If Commissioner Mack Bernard has his way, it will. Oh yeah, let's have more rallies for people in our country on a temporary protection status or basically those who are non-citizens.
It's been 7 years now--is that considered "temporary?" It's like the guest you invited to dinner who never leaves.
Back in 2016, the then Secretary of Homeland Security, Jeh Johnson, extended Haiti’s designation for Temporary Protected Status (TPS)
originally issued after their earthquake in 2010, for an additional 18 months. The extended designation is effective Jan.
23, 2016, through July 22, 2017.
At this moment, the TPS has not been extended and Commissioner Mack Bernard hopes the program will be renewed.
