Majority and Super-Majority votes

Comment Up

A little bit of Trivia:

California-approved a  measure that allows districts to get bonds passed with a 55 percent majority, or 67 percent supermajority if they want to ask for more money from voters.

Just think, here in Lake Worth all it takes is 50% plus 1.  And it's especially easier when you have $50,000 of taxpayer money to convince the voters to your side.

The Super-Majority should have won years ago but it is much of the same crowd supporting this bond that helped defeat it.

Looks like you're still miffed about losing the super majority vote a few years ago. Sore loser. Further proof that you can't let anything go. There was a vote. The side you were on LOST. It's going to be fun watching how mad you'll get after the bond passes. More fun watching as you complain when the city starts the improvements.

I'm all for improvements, anonymous. Just not this huge money-grab and 34 years to pay for it putting the city into humongous debt. I don't get mad--disappointed perhaps. the Super-majority vote was a stacked deck again with the chamber bringing in boots on the ground and money galore to defeat it. I would love to see an even playing field when it comes to money in ALL campaigns.
