Hudson Holdings' proposes the following for a Lake Worth Pool and Cabana Club--after they screw up our 50 meter pool that taxpayers already paid for:

Pam Triolo needs to be recalled. Mr. Maier you should have said that we don't want private development on our beach or anyone proposing to tie up our property for decades.
Ryan is correct. The pool is an amenity. I would, however, like to see the Casino break even. I do NOT want to see a public/private partnership at our beach and Hudson having control of it for decades upon decades.
Let's hire someone (a LW city employee) who CAN manage our property and get the upstairs finished as part of the ballroom or leased out to a tenant who will pay for his own build-out costs.
God, we just went through this crap with Greater Bay. What IS THIS CITY THINKING?
This all comes about because the City Manager does not know how to manage. He came to LW from Lantana where there was not much to manage and before that he was an aide to former County Commissioner, Warren Newell, who went to prison for his criminal dealings as commissioner in Palm Beach County.
Just can't imagine this nightmare all over again. Was this commission living in a cave went we went through it before? Did it not get a big hint when Szerdi was skunked? We can't afford these people to lead. I'm beginning to believe that they would give away their kid if there was a lot of money involved.
The Committee is delaying the proposals by recommending a study to see if Hudson Holdings can even do what they propose. This will take around 6 months. They also believe our resolve will disappear. It won't. With the city and the commission, where there's a will, there's a way.
How many commenting here were at the meeting Tuesday? Few if any. How many commenting here know how long Bornstein was in Lantana? How many different CM did LW have during the time Bornstein was managing Lantana? Lynn, where did that graphic come from? Tell everyone who was in charge of the poorly designed and constructed casino project that we have now. Why shouldn't LW residents who would like to have the added beach experience that other communities have for their residents, would like something like that and have worked hard to be able to afford it be able to have that in their own town? If there are those that don't want to see it they might be better off to go to the beach at Kriesler Park at the north side of the casino.
The meeting was packed on Tuesday---out into the halls, into the conference room and outside. There were plenty of people there.
Who cares how long Bornstein was in Lantana? Why is that relevant?
The graphic came from Hudson Holdings.
The casino has had some problems but I would beg to differ with you on the poor design and poor construction. You are talking about top-flight architects and builders here. They need to set it right like any other contractor that would have been hired.
We have a fabulous beach. If someone is unhappy with their "beach experience" then they should go to Palm Beach, Manalapan, Lantana or elsewhere, or as you suggested, Kriesler park.
We spent $13 million on our beach. I was happy the way that it was and just using our beach fund to upgrade the building. Now that money went missing years back.
Who was in charge back then? Are you talking about the commission? The commission relies on experts to perform. As said, REG beat out the others, one of whom was a firm tied to Szerdi.
Mark Bates was the finance director then and Bob Baldwin was the city manager who took over from Paul Boyer. A final meeting of the commission was on August 13, 2010 on the finance plan presented by Steve Carr, a Susan Stanton hiree.
Why can't people be happy with a beautiful beach and just do their jobs? If you're not happy, please go somewhere else by all means and stop trying to give our asset away to some interloper. It's our beach. Staff, do what you're paid to do.
"If there are those that don't want to see it they might be better off to go to the beach at Kriesler Park at the north side of the casino." Anon at 10:41, why should WE have to go ANYWHERE ??? WE have a beautiful beach-unless Hudson Holdings is allowed to rape it and close a large portion of it to the public.

What is going on? I thought that this was not going to be the recommendation of the ITN committee.
