Afghanistan - The Longest War in History

Isn't it past time that we seriously think about vacating Afghanistan. We are really dealing with CRAZIES over there and the entire mess is making our troops crazy to boot--urinating on dead bodies and then blowing away an entire civilian family.

According to the Pentagon, an Afghan drove a stolen vehicle on to a runway ramp at a military base in southern Afghanistan and then ran from it ablaze as a plane carrying Defense Secretary Leon E. Panetta landed there yesterday morning. Mr. Panetta said, “We will be challenged by our enemies, we will be challenged by ourselves, we will be challenged by the hell of war itself.”

The cost of the War in Afghanistan has cost $510,035 billion so far. On Sunday, Newt Gingrich was on Face The Nation and said that it was time for the U.S. to leave Afghanistan. “I think that we have to reassess the entire region. I don’t think that we have the willpower or capacity to fundamentally change the region.”

Newmax says, Afghanistan received $15.7 billion — 90 percent of its public spending — from the U.S. and other NATO donors. After 10 years of NATO and other allied intervention, the country still ranks among the most corrupt in the world.

American fatalities in Afghanistan.

Although we plan on pulling out by the end of 2014, why not now? A new poll just conducted (ABC News - Washington Post) indicates that 60 percent of U.S. citizens believe the war in Afghanistan is not worth its costs. The survey found that only 35 percent of Americans believe the decade-long effort has warranted its expense and loss of life. Perhaps some other country can pick up the slack.

"President Barack Obama must stop apologizing for every misstep in the Afghanistan war — it makes the United States look weak in the eyes of the enemy, Republican Rep. Allen West told NewsmaxTV in an exclusive interview. And if there is no political will to deal with Taliban safe havens in Pakistan, the U.S. might as well remove all troops from the country," he further stated.

Im so proud of our troops and our great leader for finally bringing Osama Bin Laden to justice.

Now it's time to bring the troops home safely and steadily.

So this great warrior type Allen West wants to cut and run? What about all the blood & tresure we have invested there?

Yeah--what about it? It is a disgrace when you think about it. Are we going to WIN this war or just waste more of our treasury and more of our American troops. We've been there over 10 years and we're getting no where.

The Vietnam war lasted much longer when US troops were their. 55,000 of our troops died in that one.

Our presence was from 1965 to 1975 in Vietnam. It was a horrible war and we didn't go in to win that one either.
