Seniors in the Murry Hills and Lakeside Point Gardens communities have been working with Palm Tran to get a bus. Palm Tran is conducting a trial run today of The Link. This, if used out here, will provide transportation to needy seniors who no longer drive in the Lake Osborne area.
The Link is fully funded by the Florida Department of Transportation. There are eight routes already in the pilot program. The fare is 50 cents. Operating Monday through Thursday, it will also deviate from its scheduled route to shopping locations, medical centers, Palm Tran connecting routes and Tri-Rail within 3/4 mile of the route.
