The 4th Commissioner to step down
I think Addie Greene is scared right now. In fact, anyone sitting up on the Commission that was a part of the old regime should be nervous. The FBI is still here, still investigating.
At the County Commission meeting last week on the Lake Worth water issue, Ms. Greene never said a peep. She never uttered one word (until the vote was cast) for or against her constituents here in Lake Worth, those very people for whom she should be considering the most. Why not? She is the one Commissioner that is very outspoken on everything, so her reticence that day was noticeable. That day her silence was deafening. I wrote every one of those Commissioners regarding their vote and to this day, have not heard back from one.
Her Scripps vote was always a peculiar thing to me. She was saying, right up to the last minute before her vote, that she didn’t know what way she was going to go--whether it should be at Mecca Farms or in Jupiter. As it turned out, developers and business owners pledged $1 million a year for five years to help minority businesses. It is nice to help your own, but discrimination? She knew exactly what she was doing and ended up getting $5 million for her holdout, for her cause. What was it all about? What else did Addie Greene get out of this for her vote? We all wondered. It crossed our minds. An Ethics Complaint was filed but it did not go anywhere.
Karen Marcus had some problem with soliciting developers in her Turtle Charity but was cleared by the State Ethics Committee. It might not end there. Burt Aaronson just has to go. Bob Kanjian should feel lucky he is out of there. I, too, would be nervous and stressed out if the FBI was questioning me, even if I were innocent.
