Abbott has taken action by chartering a plane to fly over 120 illegal migrants from El Paso to Chicago on Tuesday, catching airport and city officials by surprise. This move comes after months of tension between Texas and Chicago over the migrant crisis, with Abbott previously using buses to transport migrants to the Windy City.
Abbott’s spokesperson, Andrew Mahaleris, stated that the migrants “willingly choose to go to sanctuary cities,” and urged President Joe Biden to take action to secure the border. Mahaleris also made it clear that until the federal government does its job, Texas will continue to take matters into their own hands.

Recent data from Customs and Border Protection (CBP) indicates a significant increase in the number of individuals on the terror watchlist being apprehended at the border.The current fiscal year, 2024, is witnessing a troubling trend with 31 individuals already apprehended who are on the terror watchlist.
This figure suggests the possibility of surpassing the previous year's record. Fiscal Year 2023 saw a record-breaking number of 172 individuals on the watchlist caught at the border. This was a dramatic increase from the 98 individuals apprehended in FY 2022.
Simultaneously, there has been an unprecedented increase in the number of individuals illegally crossing the border. In the first two months of FY24 alone, CBP encountered 617,865 individuals. This number is significantly higher than the figures from FY23, which set a record with 3.2 million encounters.

The guest essay, released on Christmas Eve, listed examples of destruction in Gaza after Hamas terrorists killed and kidnapped Israeli, American and other civilians on Oct. 7.
"The unrelenting destruction of Gaza — its iconic symbols, its beautiful seafront, its libraries and archives and whatever economic prosperity it had — has broken my heart," Sarraj wrote.
Unsurprisingly, the piece is as divorced from reality as one can expect from the Times' apparent attempt at pro bono public relations work for Hamas terrorists that killed more than 1,200 Israelis on October 7 and continue to shoot their own citizens when they try to access international aid deliveries.

She said that in the past, only women used to buy these products for themselves. But now, they're making them free in men's bathrooms too, and she took the photo in a bathroom at Parliament Hill, where the government works.

Yarmysh announced the update on Telegram, where she clarified that Navalny, 47, had been moved to the IK-3 penal colony, also known as "Polar Wolf," in Kharp in the Yamalo-Nenets district in Northern Russia.
Navalny has stood as the most significant opposition to Russian President Vladimir Putin in recent years, leading to an assassination attempt in 2020 when Navalny suffered poisoning from a suspected Novichok nerve agent. He remained in a coma for several weeks while doctors in Germany fought to keep him alive.
Navalny returned to Russia in 2021, when authorities immediately arrested him and later sentenced him to 19 years in prison on extremism charges. His team has repeatedly raised concerns about his treatment following his return.

Any changes made to the program should be based on need, not age,' Social Security expert says
As Americans reach the age of retirement, the majority of them will come to depend on the Social Security trust fund benefits they've been investing in from the first day the taxes were taken out of their first paycheck. However, the $22.4 trillion funding plunge predicted in the 2023 Trustees Report could result in benefit cuts of up to 23 percent for America's retirees beginning in 2033.Unlike Medicare, Social Security Old Age and Survivors Insurance Trust (OASI) is not heading toward bankruptcy or insolvency. As long as there are Americans working there will be money flowing into the trust fund coffers to cover the benefits of current retirees. What is at stake are the benefits of future recipients.
Those proposed changes are:
- Taxing wages above $400,000 while leaving all earned income between $160,200 and $400,000 untaxed. As it is currently, any wages above $160,200 are exempt from Social Security tax.
- Shifting the measure for Social Security's cost-of-living adjustments (COLAs) from the Consumer Price Index for Urban Wage Earners and Clerical Workers (CPI-W) to the Consumer Price Index for the Elderly (CPI-E)
- Raising the Primary Insurance Amount (PIA) received by retired workers annually by 1 percent between the ages of 78 and 82, which would eventually amount to a 5 percent increase
- Increasing the special minimum benefit for lifetime lower-wage Social Security beneficiaries to 125 percent of the federal poverty level

- Chinese President Xi told President Biden that China will annex Taiwan in the future.
- The communist claimed he wanted to take Taiwan peacefully, despite Taiwan’s refusal to join China.
- China has been talking about invading Taiwan ever since Biden allowed the Taliban to retake Afghanistan.
I doubt Biden is even thinking about this. The U.S. has maintained unofficial relations with Taiwan's government, which is defined by a 1979 law that then-senator Biden voted for. The law commits the U.S. "to assist Taiwan in maintaining its defensive capability," to oppose any one-sided changes in the status quo and to support a peaceful resolution to their differences, according to the State Department.
Last year, Biden said we had a commitment to defend Taiwan from a Chinese attack.
Will we defend or not? Taiwan is important to our national security--Taiwan produces over 60% of the world’s semiconductors and over 90% of the most advanced ones.

In her recent video, New York Attorney General Letitia James acknowledged that her accusations of financial fraud against former President Donald Trump may have compromised his right to due process.She asserted that Judge Arthur Engoron had already found Trump guilty before the trial began and is now seeking $250 million in damages even though there is no victim involved.
Additionally, she has asked for a ban preventing Trump and his sons from running any businesses in New York. James accused him of inflating his assets and defrauding lenders and insurance companies.
Trump’s attorney, Halina Habba, said that the Deutsche Bank AG executive told the court that Letitia James’ complaint has no merit.
“After hearing Deutsche Bank say that they still consider the Trump Organization a great client – that they paid their loans off early, and nobody was not paid – their statements of financial condition were actually undervalued. And hearing that from experts who are on the Nobel Committee Executive Committee, recommendations saying that the accounting records were perfect, and those mistakes that may or may not have been on were not mistakes at all; they were called subjective valuations, which every real estate developer has. They were absolutely fine, and there was absolutely no fault at all. And frankly, they even went further and said the New York attorney general’s complaint had no merit; there was absolutely no violations of any accounting principles,” said Habba.Read about it...

LAPD chief says department is leading nationwide movement to arm DACA police officers
As the United States experiences a record number of migrant encounters at the southern border, Los Angeles Police Chief Michel Moore says his Department is taking the nationwide lead on a unique immigration challenge: allowing non-citizen DACA (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals) recipients who become sworn officers the ability to carry a firearm full-time.On Tuesday, Moore said the Los Angeles Board of Police Commissioners "unanimously approved" the outline of a policy that would allow DACA recipients the capacity to carry a firearm off the job, which has been largely prohibited by law because DACA recipients are not United States citizens.
"We’ve worked closely with the Department of Justice at the state and federal level to express the fact that we desire to form a model policy that we think meets this moment and is the state of the law and provisions of immigration policy in the United States," Moore said.
In July of 2021, the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Texas held that the DACA policy was "illegal.” Last year, the 5th Circuit Court of Appeals upheld Hanen’s ruling. But the panel sent the case back to his court to consider a new DACA rule issued by the Biden administration in August 2022.
So, we have non-citizens legally carrying guns in Los Angeles and employed as policemen.
"Federal law would generally prohibit such a person, who's in the U.S. under the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals immigration policy, from possessing a gun or ammunition, but by LAPD making their off-hours part of the, 'performance of their official duties or other law enforcement purpose,' these officers would be allowed to carry their guns while away from work, according to a new policy memo."

This decision was made due to collection reminders being suspended during the COVID-19 lockdown period; although notices ceased, penalties for failing to pay continued accumulating.
The IRS noted that most relief recipients make under $400,000 annually. Right.
