House Republicans have pushed through a bold health care package, aiming to steer policy away from the expiring ObamaCare subsidies with a distinctly conservative vision.

The legislation, passed Wednesday with a 216-211 vote, offers an alternative to extending the enhanced Affordable Care Act tax credits set to lapse on Dec. 31, as reported by NewsNation.

The bill, named the Lower Health Care Premiums for All Americans Act, sailed through despite opposition from Rep. Thomas Massie (R-Ky.) and all Democrats. It bundles popular GOP ideas like funding cost-sharing reductions, reforming pharmacy benefit managers, and expanding association health plans.

Democrats have seized on the subsidy debate, framing it as a critical affordability issue for ObamaCare enrollees facing rising premiums. Their push forced the GOP to craft this package, though it sidesteps the immediate crisis of expiring tax credits.
