Lake Worth High School's Trojan Band

Dave Cantley, former Principal at Lake Worth High writes--

There is an excellent story in Thursday's PB Post on Lake Worth High's band.

Daniel Harvey became the director one and one-half years ago when there were only 14 members in the band. People were saying "Lake Worth will never have a good band again." Mr. Harvey now has 147 musicians in his band and they are winning contests. They just won first place in the regional competition this week. Please check your paper for the story.

Like all programs in the school, the band is in dire need of funds. Their uniforms are literally falling apart as they march. Please consider a donation to the band to help with their uniform needs as well as other expenses they must incur. No donation is too small or too large. Make checks payable to Lake Worth HS with the notation "Band Account' and mail to Mr. Daniel Harvey, Band Director, Lake Worth HS 1701 Lake Worth Road, Lake Worth, FL 33460. Donations are tax deductible.

"Keep them cards and letters comin' in, brothers and sisters. Better still, make that a letter. cause the Lord knows you can't send money in a post card."

Thanks,
David D. Cantley

Note: Laurence and Dee McNamara are collecting instruments to donate to the band. If you have instruments stored away such as an old tuba :) that you are no longer using, think about our band and drop it off at 422 N. Lakeside Drive.
