“We’re going to send them out to Guantanamo,” Trump said at at the signing of the Laken Riley Act.

He later signed a presidential memorandum and said h.e.’d direct federal officials to get facilities ready to receive criminal immigrants in the US illegally. Border czar Tom Homan said U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement would run the facility. Still, details of the plan weren't immediately clear.

The migrant detention facilities at Guantanamo will be used for the “the worst of the worst,” administration officials said.

Liz Shuler, president of the American Federation of Labor and Congress of Industrial Organizations (AFL-CIO), condemned Trump’s firings in a statement. “By leaving only two board members in their posts, the President has effectively shut down the National Labor Relations Board’s operations, leaving the workers it defends on their own in the face of union-busting and retaliation,” Shuler said.

Dozens of federal officials, mostly top staff members at the U.S. Agency for International Development, have been suspended for trying to interfere with President Donald Trump's freeze on foreign aid.

The workers, estimated to total 57, were placed on leave on Monday for "trying to circumvent his executive order on freezing all foreign aid," according to a report in the Daily Mail.

They are "career government officials."

"We have identified several actions within USAID that appear to be designed to circumvent the president's executive orders and the mandate from the American people," explained Jason Gray, now the new acting administrator of the agency.

Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) conducted a major operation on Sunday, making nearly 1,000 arrests. Much of the activity took place in the southeastern United States, according to ICE field offices.

The agency reported 956 arrests and issued 554 detainers. These detainers mean there's probable cause the individuals can be removed under federal immigration laws.

In Miami, ICE detailed five cases involving illegal aliens—three from Florida and two from Puerto Rico. The two in Puerto Rico, both Dominican Republic nationals, faced charges for domestic violence and driving under the influence.

In Florida, a Nicaraguan national was arrested at the Broward County Jail. The individual faced charges for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, unlawful weapon possession, and driving with a suspended license.

The group’s petition is “calling on the U.S. Congress to initiate an immediate impeachment investigation into Donald Trump’s violations of the Emoluments Clauses and into his unlawful, corrupt campaign practices.”

Proposal by Developers to take over our Beach Park and Golf Course

On Jan. 16 a private investment group led by Copperline Partners and golf legend Jack Nicklaus submitted a public-private proposal for $200 million for two Hyatt hotels, one each on the ocean and city golf course, and $155.6 million for other projects including a renovated golf course, beach parking garage and new public swimming pool in the city’s Northwest Park.

City officials are still trying to determine the multiple changes to the city’s charter, comprehensive plan and code that would be required to accommodate it, assuming they want to proceed at all.

Based on their initial review, city officials said at a public meeting Jan. 21, the proposal could trigger at least five charter changes, each requiring voter approval.

Trump allegedly threatened to tariff Denmark if they did not relinquish the arctic island, according to the Financial Times. Greenland hosts an abundance of natural resources, including rich oil reserves and minerals.

America currently operates Pittufik U.S. Space Base on the island, which includes a radar station which is part of the U.S.’ ballistic missile early warning system, according to the Department of Defense. Múte Egede, Greenland’s prime minister, has repeatedly stressed that the island of around 57,000 would rather be independent than submit to U.S. rule, according to the Financial Times.

Florida recognizes Gulf of America

Florida Gov. DeSantis refers to Gulf of Mexico as "Gulf of America" in winter storm order

After President Trump on Monday issued an executive order to rename the Gulf of Mexico as the Gulf of America, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis jumped on the idea.

In an order he issued about this week's winter storm, (see link below) DeSantis referred to an "area of low pressure moving across the Gulf of America."

But changing the name of a water body that is integral to Florida might not be so simple.
A computer search of Florida laws shows at least 55 statutes include references to the Gulf of Mexico, while local government ordinances also are tied to the traditional name.

Oh well, everything is doable. Florida lawmakers and DeSantis could have a way to update state laws to change references from the Gulf of Mexico to the Gulf of America. The Legislature regularly passes what are known as "reviser's bills" that do such things as change terms in laws.

Reviser's bills usually pass easily without controversy.

However, DOGE wasn’t created by Congress, and its legal powers remain unclear. The lawsuit argues that DOGE qualifies as a “federal advisory committee” and must follow the Federal Advisory Committee Act (FACA). President Donald Trump is blasting the radical Episcopal bishop who used a prayer service to lecture him.

On Tuesday, the Right Rev. Mariann Budde used her sermon at the Washington National Cathedral to send a message directly to Trump, who was seated in the front of the church.

That message sounded more like a progressive activist's rant than a biblical sermon. There was no quoting of scripture, only weaponizing of Christian values — "compassion" and "mercy" — for the apparent justification of a liberal vision on immigration policy and the LGBTQ agenda. "The so-called Bishop who spoke at the National Prayer Service on Tuesday morning was a Radical Left hard line Trump hater," Trump said.

Trump then highlighted the most significant problem with Budde's message: "She brought her church into the World of politics in a very ungracious way."

President Donald Trump’s border czar Tom Homan said on Tuesday that Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents have begun seeking criminal illegal immigrants in the first phase of Trump’s mass deportation operation.

Homan told Fox News that ICE agents created “target sheets” prioritizing the arrests of illegal immigrants who are deemed threats to public safety. Trump signed a slew of executive orders immediately after being sworn into office on Monday to secure the southern border and crack down on illegal immigration.

“ICE teams are out there as of today,” Homan told Fox News host Trace Gallagher. “We gave them the direction to prioritize public safety threats. That’s what we’re looking for. We’ve been working with a target list.”

"A leftist ideologue who preaches at the Washington National Cathedral Tuesday ranted about transgenders and illegal aliens to President Trump, who had gone to the iconic church in the nation's capital for a prayer service.

The bipartisan interfaith prayer service just got political as pastor pleas for Trump to have mercy on "scared" LGBT children and illegal immigrants.

It was Marianne Budde, a bishop at the church, who "unleashed a wild sermon claiming trans kids were 'fearing for their lives' due to him being in the Oval Office," according to a Daily Mail report.

An episcopal bishop known for her strong opposition to Donald Trump and her support for progressive causes caused a stir in Washington, D.C. after delivering a sermon to the new president during mass. Mariann Budde's sermon, which touched on topics like LGBT rights and undocumented immigrants, appeared to have little impact on the Trump family.

The bishop, who openly lists her pronouns in her Instagram bio, is also a vocal advocate for same-sex marriage. Budde was described as "unapologetically liberal" in an elaborate 2011 interview with the Washington Post, following her appointment as the ninth bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of Washington.
