Lake Worth City Manager Buys house in Lake Worth

Comment Up

and now is selling it--

We were all happy when we heard that the city manager was investing in our city to live here in his own house rather than renting an apartment at The Lucerne. This was a positive. Michael Bornstein bought a house in College Park at the corner of  North Palmway and Wellesley Drive in November 2015.

What it looked like:  $274,000

What it looks like now:
Refurbished and remodeled and on the market for $339,900
A lot of work went into this house...looks really nice.

The Commerce Department said that home sales jumped 16.6% in April, so this is the time to sell.

To the sarcastic jerk who just attempted to post here...I am happy to know that he is buying another house.
Have a great day.

Looks like night and day. Good job, mike.

Did he have to go through a permit process to renovate this house?

I'm not sure house flipping contributes to stability in our neighborhoods, but it should increase our tax base (at least for a while). So, kudos?

He's not just flipping the house... Give him a break, his father just died.

Did you ever consider there may be more to the story that you don't know!

You are such a troublemaker! His father died and his mother is moving in with he and Debra. How about some empathy for once!

Glad to see houses being fixed up in our single family neighborhoods.

Who is a "troublemaker?"

Lynn Anderson said...

To the big-mouth "heavy-weight" convicted felon, get a life...one people will admire.

No one is a troublemaker here. This is about the city manager buying and selling a house. No one knows, nor do they care, about his personal life. If his father recently passed, sympathies are duly extended.

Did the Mayor finally sell her house? If yes where is she living these days?

The Mayor and CM are in the same situation trying to take care of parents after one parent dies. Trying to find homes to provide for their loved ones. Cut them some slack.

@12:34am...you must have had a rough night. Get a lot of sleep. NO ONE CAME AFTER THE CM OR THE MAYOR.

To answer 9:16am, I don't know if he bought it already renovated. The "before" photo was from Google Earth.

Some people are actually interested in what our "leaders" are up to.

THAT PIECE OF CRAP ISNT WORTH 300,00

We know what Ryan Maier's house looks like because some idiot turned him in for a code violation that was dismissed. What about showing us all the commissioner's houses? Can you do that?I would like to see how they live.

If they own their own property it's a matter of public record… You could look it up yourself

Lynn Anderson said...

@2:52...not sure that showing house photos of our commissioners would be newsworthy. What was news was our city manager investing and buying into our city. As he has to live here by law, it's great that he wants to own his own home here.

It's also great that he wants to take care of his mom. And great that his spouse also does.

Why can't this blog site ever praise the good in people without injecting a cutting edge or questionable undertones.

I know very well about the sacrifices made to take care of elderly parents… It cost me by stalking my career and drawing on my finances but it was the right thing to do.

Way to go City Manager Mike Bornstein, you make me proud to know you and know of your compassionate heart. Your daddy would be proud to know that you stepped up to the plate and are doing the right thing.

This blog was not AGAINST Michael Bornstein, just the opposite.
I know the sacrifices it takes to care for an elderly parent as I retired from my job to do that very thing. But when it is your parent, it is never a sacrifice. There are no regrets. She lived with me for 6.5 years until her death.

No one, other than insiders, know of his personal life nor do we get involved in that. This was about a house. So, thanks for your lovely statements about our CM. He is doing what any normal, compassionate son would do.

This house always looked good the previous owner was a retired cop. I personally think the wood fence looks horrible and cheep. hopefully the plants grow out and cover the fence because it really doesn't belong with the other homes in the area!

its plain ugly----did he sell it through we buy ugly homes---which is a true company who have bought up lots of homes here

You people are ugly, your audience on this blog site never disappoints with all your collective negativity. It's totally disgusting how you've allowed people to trash talk and disrespect people. It certainly is one thing to play bully on the elected officials, but outrageous to malign others just because you disagree with them, or in this case, the residence of the city manager. I'm sure the city manager secured a permit and put up a fence the city approved of. It's a picket fence for crying out loud, maybe he'll paint it white, and then your audience of narrow minded, nosy busy bodies can complain about that, despite it being the quintessential American Dream to have a house with a picket fence.

LOL...having a bad day?
Freedom of speech or opinion is a bitch.
I happen to think the house is nice but you, on the other hand, not so much.
The city manager is our CEO of this city. That's what he told us. No one is bullying the CM...wouldn't think of it.
