Susan Stanton, one of the candidates who was interviewed for City Manager of Lake Worth, is being divorced or was by her wife of 17 years. Of course, Susan was a man, or she still is, or no one knows for sure. One thing for certain, after applying for 100 City Manager positions, she has a better chance in this quirky, crazy, open-minded little city.Lake Worth, having the distinction of being one of the most liberal and most tolerant cities around, Susan may very well get the nod from the City Commission and be our next City Manager. We need a City Manager who will devote 100% of his/her energy on our City, not any personal situation.
She was smart, did her homework and right on target at the Interviews yesterday. If she, as well as the City, can overcome this transgendered "obstacle" and not let it get in the way, she might very well be our next leader and very possibly or even probably a damn good one.
