The Lake Worth Herald Editorial today

It was really the very first and the last paragraph that got to me today—

The taxpayers—not the usual commission attendees—of Lake Worth ought to be concerned about the turn of events over the past few meetings.

The taxpayers—not the vocal minority who disrupt city commission meetings with impunity—of this city ought to be concerned.

Those who use our right to publicly comment on issues, are now among the vocal MAJORITY. We turned the tide on the dais in November. Did you forget? This is not “disrupting” anything, a very strange word to describe our right to speak. We are the people who actually give a damn. We care about what goes on in this City. Do you think the people who all stay home who can’t even name a city commissioner are the ones who care? We care about our city no matter who is in power.

Because the majority of the commission does not agree with your direction for this City, i.e., have Greater Bay here to screw up our beach, have the Sheriff’s Department instead of our own police department costing us a small fortune, or your wanting us to go with PB County Water, you now even quote Larry Karns as if he was some legal authority. He’s the guy that got us into a lot of this mess because he doesn’t read contracts.

There are many cities in Florida that use Reverse Osmosis—Melbourne, Manalapan, Cape Coral, Dunedin and Tampa to name a few. This is not exactly a new idea here. We started building ours four years ago or so and took out a revenue bond for over $69.925 million to build it as well as using the money for our utility upgrade.

We are not exactly alone here when we want to remove a scam artist out of our city on our beach.

We are not exactly alone when we say that the Sheriff, although doing a good job, is costing us a LOT of money and the affordability of going with them is questionable.

Because a few of these contracts are being challenged does not mean that there will be lawsuits. Have you ever heard of "amicable termination?" Have you ever heard of legal justification?
