City’s information lacking on bonds

Regarding the Lake Worth 2020 Plan: As a resident of Lake Worth, I received two separate mailings from the city purporting to give me more information on the city’s plan to spend $63.5 million on infrastructure improvements. Both mailings provided a map of the city streets indicating in red which ones would be improved. There was little else informative in the mailings. For more information, it was suggested that residents visit the city’s website, which I did. There were several maps showing which streets would be repaired by project, by year, by street name, etc., but no dollar amounts. There was the ability to determine the effect on property taxes, which was both easy to use and helpful. Both mailings and the website mention that 73 percent of the $63.5 million would be spent on the streets , however there is no detailed description of what the other 27 percent would be spent on. This gave me the impression that there was something to hide on how this money would be spent. Normally I would support this infrastructure improvement, but I am voting no due to the lack of information.

Note:  Watch the city or one of its pundits jump on this guy like a bee on honey...probably Maxwell himself will be knocking on his door.

From the City of Lake Worth's OWN literature of only a couple of months ago(BEFORE our finance director walked out):

30% of existing roads resurfaced.

Park of Commerce 9,600,000

Project MANAGEMENT 2,075,000

Neighborhood ENHANCEMENTS 3,200,000( Each district Commissioner will get 800,000 to spend at their discretion. The neighborhood associations will "help" in the decisions- ARE ANY OF THESE COMMISSIONERS EXPERTS IN ROAD CONSTRUCTION AND TRAFFIC CALMING ?? NO! )

Cost of insurance 900,000

MY MY- how the city's literature has changed! And it KEEPS on CHANGING ! 30%,75%,70%- ALL have been used in the city propaganda pieces- PAID FOR BY 50,000 of our tax payer dollars !!!
No Trust-No Bond
