More GOOD News for Florida Hometown Democracy

On April 7th the Franklin County Board of County Commissioners, for potentially a variety of reasons, voted to rescind/repeal the FLUM (Future Land Use Map) amendments originally granted by them to the St. Joe Company which would have established six new towns in eastern Franklin County.

Originally the opposition to this was started by the Sierra Club, Panhandle Citizens Coalition and private citizens, Don and Pam Ashley. The organizations got out for possible standing concerns but the Ashleys have carried the ball ever since.

With one more public hearing, the county will be much less beholden to the St. Joe Paper Company than it was before.
