'We accept the fact that until the full benefits of the bill are implemented, it will be hard to move the opinion of some people,' the senior administration official said.
At the same time, White House officials are wary of doing anything ahead of next week’s Supreme Court hearings that could be read as trying to influence the justices. The White House fears that even if events were tied to the second anniversary, they would be framed by the media as related to the court hearings, where the individual mandate to buy insurance—the heart of the law—is being challenged."

While the law is not perfect, I think it was a step in the right direction and I do believe under the commerce clause that it is legal. I know a lot of people who now have insurance thanks to this law. I am really interested to see what happens in 2014 when the health exchanges are set up.
The law did nothing to make insurance more affordable. We had to drop ours and just hope we stay healthy until "whatever" kicks in to see how everyone who can't afford to buy gas, can now have to afford insurance.
This was a huge windfall for the insurance companies. They were and are supportive of it. It did nothing to address the costs of healthcare.
All governmental employees healthcare "insurance" is covered by your tax dollars. City, County, State and Federal along with every little taxing district, Fire Department, Police and Sheriff Department. These costs are buried and you can't see them as line items or we'd all be upset.
As a small business, those costs are upfront and center. You have to make that check out every month and it is hefty. "Un-affordable" actually.
We will all eventually end up in some sort of "medicaid" or "medicare" style system, hopefully with a single payer system. (the only good part of the proposal that failed)
The same situation will still exist... the poor people will be subsidized, the rich will be able to afford top quality health care whether through insurance or self-insurance, the governmental employees will still be covered by our taxes and the rest of us poor schlubs will be left holding the bag.
However, there is a downside.....
