The first 100 days

Thursday marked 100 days since the Republican Senate majority was sworn in. Already, the United States Senate is changing…and getting things done.

Here is a brief overview of our Senate Republican majority’s achievements so far:

  • *In their first 100 days with Republicans in the Senate majority, BOTH chambers of Congress have passed plans for a BALANCED BUDGET.
  •  -Under the previous Democratic Senate majority, NO BUDGET PASSED in 4 of the 5 years Democrats held the Senate majority.
  • *In their first 100 days, Republicans saw over 100 votes on amendments and passed a total of 9 bills into law.
  •  -Under the previous Democratic Senate majority, only 15 amendments were voted on in the entire year in 2014.
  •  *In their first 100 days, Republicans enabled a fair and open amendment process, making it easier bipartisan collaboration and more work to get done
  • . -Under the Democratic Senate majority, Harry Reid broke Senate rules, restricted amendments, and demonized his Republican opponents.

  • Ward Baker, NRSC Executive Director
