This is so true and a sin, so many know how to work the system, many young women mom's do it to get free rent money and EBT cards, if they get married, they are not eligible, so that is why many do not marry. Many immigrants illegal and illegal get a lot of freebees too, they all know how to work the system, no one wants to work any more and feel they are doing it for themselves, it is a sad day in America. Very sad. So many feel entitled, so many are enabled. A lot of the immigrants do this and anarchist, a friend of mine knows a couple one from the Dominican Republic who has residency here and her boyfriend who is from Honduras, here illegally, they get free rent money and a FL access card, she has a green card to work, but works under the table and allows a friend of hers to use her legal papers to work, she gets all these benefits for her and her illegal boyfriend. This country is screwed with all these freeloaders. What abuse! Makes you want to just give up too, our government leaders and law enforcement need to address and a correct all of this abuse, that is why most Americans who work hard do not respect our government or law enforcement anymore, and with reason. Something needs to be done, all this waste, fraud, corruption, dishonesty, and free loading needs to stop ASAP!
Is that Cara Jennings and her boyfriend? It really sounds like another one of his manifestos. Well at least he won't be legitimized any more by being Chair of a city advisory board. I thought it was amusing how he submitted his resignation after the commission sunset the board. That is like saying "I quit" right after your boss says "You're fired. He had no choice. Good riddance and bravo to the new majority that is doing a great job of taking out the trash!
Besides Panagioti, who is the "trash" in your mind? Does it include anyone on a board who has been arrested and found guilty of anything? Is it the former city manager who fought the unions and would not put up with incompetence? Give some specifics.
It was mainly the former city manager that produced a smoke and mirrors budget, lied to the city commission, mangled every negotiation she was involved in, encouraged a resident to throw larger eggs at a local business. But hey she "fought" the unions. Specific enough for you?
Tonight was the 3rd time this month that I got stuck behind a person using food stamps. This was the Lantana Publix by I-95.The pimply faced kids who are cashiers don't know WHAT to do and always have to call a manager to sort things out.Not the fault of the people on food stamps that Publix workers can't do their job.One out of every 5 Americans is now on some form of Govt welfare.Over 2 million Americans have been out of work for more than 2 years and have given up even looking for work. People are now getting their metal SPRINKLER HEADS STOLEN!!!! Obama has a plan. He's going to send his wife,MOOCHELLE to all 50 states on extended extravagant vacations to stimulate the economy.While we all eat cake.Is cake covered by food stamps?And if it is, will you ever be able to make it out of Publix with your free treats paid for by the 5 of us who still have a job in Obamamerica?!?
Gang, I normally would NEVER make a comment on something like this but I can honestly say that I have seen the same Entitlements since I was a child. Its not new its not something that just started happening and I can tell you that I know of cases that are 30 plus years ago that show the same repeat of history that take advantage of the system.
With that said this has happened way before our times and further back then before most of us were even born. The thing to think about now is what are we going to do about it going forward!
Lets change our thought process from pointing fingers to having actual real live social input on how to correct a corrupt system.
These are my thoughts on the issue of Entitlement as humble as they may be.
Anonymous you forgot to mention all the indefensible positions fought with the unions that the "best city manager" ever did which cost the taxpayers of our fine city well over a million dollars last year in outside legal fees not counting the pay outs for all the ones lost. Who knows what this years tally will be. The "best city manager ever" who just had to take an over a 50% pay cut as an accountant with Fort Lauderdale because all other municipalities in the US are too smart to hire someone who has no clue about how to be a successful manager of anything but anger and arrogance. The best thing that happened to this city was the termination of Stanton!
Let's kick someone when they are down, Collins. She is down thanks to the politics of this commission. That is the bottom line. It was 3 votes, people who had said that they would give her a chance and then within a very short time betrayed that promise.
We have to defend our legal position, Collins. Do you believe that we should just allow people to sue us and roll over? You probably want us to pay Greater Bay as well?
Thank God there are strong people such as Stanton instead of weak pussies giving into the Union right and left and staff that went around their scope of authority wasting taxpayer money.
Do you even realize how long it takes to get a CM job? The simple fact that she WAS hired by a city is testament that she is hire-able. Her experience and qualifications are that of a city manager. She will be one again with perseverance, something she has.
Why not stop talking in negatives and hateful rhetoric and wish her well. Whatever is your problem?

How do you instill pride in people when they have been given everything. They buy a house and can't afford it because they believe that every citizen deserves to own a house. They use credit cards and buy stuff they can't afford to have and knew they couldn't afford it. They don't pay their bills. The system allows them to write off their debt and file bankruptcy. The government continues to help the poor by giving them stuff. They need jobs--not hand-outs. The govt needs to stop the out-sourcing and make it profitable for corporations to stay in the United States. There are a million problems and every single one of them is paid for by a working American. No one really wants this entitlement society but yet, there are still half of the population that likes Obama. We can see what happened to other countries with this mentality.
The complete lie that Bush put more people on welfare than Obama has is not going to be swallowed anymore. And Robert, yes,we have had a welfare class in this country since FDR, but NEVER IN THESE NUMBERS!!!!Since Obama bluffed his way into office welfare registrations have increased OVER 48%!Get goin on them vacations,MOOCHELLE!
